The guy who stood 2nd in #Tokyo2020 Jakub Vadlejch from Czech marked 86.67 meters was consistently able to throw 89.59,mtrs here and grabbed 2nd position, just imagine if he could throw more than 89 here, Neeraj would have definitely reached 90mts in these conditions. Bro that is the difference between european and Japanese conditions ! Conditions would not always be on ur side ! In 2016 championships 86m got gold here but this time it went up to 90m , so it does not depend on their personal best, it does depend on that exact day ! Vetter had nothing to complain about mat , 31 other throwers also competed at the same mat.

      This has more to do with removing prejudices , biases and narrow mindedness and replacing it with common sense and pragmatism.
      Just because a person was world champion , doesn't mean he will do better in Olympics. It all depends on that one day , one moment and one match. If you cannot pull there through , then your value is ZERO. Also , anyone can turn champion if he has confidence and ability on that one day like how Neeraj had.

    • @freakingamerspoint7424
      @freakingamerspoint7424 2 года назад +3

      @@reconquistahinduism346 Exactly, I had watched most of the events and except of the likes of Satish Kumar(even though he was injured) and Aditi Ashok, Neeraj was one of the few competitors who looked confident in his finals and hardly any sign of nervousness. It is all about consistency, Neeraj lands near 85 in most of his throws, and someone who throws above 90 can't do it all the time. Above 85 easily gives you a chance for bronze. Neeraj was in his best form this year , his first two throws this olympic were consecutively his season best as well before olympics it was 86+ for this year.
      But I disagree with their value being zero if they can't perform good just one day! Milkha sing performed worse than his usual (on his olympic day) and he is still a legend for this country. It does affect the sentiment but failing one time shouldn't be the indicator to judge your career. Also what do you mean by prejudice? This isn't boxing. There is no prejudice in Javelin Throw, everyone gets equal opportunity

      Firstly, how far it goes depends on many factors. One of them is the weather conditions,direction and speed of the wind on the day of an event.
      Secondly, Vetter is a great athlete. But he was in the Olympics and ended up in 9th position. It was just not his day.
      When someone even touch the stage of Olympics ,that itself means the person has done exceptional hardwork and know their skills. So,it will be nice if we refrain from giving misinformed opinions.
