  • Part 3 in the series ''Southeast Turkey'' with Mick and Trudie, in this episode we visit Şanlıurfa, and Göbekli Tepe, Famous for its Balıklıgöl (fish lake), the museum with the oldest known human statue (Urfa man) and the oldest known Temple 12000 years old at Göbeklitepe (Belly Hill)
    This part of Turkey has interesting history going back to the migration of mankind and the development of early religions and the first known agriculture. Some of the first built christian churches and mosques are all in this fascinating region.

    It never cross my mind to visit this part of Turkey. I think we need at least a year to see all the important places in Turkey

    Tens of different cultures have been established and destroyed since Urfaman. Everyone living there today is the sum of these cultures. Thousands of thanks for another great video...

    I advise you to visit harran, Bazda caves, Şuayb city, the place of Eyüp prophet which establish in viranşehir. You can find very very interestings things about history

      @@mickandtrudie urfa castle is where Abraham thrown to fire by king Nemrut (remember the name of the mountain) , Gabriel asks Abraham what do you want from me just ask and god will do - Abraham says i want God and than Gabriel turn the fire to that lake

      I am good, thank you. I hope you are well, too! There is no limitation about visiting to the city. However, because of the flood, some of the places where are important for the city have been damaged. That’s why it is not allowed to visit those places. But I would like to say that the city goes into act. The tourists can come, visit, and try new flavors. Looking forward to seeing you again here. Sending my warm regards..

    I like how you translated "kolay gelsin" to " you are doing a great job there" :). That's one of the emphatetic Turkish ice breaker phrases that have no direct equivalent in English.

      There is conjecture about the origins of the Australian Aboriginal people. Some say Africa others South Eastern Asia. Incidentally I was reading today about the Black Rose. They grow in only one place , a small village in Turkey called Halfeti. And they only appear black in the summer months

      No nearest is Mersin or yumurtalık near Adana there is a beach at aşağıburnaz but it’s not a resort with hotels

      @@mickandtrudie We don't have a car no but we have learnt from our hotel that we can hire a Taxi to go to Mount Nemrut, Karahan Teppe and Harran which is about £200 for both of us. We intend to do one trip a day so that goes someway to fill our days. We will do Gobekli Teppe one day and the archaeology museum and the grand bazaar another day - So I think I have just answered my own question.
      Where is the best place to go on an evening and eat etc?

    It truly is amazing because 11,000 years ago the Turks weren't even in Anatolia. The first cities and rules are Greek and Roman and truly is astounding

      Turkey celebrated I'd 569th Anniversary four weeks ago, Ottoman Turkey was established in 1450s. It is shameful how people who have no clue about the history of the region making films and misinforming people. Please read real history books, do not rely on their tour guides. Western Turkey was Byzantium/Eastern Roman Empire, and Easter Turkey was Armenian Highlands/Armenian Kingdom. Turkey only has 700 historic sites in 569 years.

    Why do you refer our history as turkish history? urfa which is north of kurdistan and under turkey's control is kurdish city, and this is our people history ( kurdish people history and remains). Turks are new in the area their existence belong to 1000 years ago only they came from middle of Asia and occupied our lands thats why plz tell the story in right way!.. thank you❤

      Nowhere did he refer this to be the history of the Turks. And yes Turkish tribes did come from central asia and have mixed with other ethnicities who where already in Anatolia prior. Fact is, todays Turkey has people in it that are mixed ethnicities with European, Persian, Russian, Kurdish, etc DNA. Your racist comment has been duly noted.
