  • While bicycle touring Turkey, we dive deep into ancient history. We visit Göbekli Tepe and a newly-discovered (older!) sister site, Karahan Tepe, visit the birthplace of Abraham, go wild camping in an old volcano-turned-quarry, and visit Mardin on the Syrian border. Gravel bikes come in handy on some rough roads here in Mesopotamia.
Join us on one of the most unforgettable parts of our cycle tour across Türkiye.

The date stamps are recorded as 2023. I believe you made this tour in June 2022. Hope you enjoyed your time in Turkey.

Love that your sun shirts have big hoods that fit over a helmet. Brand?

Magical! Even so magical you managed to travel to the future (june 2023)😂😂 Mardin has never been on my radar, looks like a big oversight...

This was so beautiful. Saw the video in my feed yesterday, but had no time to watch it. Today, first thing in the morning, I sat with two cups of tea and watched the whole video..

Great video! Where do you lock up the bikes? How do you determine which is a safe place to lock them up? Thanks. Look forward to your videos.

So inspiring!! I would love to explore the way you are. I have the wife convinced to do some week long rail trails. But I keep showing her your videos as propaganda to try more adventurous riding. Please Keep posting.

Hi Love your videos and journey. You mentioned taking the bus a couple of times with your bikes. Was that fairly straightforward: did you have to disassemble them to fit under the bus or were they strapped on the back? Thanks

We have travelled to Turkey, although not by bike...yet. Your travels in Eastern Turkey are fascinating - thanks for taking us along! I have a gear question - where did you get the long sleeves that you cycle in? We are heading to Thailand soon and are looking for something for sun cover that isn't heavy. Keep pedalling!!

In our travels we have found that locals are always the most scared of the people nearest to them who are unlike them. We have the privilege of being yabancı and travelers so people make different assumptions about us. But every time we encounter groups of people that we’ve been warned about, they are always incredibly kind and welcoming. And that’s how we felt in this part of the country (just like everywhere in Türkiye). 😊

Of course! Flat tires, Hillary’s breaks are often not working optimally, our derailleurs are always a little off. Nothing huge so far though. 🤞
