@@BookRoast G there’s a new middle grade series that I think you’ll like, it has a magical school setting, tryouts and magical creatures, the first book is called Amari and the Night Brothers, I’ve heard great reviews!✨
You were allowed to buy books and went wild. I greatly appreciate this. Also if you like school setting books, one of my favourite series is the Maedoran Chronicles, by Lynette Noni. You have portals, magic that isn't magic, badass friend groups, romances that are built on friendship first, dragons, some time travel. All mostly set in a magic (that isn't magic) school. It is a complete series and it is great.
I absolutely Queen of Blood! I don't know why not more people talk about this series! It's so cool and I love the way the characters are presented and talk to each other. Especially the main character! And the world is so intriguing. I love the way the spirits are Zeus really made my day!!
The saga of the cat and the blanket was a great one 😂. I’m reading Home Before Dark right now and it’s so good, I’m constantly having a unsettling creepy feeling as I read
between you being a little off and my ears being plugged , one of your reviiews really shocked . It was for Home Before Dark. I heard you say , "she found the nose of her father". Just thought I'd share , gave me a smile.
When you talked about school settings I actually wanted to recommend Blood Song, so I was quite excited that you had already picked it up. I think it is a fantastic & highly underrated series! Also for the buying of so many books at a time, if that would bother you, I feel like you could easily couple the amount of books you buy to how many you read for reaching the Avatar State.
Everytime I pause for a few weeks to watch your videos or RUclips in general it is sooo much fun to come back to your channel! I really really enjoy your recommendations and just the way you are :) I hope you are good 🤗 By the way: I know you have them for quite some time already but I really love your glasses!! 😍
I did like Remote Control but I went in thinking she was literally going to be Death's adoptive daughter, like Discworld vibes, and I was slightly disappointed it wasn't like that. I really enjoyed the Summoner, love Nevermoor, love Rithmatist and I really liked the first Keeper of Lost Cities (slightly less keen on some of the others in the series). Can't wait to hear your thoughts!
Really loved this video! Adding so many books to my Wishlist as well! ❤️ You look so gorgeous and with that aesthetic background, it's all just a vibe! Thank you for videos and vlogs, they always inspire me and make me smile! Especially Zeus in this one, haha! Love ya! ❤️
Die sounds amazing and like something I would adore. Definitely need to check this out. I've read The Rithmatist and adored it. I am really impatient for the second book like SANDERSON I NEED IT NOW!!!! I hope you enjoy all of the books that you picked up
I'm on a budget but all of your recommendations sound so good dammit! Really want to get Rat Queens now. The Queen of Blood is a really interesting fantasy book which I would recommend because of its setting alone! It's so unique and the lore of this world is super fascinating ♡
Before you got to The Rithmatist I was going to recommend it because it is set in a school setting. The was the first Brandon Sanderson book I read and I LOVED it. I hope you enjoy it too. It does work as a stand alone but I believe he eventually plans to write a sequel for it.
I really enjoyed The Queen of Blood. I had amazing world building, and a great main protagonist who overcomes a lot and also makes mistakes as she goes. I am looking forward to reading the second in the series soon. And Rithmatist was lots of fun. Such a unique magic world.
I needed this video so much, been feeling down due to health issues but Momo and Zeus had me giggling all through your video - was there cat nip on that blanket ??
I enjoyed The Seep, though it was quite strange. Same with The Deep. And I LOVED Piranesi! There's actually an Italian painter named Piranesi whose artwork inspired the premise of the novel. Worth checking out.
The Sumner series is such a breath of fresh air to read. It’s nice, it’s cute, it’s funny and some of the creatures are really cute and I love their interactions between the humans and creatures. And the friendship aspect and the school aspect..... was greatly written... it was just a really fun read and it’s one of my favourite series
Zeus is incredibly feisty 😂 Year of the Witching was one of my favorite reads of 2020. I've heard very good things about Sarah Beth Durst, can't wait to start The Queen of Renthia series. 😍😍 Blood Song is my favorite book of all time.
Your post apocalyptic books are making me think you might enjoy Lexicon by Max Barry. For the school setting i have been hearing about about Vita Nostra and I might check it out. I also recently bought this book simply because of its title, Just One Damned Thing After Another (abt time travel i believe) my friend and I are still giggling about it. Also I found this mash up book of HP Lovecraft and Sherlock Holmes called the Cthulhu Casebooks and I am excited🤭. Happy reading 🤗
I FREAKING LOVE THE DIE GRAPHIC NOVELS!!! I'm about to read Volume 3 this month! Kieron Gillen's comics are amazing, I love his The Wicked & The Divine and Once & Future!!
I ended up giving We Are All the Same in the Dark 2 starts on GoodReads. I LOVED The Space Between Worlds (and Outliers)! I also have The Memory Police on my TBR - it sounds so unique. If you want a really amazing adult fantasy, check out Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse - best book I've read in years!. Nevermoor is the BEST middle-grade book!!! You might also check out The Forbidden Library by Django Wexler (his new adult fantasy series Ashes of the Sun is also amazing).
Before the Coffee Gets Cold is AMAZING, I've adored the both books so far, I hope you enjoy it too. It's a quietly beautiful read. A great haul, so many books that I either have on my tbr or now I wanna know what you think of them!
Your cats are so funny haha ♥️ So many of these books sound super interesting, I hope you'll love them ! The Queen of Blood definitely picked up my interest !
If you want a magic school setting you can check out the Black Magician trilogy by Trudi Canavan. It starts with The Magicians’ Guild. I liked the first two but still need to read the third haha I’m terrible at finishing series 😬🤓
Okay so I haven’t even finished this yet (but I’m LOVING it), and it seems to not be a traditional magic school but rather a summer camp, but I am getting SUCH nostalgic HP vibes from Amari and the Night Brothers! I feel like you might really like it as well!
A Middle Grade in a school setting that I underestimated and absolutely adored was Amari and The Night Brothers I think you will thoroughly enjoy this book! ❤️
Nevermoor is the first book I’ve read that gave me the same feeling I got when reading Harry Potter for the first time, and the series only gets better and better. You won’t get a lot of the school setting until the second book, but trust me, it’s worth the wait. (Also Jessica Townsend, the author, is a delight.) I really hope you like it! ♥️
Oh, I loved the Memory Police. Took me by surprise. I totally understand that it is not for everyone, but it was exactly for me. But after you said, that you got totally overboard with your book buying, I honestly expected even more books, so... good for you, Avatar-G :D
I read Piranesi last year, and when I finished it I thought I didn't like, but the book is still stucked in my head and the more time passes, the more my opinion about it changes 😅 It was a bit dragging at parts, but the overall plot was real good and interesting
Jurassic Park & Lost World are actually in my top books of all time! I enjoyed the movies but didn't think they were "the bee's knees", they were like 5/10 for me. The books and the movies share similar plot but for some reason, the way Crichton wrote them, it was that much more fascinating and scary. 10/10 on Jurassic Park, 9/10 on Lost World. Thanks for sharing your haul!! I want to pick some of these up!
Great Video Gia and your two cats 🐱 are so adorable but your poor chair Lol 😂😂 And question did you get the third book from A Curse So Dark And Lonely? It’s called A Vow So Bold and Deadly I’m dying to read it I Loved The Other two 😊
Nevermoor has a lot of potential! In my opinion it plays nicely with known story elements while bringing something totally unique. Even though it’s definitely not Harry Potter, it brings some of the same energy. The school becomes much more prevalent in book 2. I really hope you enjoy it :)
Ooh, the ‘Die’ graphic novel sounds so cool! I love that you are looking for some books set in schools, curious for your reading experiences! 🤗✨ Nevermoor is really nice!
If you like Prey, try Andromeda Strain by the same author. Prey and Andromeda Strain stay very sci-fi/speculative and amazingly relevant all these years later. I enjoyed both very much.
The graphic novel Die sounds really interesting, sounds alot like The Forbidden Game series by LJ Smith (She also wrote the Vampires Diaries series.) Have you tried books in the LitRpg genre? (Like Ready Player One.) It's become one of my favorite genres.)The Space Between Worlds sounds a bit like The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub (It's Scifi Fantasy with some horror elements.)Your kitty was seriously obsessed with subduing that blanket, what did it do to him? (Lol...just some silliness;))
I didn’t love the first keeper of the lostcities book- I liked it, didn’t love it- but the rest of the series is amazing! I never really loved Harry Potter myself but loved KotLC
So many good bookrecommendations! I actually prefer books without the dustjacket they look stunning and a bit old school 😻 and I cant read horror stories about animals either, I feel bad for the animals, like the cat in Pet Semetary it was not his fault that he was brought back from the dead and became creepy🙈
I enjoyed give the dark my love but it’s very like plague heavy which might be a bit of a yikes currently 😂 hope you enjoy the rest of the books the non fiction sound very interesting but I’ve heard some iffy things about Max Gladstone :/
Zeus woke up and chose VIOLENCE
For real tho 😂
🤣😂🤣😂 Your cat really has issues with that blanket 🤣😂🤣
This just made my day, new G video and it’s a book haul! 🤍 Zeus had some strong opinions on that blanket 😂
He always goes for it when I put it on the corner 😂
@@BookRoast G there’s a new middle grade series that I think you’ll like, it has a magical school setting, tryouts and magical creatures, the first book is called Amari and the Night Brothers, I’ve heard great reviews!✨
I think you will really enjoy Nevermoor. There is a grumpy cat that might be my favorite character.
That sounds awesome haha, like a book about my cat 😹
@@LoveVira I love grumpy cats!
Zeus really said "I am the main caracter"
If you're in a magical school setting mood and branching out to middle grade, I highly recommend Amari and the Night Brothers.

I heard the same thing! What was it meant to be, notes? LOL
@@Ehvelin she found his notes, gave me a chuckle
The One is so good! The show comes out on Netflix in March. Cannot wait!
Nevermoor is the only middle grade series that has managed to evoke those Harry Potter feels in me. It's absolutely fantastic. I hope you enjoy!
I read The Guest List in January and loved it! Also, your cats are just 😻

I needed this video so much, been feeling down due to health issues but Momo and Zeus had me giggling all through your video - was there cat nip on that blanket ??
This will go down in the Book Roast Hall of Fame as the funniest video ever, thanks to two felines and a blanket !!
I enjoyed The Seep, though it was quite strange. Same with The Deep.
And I LOVED Piranesi! There's actually an Italian painter named Piranesi whose artwork inspired the premise of the novel. Worth checking out.
Lots of great books :D added a bunch to my list. Love the kitty heh have to admire his motivation and dedication

I 💙 Nevermoor. You might also like Amari and the Night Brothers and The Strangeworlds Travel Agency.
The one was a great read! And the guest list reminds me of one of the Agatha Christie books
I hope you'll enjoy the Keeper of the Lost Cities, I absolutely love the series
I really like this setting! The fireplace and the bluish atmosphere is so relaxing
Omg Zeus is hilarious - such determination 🤣 Great mix of genres! I'm very curious to hear your opinions especially on the unpopular books ❤️

If We Were Villians is EXCELLENT!! Loved it!
I think the author of the Silent Patient has a new book. And I think it has a school setting but I'm not sure.
I FREAKING LOVE THE DIE GRAPHIC NOVELS!!! I'm about to read Volume 3 this month! Kieron Gillen's comics are amazing, I love his The Wicked & The Divine and Once & Future!!

Just got some really bad news, and you cheered me up with your video. No youtuber has been able to do that ever. Thank u!
Piranesi is absolutely brilliant, weird and wonderful but so much fun!
I may need to rewatch this. Zeus seems more fascinating to me, with his blanket killing shenanigans! LOL
The Seep definitely caught my eye 👀✨
Prey and Airframe are my two favourite Michael Creighton books. I think you might like Prey more than Timeline. I found it quite intriguing.
Also If We Were Villains is one of my fav books that I read last year! I hope you enjoy it!
I really liked prey, it was a good mystery/thrillerish! He def writes differently than any other author I’ve read.

Loved Nevermore and the Rithmatist and the book of Koli and the second one the third is out soon 🙌🏻
I want to know your thoughts on the Memory Police when you read it. I listened to the audio and I'm on the fence if I liked it or not.
Zeus is the ✨main character ✨ of this video
