So few comments on what is perhaps the most powerful explosion of energy in music. I never saw anyone get down and dirty quite like this. Still fucking amazing everytime I watch it
A kick ass bass with super human drumming. It doesn't get any better than this. I was totally blown away when I saw Simon tour with Jeff Beck's "There and back" tour in 1981, my first concert. I have yet to see a better drummer, except Carl Palmer. Two of the world's best, Simon Phillips and Carl Palmer. Wolfgang's bass, which is at least equal to Jaco or Stanley Clarke, make this one short video perhaps the best in my opinion. So sad that Simon settled for a dip shit band like Toto
Geronimo48185 show you what you know about music first off no one is even close to Stanley Clarke 2. Toto is one of the greatest bands of all time 3. grow up
I agree, he wasted away with a top 40 band like Toto. The bassist sounds like some of the top influences but doesn't play any harmonics, at least not here.
Toto is not a dip shit band, you just don’t like them, you didn’t even have to say anything, you didn’t have to call them a dip shit band. Personally, I love them. And @!are they aren’t a top 40 band, they had some big hits.

Wolfgang & Simon going up like crazy.
Love it. Always liked the way he plays. This one is Billy Cobham-esque. Wolfgang is very good beyond a doubt.
Simon très grand batteur 💪🙏👍 mon préféré
Jfc 30K views? This is amazing. Simon is brilliant (as always).
Amazing!
Very few fusion bass players play with a pick - nice to see!
