- I have just arrived back in Thailand after completing my round the world trip in just 130 days.
This video was supposed to be a recap of my year as a digital nomad in 2022 but for now, our story will end here.

I have been to 48 countries. Thailand in my opinion is the best country in the east. I had my 21st birthday at the Full moon party in 2004 and have been back multiple times, my longest stay was 5 months. Now I am married to a Thai. We plan on going back this next year possibly to live part time in the north :) Cheers.
Watching your Chiang Mai videos in 2017 first got me interested in moving to Thailand and working remotely. Only three months ago that vision became a reality and I'm now in Thailand :)

The King is back
You're right, one moment will bury you forever. I am Thai and quite wealthy but I always remember when I was a kid in the countryside, catch fish in the fields, find bamboo in forest, dig insects ...etc Nowadays you are so rich and had luxury cars, but you always miss the days when you rode a motorcycle with your friends. Money isn't always everything, you always miss a good old days even you don't have a single penny.

Great to see a new video from you, excellent story telling as always. I can relate to the living out of a suitcase and getting tired. Now about 4 months in each country seems to be the sweet spot for me. So traveling slower I guess has helped balance work productivity, burnout, and avoiding getting bored.
The production is so professional!! I see it as a movie trailer, willing to see next episodes!!!

New style in this video. Pandemic changed everything. I noticed that everytime y say "having fun" somebody opening a bottle of champagne 🍾. I can go back to y first RUclips videos. I prefer those videos to this one, but i believe time change things and we may not be same person anymore 🙂.

Whoa crazy how similar you feel to me… I started following you in 2017, was in Chiang mai around the same time as you. Nick nerovs RUclips inspired me to start Amazon (and this channel) back in 2017 and been doing it since. Hey man, you've been a huge inspiration and the reason why I began to travel 4+ years ago. Also have gotten a little tired of the lifestyle after having spent a year in LatAm in 2022. With this being said: make sure to check out Buenos Aires. It's currently my preferred option for settling down, the 3 months I've been there were quite amazing. All the best!

Yeah not surprised man. I've been to South America 7 times so far for about 3 months in total. Coming from the U.S., I've never thought Europe was that much different, especially Western Europe. Definitely an unpopular opinion but I agree with you.

Not too surprised you didn’t choose to make London your home, it’s ok for a visit but that’s enough. The British weather is the reason many Brits leave or at least take vacations when they can to warmer climes. There is a lot to see in Europe, glad you saw some of it, and maybe you’ll be back ?
Not sure. Not particularly inspired by Europe right now but things could change 🤷♂️
@@ChristheFreelancer yeah, I think to make mainland Europe your home, I think you need to learn the language in whichever country you would like to live. Otherwise you will always be an expat. You can certainly get around Europe with just English but it’s not enough to connect more deeply

It's a great opportunity for you to come to Argentina. In Buenos Aires we have a really affordable city, secure in most places and with a lot of activities to do. Also, I know a group of digital nomads that goes to different bars or places every Thursday and may be helpful for you. If you want, I can send you a link to join to that group of nomads and also information about Buenos Aires.

I know what you mean about missing a particular place. I taught English in Japan and South Korea in my 20's and then returned to the US. Although I'm comfortable and happy in my hometown in my 50's, I also still miss living in Japan.

nice video and defo inspires me but isnt this also a sense of escapism? like ive got work to do and need to sit down for long periods to get it done and feel country hoping to hang with friends isnt going to push me forward yet the shots on here look so nice and literally a dream!!
Yeah I mean, is that what I talk about during the video? I needed to slow down. There's also a sequel if you wanna see how the story concludes.
Portugal and Montenegro have a lot of potential as Digital Nomad spots. I'd say that half of Portugal is outside of Lisbon and Porto, not even on the mainland, but on Madeira and the Azores. As I recall you've been to the Canary Islands, Madeira should be somewhat familiar. The Montenegrin Riviera is a bit expensive for what you get, but still decent. I'd pick historical towns like Tivat over the larger, touristy Budva. Can't wait for your South America videos.....

Chris, your video is well shot/edited and all of that but could it be you are looking for something that doesn't exist? It looks like you're into partying with the luuvies wherever you go and I doubt South America (coincidentally the only continent I've never been to) will be any different. The month I was in Istanbul, Tinlicker, ARTBAT, Black Coffee and Fideles all had gigs in the city. Plus the regular techno clubs are lit as well.
