All you have to do to get the chickens to move out of the way is put some feed down in front of the cage. Pull the cage over it and the chickens flock to the feed leaving non to get run over in the back.

Nice and heavy! Those wheels are a must. I like how you used aluminum frames. One change you might consider is to raise the front under the door to about 18 inches and shorten the door. This has worked for me, both with Cornish cross and my laying hens. Escapes are almost nonexistent.

Made the same brooder last year. I put another board in the center as a divider for when they were real small. Then after a week or so pulled it out

I would put 6 wheels on it for easy pulling. That little space isn't going to harm anything.

@@KCFarms I’ve followed you guys for a while but I just never comment. I’m the guy that took his pig home in the semi about 2 years ago. And yes we still have Clyde and he’s doing well.

While I LOVE seeing the pigs, I do really enjoy the chicken info too. That is a great quick brooder is brilliant. We are also looking to build chicken tractors this spring. So thank you for that too!

I watched again and noticed you called it / carport. I think you just bought a cheap carport kit, is that right? I was wondering how you bought all that tubing for $120 because I could r find prices anywhere near that. I know this video isn’t brand new, but still.

just a heads uppppppp... You may be OVER_SPAN on your horizontal top sill joining the roof.. If it bends? it kinks, then snaps..IN the vid, they are already sagging without load or movement...... I would add 3 studs 2x2 with wood scooped to fit the pipes inch drill bit for each end... using a centered 1 1/2 paddle bit. ,,,, so.. hope this helps...oh.. 50 years construction experience here... Hop at True hands Pottery... all the best mate.... peace. ..

Do you start your chicks out on newspaper or shavings? I’ve always heard to start them out on the newspaper, but if I can do shavings I’d rather do that. Great video! 😊

Instead of weaking the wood with the hole you be better off with eye bolt and staking threw that
