I have to say, you're hair color came out beautifully. I am also a very dark brown, and I was thinking of going a bit lighter because I am getting a bit grey at the roots. I thought maybe a lighter color may blend a bit more. But I don't have the patience you have! You did a fantastic job.
I know you said you need to apply the dye to unwashed hair but I already dyed my hair once and I'd washed it the day before. You said your hair hadnt been washed in one and a half days, but if I leave my hair unwashed for that long, it gets a little greasy. Is that still okay? Please answer soon, Suzi! Your video really helped. You're such a pro.
awesom video! if im going to dye my whole head should I start at the roots first or leave that to the last? and how long did it take you to do this and how long do you think it will take for a whole head?
i have black hair, but i dont want my hair as light as this, maybe a colour shades darker? what colour should i go for then? this tutorial is fab btw!! x
thanks suzi it really helps. I do my mum's hair colour and although her hair is short I always found that I have missed some place and the greys just peek through!
u have pretty long hair. love it. eemm.. do u have problem with hair loss..? or maybe do u have a trick to stop hair loss..? I have dry hair and fall out, should i use what products to overcome?
woot! thanks so much for the video! Just wondering though: 1. I noticed that you were applying the hair dye to your scalp as well. Does it not effect your skin? People say that the hair dye might go into your skin so it worries me when I colour my hair... 2. Did you use the whole tube just for your roots? How many tubes do you use for colouring your whole head? Thanks suzi!
You're too pro at this, i wouldnt have thought you dyed your own hair without the salon. Great tutorial! By the way, is there a way to find out which shade of brown suites your skin tone? i'm more like a medium beige.
@sonnywhiteful try a lighting shampoo. it will lift the colour by two shades. if it appears orange you can get a violet toner to neutralise and then colour. hope that helps
hi suzi, great tutorial. :D i was wondering if you needed that brush for the hair color or if you could just use your hands? (with gloves on of course)
this is a very good tutorial only comment is you should always apply the colour starting from the back and work your way to the front as the hair at the back is more resistant and takes longer to absorbe and develop the colour. if your colouring a full head and not just the roots then you would do the mid length and ends first and go back to colour the roots. you can then chose to do a colour bath to finish.
Thank you soooo much! I love your videos, I just subscribed. You are the very first person I have ever subscribed to! You are also very lovely. I have very dark hair so I am glad for this video. My hair is super long, Should I get double the amount of product? Thanks so much!
U r so pretty I love ur hair colour Iv got dark reddish brown hair I don't think I could use the dye ur showing here and achieve that lovely colour u have!!
Great video, I'm so dissapointed with drugstore dyes, they never turn out like they should and the colour is so flat, thanks to you I will be able to customize my colour with professional dye,so happy :))))
omg thanks so much for this tutorial.. goldwell hair dye is not sold in my sally's store here in the us. but i will see if they have a website.. one question though, when you color your roots, the hair that is already dyed, will it go lighter? thanks again for the tutorial..
Thank you Suzi! I just followed your tutorial and made my first video blog!! My hair was almost black and it's just came out wonderful after a failed Loreal box attempt! I didn't leave on for quite long enough but the colour is great! Gna follow up with highlights. I'm mixed race with dry naturally curly hair and it came out great. Thank you :) x
i just tried to dye my hair the same color.. but it failed because i think i had to use 2 tubes but i just used one.. and i know it can only work on virgin hair and mine is dyed already.. it was just a try.. i might bleach it next week^^ thanks for the vid x
thanks for this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was exactly what i've been looking for in a tutorial what deep treatment conditioner do you use? and how often do you use afterwards?
so they should have those supply at every sally's right? i just dyed my hair "shimmery gold" its the tube made for black hair and i used a 30 developer, but my hair didn't turn out so today i dyed it a dark ash blonde but just the cheap revlon colorstay, and it didn't do much either. i love your hair and color. so i'm going to try to find those supply. thanx.
do you have to bleach it first to achieve that colour, like that light? & is it convenient to use tinfoil? if yes, how do you use it. just wrap around your hair?
so i have like a reddish/brownish tone right now and my natural hair color is black. i'm thinking of dying it as you did in this tutorial, do you think it'll turn out like your hair color now?
Hey StyleSuzi, I love your hair color and look. You're so pretty! :) This video was so helpful and I was wondering about the eyebrows. I'm not sure if you dye yours but would you advise to dye the eyebrows as well? If so, how?
Hey suzi, if I wanted to get it less goldy looking and SLIGHTLY more ashy, what colour would you prescribe for this product? Is it because your hair is just newly dyed, which is why it looks brighter then the rest of your hair, or is it still like that in a few days/weeks? Please reply, thank you! :)
Hey there, the hair colour looks soo lovely on you! I wanted to ask, i've dyed my hair using Schwarzkopf XXL Red Passion, i have naturally very very dark brown (basically black) hair so it turned it a deep red which you can mainly see only under the sun, so im stuck whether to use the Goldwell topchic hair dye in a red shade to get it a more vibrant colour or if i use your shade will it come out like yours considering my current colour? Pleeeease answer when you can ^_^
How long do you let the color stay on before you wash it off? And do you use this to dye your eyebrown as well? My stylist did that once for me, it works and it look great. But I can't do it myself.
Do you actually need to use the whole tube just for the roots? thats a lot of colour!!! and do you refresh the colours at the mid lengths and ends often?
@lannieleful You might need a toner. Even if you have black hair, yours might have a harder time lightening. It can be due to your hair being healthier lol. Toners will take the orange/copper tones away and leave you with a more ash color.
i wanna ask i have like black/dark brown hair and if i do go for a lighter colour when i want to change back to my natural hair colour would that be possible? or would i have to dye it that colour agaiin?
Hey i have a question!(: my hair is really dark like chocolate brown, if i use those exact products your using on all my hair will it come out like yours? cause i have tried dying it light before it didnt effect it at all -.- but please respond to this pleasee! p.s i love your accent :D
i have medium brown hair i used that with 30 vol i think because i wasnt as dark as u i have got more lift whiich is rusty under some lights but on her blog suzi also used goldwell topchic 10P pastel pearl blonde which has a grey base to remove brass there doesnt seem to be a video of that though maybe suzi could reccomend a product to remove the brass?
Wow! You make it look so easy. If I tried I might have to end up calling 911 by the time I am done! Lol. I really do like your hair color and it looks really beautiful on you. Btw, you have a cute accent. ;) Subscribed!
this looks like it would be easy 2 follow, just wondering if this would take 2 dyed black hair?? my hairs naturally a medium kinda brown but its now black.... would this help lighten it back up?
@KAIIIYO there are products especially for dying eyebrows. Try Palty, it's a japanese product that works really well on asian hair and they have a whole line just for eyebrows.
Hi style suzi, I have the same hair color as yours. I just wanna ask a question, when your in the sun, does your hair shine orange? but when your in a building your hair looks really ash brown. Because my hair does that and it gets on my nerves looking like a sparkling carrot head in broad day light. please reply asap. Ill be waiting! ;)
I dyed my hair 3 months ago. It was by John Frieda, a light tinted red. But it came out a brownish red. Only a BIT red in the sun. Now it just looks kind of like a light brown with barely any tinted redish brown. My hair goes all the barely to my bra. If I use this product, will it turn out JUST like Suzi's? I've never gotten my hair like that color but always have. I DEFINITELY don't want to thin out or strip/bleach my hair. Idc who says I have to, theres no way I'm killing my hair like that
Thanks for this tutorial. I love your hair color! I'm not so sure I could pull it off, hehe. I saved it to my favorites just in case I'm brave enough to try it one day.
So, is this how you dye all of your hair or just the roots? Can this be done to lighten dyed black hair? I want this color sooo, bad but don't want to attempt it if it only works on virgin hair.
another question.....why did u use light ash brown n not ash blonde or medium ash blonde hair color? what will be the outcome if i use those colors on black hair.
Hello, I currently have the same hair colour as you do but am trying to achieve blonde...would you happen to have any suggestions for me please? Thank you I really appreciate it : )
Hi suzi, i just wonder how many ml of the One Shot creme peroxide 9% 30vol should we use?? cuz i can't find the exact same one as yours, what i found are coming with 200ml and 90ml, which one should i choose?? hope u can help!!! thx
I don't get it. Her roots turned blonde. But when I used it, my black roots just changed to brown. Yet her roots turned out so light and blends so well with the rest of her hair ! :/ I really don't know where I am going wrong..
the problem with buying online is i don't know what the actual colour looks like and i wouldn't know would it look gd on me.i wish there would be a colour chart or sth.nice tutorial, thanks.
@tonita88 if your hair color isn't already the color like hers then you should do your whole head first then do your roots. section off an inch of your roots to do last. for some reason your roots will develop faster thats why its lighter. hope that helps!
hi, my hairs were black, then they turned grey and i dye them regularly, natural medium brown or some times dark mahogany brown. i want to dye them like with professional hair colour, tell me the make , and these two shades names, goldwell or l'oreal plzzzzzzzz, its very important for me...i'm 37 years old by the way, in case it affects the hair coloure please ASAP answr me
Thanks for this amazing video! I used the same products and it worked perfectly! Instead of paying 80€ for the haridresser I just payed about 20€ for the products and items! I am so happy now! Greetings from Cologne :)
Can I use ultra light ash blonde on my natural black hair? I bought it from a store. Would it be the same as the profressional one? I don't really want my hair to turn orange or any weird color..
i have a question: how much does dying your hair damage it, if u like to flat iron it? i kinda wanna dye my hair a shade lighter (i have dark brown hair) but i dont kno if i want to give up straightening it.
hi may i ask, do i have to use up the whole tube or can i just pour out whatever amount that i need and keep the balance for future use ? anyone know pls help me ...thanks in advance ! and thank u suzi for making this vid!
Does it stain your skin brown? Coz if it does I'd smother on a load of Vaseline on!! Oh and did you use the same strength peroxide when you first dyed it from black? I love your hair colour! Ooo and if you wanted a lighter shade what would you increase? :)
@nnaayyaabb L'oreal 8.1 has A LOT of ash in it and I've heard it works good on dark hair! It's also much cheaper that the goldwell one! You may need to dye it at least twice until you get that lighter brown color thought. :)
Suzy, Could you, please, do another DIY? This one was amazing but I couldn't understand how you did the back of your head. Sorry for my english.... Kisses from Brazil
@StyleSuzi haha yes I realized that but after watching other videos and reading the comments, I'm not quite sure it will work on my stubborn jet-black hair. Would you recommend a hair stripper because I don't want to bleach my hair.
ohh i see ...ok. thank so much for your help. my hair looks like ombre coloring ....so even if i use light ash blonde on my golden blondeish brown hair it wont be a problem right. also....i dont have goldwell in my sally. any others suggestions....drugstore/ sallys hair colors.
hii suzi! one question :) is it alright to mix a hair colourant with a developer thats not foam? Because i have a hair color bottle thats supposed to be mixed with a foam developer... and i dont have one. But i DO have a developer thats not a foamy.. (the colourant and the developer is from two different brands) SO, is it alright to mix both together? i really dont want to buy anything else :/
The darker your hair, the more it takes to lighten it. So using light ash blonde usually lightens black hair to a light ash brown. If your hair was naturally brown it would only take a light ash brown to acheive the colour. Most blonde dyes have a tiny bit of bleach already in it.
I DID THE SAME...using Hortaleza light ash blonde coz i cant find top chic anywhere.my first dye job hurt my scalp like its irritated when i touch it and my roots look so light but the rest of my hair is still dark.what did i do wrong?i had it on for an hour already so it wasnt underdeveloped.
right now, i have my virgin hair, darkest brown, and i want to get the hair color a shade or two darker than the one featured in this video. what color would you recommend and what level of developer should i get? i would really appreciate it~pls and thank you~(:
thanks 4 tutorial, my hair is darkest brown, buy i already dye it in beige, obvious my hair don't got the color, know my hair look like little light brown but just little, so i wonder it i do the same steps is not gotta get blond, just light ash brown???
sorry if you answered this in the video i may have missed it but you said your natural hair colour is black so did you also have to die your eyebrows to match your hai rcolour?
Hi, I have a few questions. First, I couldnt find that brand in my sally's, will Wella be the same shade or similar? I got light ash blonde. Now the second, I bleached my hair and now I got an orangy yellow color, I have colored a few times now, but with no toners, now I am planning to get a blue, purple toner, should I color with the light ash blonde after???
my hair is currently (ion) dark golden brown. I really want to lighten my hair to this color (light ash blonde). Do I have to use color correction to wash out the current color on my hair?
Love hair color i wanted your color like bronde type and paid $120 us and always use same salon and person she did not do it lost the money. I am gonna try this thank you. Going to Sally's tomorrow my hair is dark brown n look t light Ginger:( she put some caramel highlights in u can't see but thanks
Question : Ok i have black natural hair color and im african american so i want to go light brown but not too light just between because i dont want to look wired ... what color or shade lighter should i get to get this color without bleaching my hair ? I HOPE YOU CAN ANSWER THIS ♥♥

thanks suzi it really helps.
I love your hair color, but how many ounces does the peroxide bottle have? 100ml I know you said use the whole bottle Thanks

Item arrived quickly and was as expected. Arganlife Shampoo is great!
I just dyed my hair medium brown recently. Will it work on my hair dyed or does it need to be on my natural hair color? Thanks!
this looks like it would be easy 2 follow, just wondering if this would take 2 dyed black hair?? my hairs naturally a medium kinda brown but its now black.... would this help lighten it back up?
@KAIIIYO there are products especially for dying eyebrows. Try Palty, it's a japanese product that works really well on asian hair and they have a whole line just for eyebrows.

Would a red work well on asian hair without bleach? I don't want to go light brown, and I like the look of the red Goldwell ones.
could u do a tutorial on how u got this hairstyle?? it looks really good
Thanks for this tutorial. I love your hair color! I'm not so sure I could pull it off, hehe. I saved it to my favorites just in case I'm brave enough to try it one day.

why did you choose to use one shot creme peroxide instead of the Goldwell Topchic developer lotion? are they the same?
Im wonder how many tubes of color did you use to paint your whole hair and what color did u used cuz it was black... Plz tell me! :)
Hello,
I currently have the same hair colour as you do but am trying to achieve blonde...would you happen to have any suggestions for me please? Thank you I really appreciate it : )

hi suzi you look really pretty here the make up is really natural compared to your normal one :)
OMG TNX SOO MUCH! this rlly helped!
btw, how much does each of the products cost that u used?
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
My hair is roughly the same length as yours, to do the full length how many tubes of each will I need?
Thanks xxx
you know the brush you used to mix the dye and apply the dye, did you get that from sallys too? ^^
You do have very beautiful hair and the color suits you so well!
hi, my hairs were black, then they turned grey and i dye them regularly, natural medium brown or some times dark mahogany brown. i want to dye them like with professional hair colour, tell me the make , and these two shades names, goldwell or l'oreal plzzzzzzzz, its very important for me...i'm 37 years old by the way, in case it affects the hair coloure please ASAP answr me
Thanks for this amazing video! I used the same products and it worked perfectly! Instead of paying 80€ for the haridresser I just payed about 20€ for the products and items! I am so happy now! Greetings from Cologne :)
I love the way you took the time to explained the steps to dying your hair and I love your voice. I'm def goin to subscribe to your channel :)
Can I use ultra light ash blonde on my natural black hair? I bought it from a store. Would it be the same as the profressional one? I don't really want my hair to turn orange or any weird color..
how many bottles of each would it take for you to do all of your hair?
i want to do this also, but i don't want to buy too much or too little.
@mintxrepairs u should go 12 perecent 9 percent is weak on black hair. tried it today.
Thankyou soo much! I've been searching for a good way to achieve this colour without having to bleach my hair beforehand ^o^
i have a question: how much does dying your hair damage it, if u like to flat iron it? i kinda wanna dye my hair a shade lighter (i have dark brown hair) but i dont kno if i want to give up straightening it.
Can you do this on hair that is dyed black? Or will you have to strip it first?
How did you dye all of your hair before this video? Did they bleach it and dye it at the salon?
Do you do the patch test everytime you color your hair even if you have used that same product before?
hi suzi... well i just wanna ask what if i already have a golden brown hair and wanted to dye it like your hair color how do achieve your color???
Thnx so much! this help a lot! :)
How much is the goldwell Topchic and the creme peroxide?
Peoples hair reacts differently to bleach and hair dye. What volume peroxide do you use?
hi may i ask, do i have to use up the whole tube or can i just pour out whatever amount that i need and keep the balance for future use ? anyone know pls help me ...thanks in advance ! and thank u suzi for making this vid!
i am confused i have black hair and i would love to have this hair color but would u need a dye thats light ash brown or light ash blonde?
Does it stain your skin brown? Coz if it does I'd smother on a load of Vaseline on!!
Oh and did you use the same strength peroxide when you first dyed it from black? I love your hair colour!
Ooo and if you wanted a lighter shade what would you increase? :)
hi suzi~ how much of the colouring and peroxide will i need to use if my hair is just around 4 inches pass my shoulder? Thankss
@nnaayyaabb
L'oreal 8.1 has A LOT of ash in it and I've heard it works good on dark hair! It's also much cheaper that the goldwell one! You may need to dye it at least twice until you get that lighter brown color thought. :)
You r hair is GORGEOUS. Really nice color too... I love it.
Suzy,
Could you, please, do another DIY?
This one was amazing but I couldn't understand how you did the back of your head.
Sorry for my english....
Kisses from Brazil
wow your hair is so so gorgeous, not just the colour either..
@StyleSuzi
haha yes I realized that but after watching other videos and reading the comments, I'm not quite sure it will work on my stubborn jet-black hair. Would you recommend a hair stripper because I don't want to bleach my hair.
ohh i see ...ok. thank so much for your help. my hair looks like ombre coloring ....so even if i use light ash blonde on my golden blondeish brown hair it wont be a problem right.

hii suzi! one question :)
is it alright to mix a hair colourant with a developer thats not foam? Because i have a hair color bottle thats supposed to be mixed with a foam developer... and i dont have one. But i DO have a developer thats not a foamy.. (the colourant and the developer is from two different brands) SO, is it alright to mix both together? i really dont want to buy anything else :/
The darker your hair, the more it takes to lighten it. So using light ash blonde usually lightens black hair to a light ash brown. If your hair was naturally brown it would only take a light ash brown to acheive the colour. Most blonde dyes have a tiny bit of bleach already in it.
A dónde puedo comprar el tinte que estás usando
I dyed my hair pitch black about 2 months ago so should I strip my hair color before dying it with that hair dye?
I love your hair! What do you do with your eyebrows? :D The color does not damage your hair? Because I really try to grow my hair out this time. :D
I DID THE SAME...using Hortaleza light ash blonde coz i cant find top chic anywhere.my first dye job hurt my scalp like its irritated when i touch it and my roots look so light but the rest of my hair is still dark.what did i do wrong?i had it on for an hour already so it wasnt underdeveloped.
right now, i have my virgin hair, darkest brown, and i want to get the hair color a shade or two darker than the one featured in this video. what color would you recommend and what level of developer should i get? i would really appreciate it~pls and thank you~(:

sorry if you answered this in the video i may have missed it but you said your natural hair colour is black so did you also have to die your eyebrows to match your hai rcolour?
Your voice is so soothing! Thanks for the tips.
Hey suzi, I am going to be buying the ION 9.31 blonde so do I have to buy the developer as well?
