Hey Rick, thanks for watching. Hopefully we can say hi sometime. I'm going ot have a few channel meetups a month. Maybe you can join sometime. I'll put out a community notice or I have an email list. If you want to be a part, shoot an email to eagerexpat@yahoo.com. Hope to meet you soon, Joe
@ Thanks for your invitation. I’m in Seattle and have thought about living in Bangkok part time. You Channel is the best boots on the ground information I have seen. Keep up the great work. You are “making a difference “. I’ll be watching.
The boarded up area directly opposite the Swiss Embassy used to be the British Embassy, it was a beautiful building with wonderful grounds. Now the British Embassy is just a small office near Saint Louis BTS.
Thanks Joe, once again your description is spot on. Ploen Chit is about as central as you can get in Bangkok. You are equidistant between the Sukhumvit and Silom/Satorn neighborhoods. The majority of the high end shopping malls and embassies are in this neighborhood. Don’t be intimidated by the high end residences, there are plenty of affordable restaurants in this neighborhood and you may even score a decent place to live here.

Hi Joe, I’m coming to Bangkok in a month, arriving around 4:30pm at bkk, should I take the sky train or take a grab considering it’s traffic time? I am staying in the Asok area near Terminal 22…. Thanks 🙏
I would take the train. Assuming you don't have 2 large suitcases. Take the train to Makasan at Phetchaburi and then walk to thew hotel. Or get on the Blue MRT toward Terminal 21. Depending if the hotel is between stops. Have a great trip. Keep an eye for community notices or join my email list for upcoming channel meetups. I'm trying to have a few a month. Shoot me an email at eagerexopat@yahoo.com if you want to join us. Hang out with other expats and trade Bangkok stories.
Hi Joe … you always mention you are meeting up with friends in BKK so I was wondering if most of your ExPat friends live in Central BKK or are they scattered around town?
Ploen Chit is about as central as you can get in central Bangkok. You are probably equidistant between the Sukhumvit neighborhoods and the Silom/Satorn neighborhoods. You will have the majority of the major shopping malls in this neighborhood as well as a lot of the embassies. As such, rents will be generally more expensive in this area. Joe description is spot on for this area. Don’t be intimidated by this area, there are plenty of reasonable places to eat and you may even find a deal on places to stay.
Man ..I fell in love with Bangkok because of your videos. Can't wait to move to concrete jungle.
Ha ha, this is a great city. I hope to meet you soon
Thank you for making excellent videos with good narration. Your attention to the nuances and details is what brings me back.

It looks like a new building is going up in that space. I remember my British friends going to the party at the embassy.

Yes sir, it's a great area. The great thing about Bangkok is being able to find an affordable place almost anywhere.
I love the elevated walk ways.

Because you asked Hipflat shows you can get a 2 Bedroom at Noble Ploenchit for as low as $1,700 a month. 🤣 Great video
As Spicoli would say, that's righteous bucks. I like my $500 rent. Ha Ha

99% of my buddies live between Siam Paragon and On Nut. It's just the easiest place to live
