Man, this is a blast from the past. Time to unlock everything once again.
The church bells are from the original game. It's just been so damn long. Also, they indicate a difficulty increase.
ahhhh gotcha.
The cararra marble is extremely important for speedrunning the game. It lets you bypass all the big locked doors you normally have to survive for 30 seconds after using a keycard to unlock. You completely bypass the wait period and the time it takes to find/farm the keycards.
Never seen baer play this game, it looks amazing! You make it look fun, great video!

When you turned off the music my soul died a little.
Usually when a dev randomly makes a mobile spin off it is to reach into the Asian market. Mobile is extremely popular over there, China especially. It is also often to test out mechanics that they aren't sure about putting in a main game. For example Apex Legends mobile had a whole system unique to it and now that EA has axed the mobile version they plan to move those mechanics into the main game.
Or, if you're the LEGO company, a sudden influx of Asian themed sets

The strat is run around memorize points of interest until you find the teleporter, activate the teleporter, run away killing on the way to the points of interest. Now you'll have the money to buy stuff and when you get back to the boss their solo. Easy peasey

Risk of rain has one of the best, if not the very best of soundtracks.
Risk of Rain 3 will be in 4D
For me, the first golden age of indies was in the late '80s, early '90s. Shareware titles
Even DOOM was an indie by today's standards.
In comparison, Splenky seems very recent! I'm getting old.

So why this? After Risk of Rain 2, why'd they make a remaster of the first game? I mean it's not bad, I love the updated graphics and the fact monsters have better tells on their attacks and their actual range.
Also, I don't think Huntress' bow is homing anymore(?) cause those Mini Imps weren't getting hit at all jumping over your projectiles
Huntress didn't have homing attacks in the first game, her whole gimmick was that she could move while using her abilities while other survivors were locked in place. The homing shots are purely a RoR2 thing which she got since her old gimmick became a base ability for all survivors and sprinting while shooting isn't nearly as strong.
As for why, I think it's because they knew they'd have to sell the IP to Gearbox to get out of their publishing contract and move onto a new project, and wanted to celebrate Risk of Rain one last time before they have to move on.
@@screamingcactus1753yeah, seems there's a lot of people here who don't actually know the original game. I think that alone speaks to why a remaster was a smart move.
So is no one telling him about the church bells or is he just ignoring chat? I don't get how he could go so long without anyone telling him.
Backseating is annoying
I explained them in a comment 2 days before you posted this. It's one of the ones he actually responded to.
I'm guessing most of chat either never played the original or doesn't remember, like him.
I loose all interest as soon as I hear mobile game, not because a game can't be enjoyed on mobile, there are emulators on PC as well. Its because 99% of all mobile games are just full of micro-transactions, over monetized or/and have stupid mechanics like time gates etc. I don't care about a 800% value pack, loot boxes and ****. I haven't installed a mobile game in years, those predatory practices completely turned me away from that platform, probably for ever. So I don't much care about a mobile Risk of Rain tbh. But for your information, its extremely easy to play mobile games on PC and even stream them.
Me personally, I wouldn't mind playing the mobile game if my hands didn't cramp up 3 minutes into any mobile game I've ever played. A blessing since I can't fall for the predatory marketing mobile games have but a curse since I can't ever enjoy mobile games even if 98% are terrible cash grabs anyways.
No one there to tell him the game audio is too loud? especially the background music.
He turns down the ingame sound effects a bit. But many people love the soundtrack and don't have an issue with it being this loud.
