I did a cruise to the ABC Islands in Jan and loved Curacao so much I flew back for a week in April. It was so incredible. Rented a studio apt and a car and went to 15 beaches. VERY affordable and so beautiful there. I'm going again in September. Perfect for solo traveler.
I Love hearing about the history of places, especially about war-times or what may have been a developing instrument to the area. Awesome video of the port!
I was on that pontoon bridge in September (Celebrity Equinox). It closed the gates on both ends while I was on it, and opened up to let a boat pass though. That was a lot of fun. You were kind of like a prisoner for a few minutes - unless you jumped off the bridge. I did a cultural tour of the island.
Just cruised the ABC islands on the NCL Prima. Loved Curacao, especially the fort and channel area. Your insights were very helpful - thanks for sharing!
We were there last November on Niew Amsterdam. Our excursion got cancelled so we just walked the port and town. We enjoyed our visit but would probably go on an excursion next time to see more of the island. We do have a video of that cruise on our channel if anyone is interested. Would definitely like to go back to both Curacao and Aruba to see things we did not get a chance to see the first time. It is pretty cool how you walk through the fort to get to the shipping channel. Interesting port. The bridge is built on what looks like old wooden boats.
On Sundays alot of the shops are closed. There's beautiful murals all over the downtown areas, especially on your favourite side of the bridge which is called Otrabanda. The other side of the bridge is called Punda. Next time you come to Curacao you'd probably like Mambo Beach (a very popular stop on excursions) which has restaurants & shops also. Go to Tugboat Beach to snorkel the sunken tugboat, then check out Fort Beekenburg and Jan Thiel beach. There's Landhuis Chobolobo which is the distillery for Blue Curacao ( also close to Mambo Beach). For a fun excursion do the Tikiboats and discover Spanish Water with all the beautiful houses! You can also do a guided mountain bike tour with WannaBike Curacao. For beaches towards Westpunt I think you'd like Grote Knip and Playa Porto Marie. You can also snokel with turtles at Playa Piskado which is where the fisherman come in with their catch (and clean the fish).
Got a chance to visit Curacao a few years ago. Visited the Blue Curacao distillery. Wife and I walked across the floating bridge and I surprised her on the other side at the large metal heart sculpture as I had brought a lock with our names on it to include with all the other locks. Kind of like a Locks of Love bridges. I've seen that they have added 2 more of these heart sculptures recently. You can see them on the video behind the cannons at the 7:32 mark. Just an idea if you are going to visit and want to leave a piece of you there.
Nice to see the vid. Thanks. We are connected with the island. Iam working as a staff planner for the small Dutch Navy base over there from the Netherlands. My wife worked for some years on Curacao for the Navy and right now my son is working for two weeks over there also for the Dutch navy!
Curacao had the alley way with big painted colorful flowers and another alley way with big colorful sculptured flowers on one side of the alley wall ... beautiful Also Hato cave... pretty cool
Thanks for the video, helas if you had walked 500 meters further, you would have come to the Pietermaai area, so pretty and nice, unfortunately you missed out on that.
So we follow you on our personal channels for years and most of the time we watch u on that but a few months ago we finally got courage and went out on our own. We have commented many times especially when u went to Hawaii our favorite place but we can never cruise it because we have to stay for weeks. Also thanked u cause we are doing our first cruise this summer on Holland America to Alaska but this time I want to not only Thank u for all the cruising and traveling tips , camera tips but also getting personal. Ron and I have lost weight a few times over the last 10 plus years we have went vegan and became marathoners at one point he lost 120 pounds I lost 80 but now we are just enjoying life but also making better habits. I am excited in hopes some will really notice when we hit the 1 year mark in a few months the difference. Jason thanks for not being shy about making the right choices on the low carb eggs and last video u mentioned your healthier drink choice almost every video u mention something and I know it has to be a struggle with all the temptations Stay strong!! We have created a balance we cut loose in most videos but what people don't see is we are strong for 2 to 4 weeks in between at some point we may share more but thanks Jason for sharing keep going !!
This is such a lovely comment and it means a-lot to us!! It’s nice caring folks like you and comments like this that keep us going so thank you for that!
I always enjoyed the Little League kids from Curacao doing the interview about their favorite ballplayer. They would rattle off in their language and then say Andrew Jones in English
Was the fishing market there? When we were there is when the troubles were going on in Venezuela. The fishing market was closing the next day as they were no longer allowed to come there. This was a big blow to the people on Curacao.
When I there in January ('23) I found many of the shops to be closed as well. I asked a shop owner if things opened up later in the day, or if it was a holiday (it was a Wednesday) and he said that many of the shops didn't survive the pandemic. Unfortunately, in his words, it was a bit of a "ghost town" these days.
I was on that ship the week after you. Husband and I came back with Covid. Did you hear of any outbreaks? Half way through our trip they mandated hand washing so I’m assuming they had cases.

Where did you go to find rental properties/information?
Love Curacao! We did a tour and beach excursion, then walked the bridge, did the locks, and shopped. Would love to see more next time.

Jason, that white truck pulling up to the ship at the beginning of the video was probably delivering your spinach. 😂
Lol 😂
Your hair looks super cute !
My favourite part was the fish market on the water.
You should have got some Conch Fritters while you were at Curacao! YUMMY!!! 🤩😍🤩
One of my favorite Caribbean ports, along with Aruba.
Just spent a few days in the ABC Islands. What a Wonderful Experience. So glad it was part of our world cruise.
Love this video. I will be cruising the ABC islands this year. This was helpful.
Love the walking tours you do. Feels like I'm there!
Looks great! We have the room next to this booked in 2024. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this with me. I can’t wait until we get to go there.
Watching this in summer 2024 and its so helpful. I will be going there in a couple of months.
We went to Curaco in 2015. Rented an Air BB. Loved it!!
We loved walking around Curacao

We saw that happen while we were walking towards it.
We will be there soon. We have been there before the pandemic and were invited to join a family cruise we said SURE! Lets Go!
So proud of you, Jason!
We were there 3 weeks ago. Loved it!
Just cruised the ABC islands on the NCL Prima. Loved Curacao, especially the fort and channel area. Your insights were very helpful - thanks for sharing!

Love that place. It's being inside a storybook 😀

Very nice, thank you, enjoyed the time
I loved Curacow all the architecture
My favorite port!
We also loved the tour of the distillery while in Curacao. Fabulous!
I love Curacao so much. We also LOVE just winging it. It's a little harder now with our baby girl in tow, but I love just exploring.
also I lost a hat on that swing bridge once! lol
This looks like an amazing stop !!
Punda is usually great and vibrant, but we also went there one time on a Sunday and it was less then thrilling.

The floating bridge was interesting.
This looks like a fun port! I’m going to look for this on future cruise plans…btw, Alisa your hair looks great the way it’s growing in!

I'm heading there next February. Your video gave me a good idea what to expect. 😊
Have fun!
Awww you missed seeing the alley way with all the umbrellas and the other alley that's totally painted bright pink! So cool
Awe where was that?? We walked all around and didn’t see it.
@@EECCTravels oh poo ...my bad . I got Curacao and Puerto Plata mixed up... sorry..I had to look back at my photos ..😖
I can send photos ... I don't remember where abouts it was ...we had a walking tour guide from Curacao lead us around..
Curacao had the alley way with big painted colorful flowers and another alley way with big colorful sculptured flowers on one side of the alley wall ... beautiful

Next time make sure you go to Mambo beach. It’s the best.
Alisa, a friend & I visited the ABC islands this past November; your video brought back great memories…and btw, your hair is looking great!
It was awesome to see
I always pick up a magnet wherever I go!
Yes! My fridge is 80% covered!!
FYI Celebrity had a great poached egg station on the Equinox last week. They made great spinach eggs benedict!
Oh cool! It’s been a little while since we’ve sailed with Celebrity.

Norwegian Cruise Line has them in the main dining room usually with the eggs benedict but you can order them separately
Nice!!!
Great video ❤❤❤❤
Loved your video. Just confirms my thoughts, I want to see Curacao in the near future . Been to the Carribean twice but not there or Aruba.
This has been our favorite itinerary!
We plan on going on this ship for our Alaska cruise. Great content as usual! 👍🏾
Very interesting as always. Curious how do you display or store your magnets? You must have quite a collection.
Yep! We have a second refrigerator in our utility room and the entire front and 80% of the side is covered.
@@EECCTravels awesome😍

Love the videos and the joy you bring me. And what part of Louisiana do you live in. I used to live in Baton Rouge
We live in the Alexandria area in central Louisiana. BR is about two hours away.
Thanks, you guys. I've never been to Curacao yet, but it's on my list. Alisa, I love how your hair is growing in. It's so cute right now!
I have a odd question about cruising. While you are on a ship does cell phones work to make and receive calls?
When I there in January ('23) I found many of the shops to be closed as well. Oh no!! We didn’t hear anything and we were ok.
Be careful as there were “senior citizens” standing behind Jason when he was having breakfast.
Curacao on the major leafue baseball youtube channel
The food at the Dutch Pancake House was fabulous 😊
They use local ingredients whenever they can at port.
Local drugs too? Ha ha that was funny 😄
Yeah we figured they we’re getting local fish… the food is so good onboard!!
Celebrity has an eggs Benedict station
The poached eggs look great.....But they need Ketchup.
Cannot be eaten without Ketchup.
Celebrity has Poached eggs..
