    I'm a beginner skater so I really like to see what can be done. Tips on backwards crossovers are awesome

      @SolidSkates  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hello issac, I learned by pretending to walk while going backwards and then slowly transitioning this moonwalk motion into a cross over. Never heard of anyone else doing it like this but maybe it will help.

    This series is awesome, and amazing to see that you can do so many kinds of turns, spins, jumps, even axels on urban/slalom inline skates, rather than on specialized off-ice figure skates. And also make it look easy as if on ice. Did you have a strong ice background before inline or is all this really self-learned in 1.5 years? Ive also been using inlines to practice basic figures off-ice so these videos are super inspiring.

      @@PieterSheth-Voss I had no ice background and it was all learned on roller skates + in-line skates, if you combine roller skating it’s closer to 2.5 years of practice, I was working at a sonic drive in 😅. Let me know how your figure skating moves are going on your in-line skates! There are so few people doing them.

      @@SolidSkates I started urban inlines 1.5 years ago, mainly to find a substitute for skiing in a winter with no snow, and got addicted to city skating. Then rediscovered pond skating this last winter, and started USFS LTS Basic 1-6 to learn figure and get techniques right. My current obsession has been to get three-turns, brackets, waltz jumps, and MITF on regular inlines as you have, so as to not be dependent on rinks or weather or ice. So to see in this series that that, and more, is possible is exactly what I was searching for.

      @@PieterSheth-Voss I love to hear it! Sounds like you know more than me about the technical side of things. I’m doing the opposite, and I’ll be making ice skating videos this winter since it’s so cold in Wisconsin where I’m moving this week.

    • @SolidSkates
      @SolidSkates  4 месяца назад

      @@ghost.user964 mine are super expensive, I use the hc evo pro by powerslide, with 4x80mm wheels. They make actual in-line figure skating if you want to do specifically figure skating, but if you want regular in-line skates then anything thats considered good for slalom skating will work because they require a lot of control over the boot and direct power transfer. And make sure that the frame is rockered! Or is rockerable

    Is your wheel a flat set up? Also, do you have gymnastics experience? I just watched your single axel video and honestly, the thought of even spinning in the air like that with shoes is terrifying 😅

    • @SolidSkates
      @SolidSkates  3 месяца назад +1

      @@MrStrikemasterice it’s a rockered set up, 2mm on the front and back. I don’t have any experience that really applies to skating, I played football, wrestling and track. I’m sure they all help in their own way, but gymnastics would have been very helpful. Start practicing waltz jumps in your shoes! You’ll be doing them in your skates in no time
