    look at that last jump from barshim at 2.40, that height is amazing

    • @bman342a
      @bman342a 4 года назад +10

      It was amazing. Clipping the bar with your heels is the bane of all high jumpers (floppers of course). He probably took off a little too far away from the bar.

      I love watching him jump. He is just stupid fast, and can really plant upward. They all can, but he is justEXPLOSIVE!

      @@bman342a No, probably too close. He should be arching over the bar. Instead, the center of his arch is almost a foot past the bar. Possible he jumped too high , also. If that bar had been at world record height, his heels would have been under the bar and he may very well have cleared it. That was a basically a world record jump.

    6 cleared 2.31 meters in qualifying but many faltered in the pressure cooker of the finals. Mutaz Essa Barshim stayed on form. He needed better competition to scale the great heights. Congratulations to the Syrian, Ghazal, on winning the Bronze! Lysenko is a talent but needs more experience. Liked the lift Rivera from Mexico had on his 2.29 clearance for 4th but he needed to push further into the pit to clear greater heights.
