A lot of the Risk of Rain 2 music uses similar melodies or motifs. These are some of the best soundtracks in gaming tbh.

RoRR was one of my highligts this year. First one didn't age terribly well after how much nicer RoR2 felt to play and progress, and this remake helped it a lot. Elites are currently very overtuned at higher difficulties, but the Trials almost alone made the purchase worthwhile.

Vinny, enjoying RoR2 more than the first is probably the least weird thing possible. They are very similar, but very different. I feel that RoR2 is just more approachable to most. Sure there are many that would disagree, but that's true about almost literally anything, so it means nothing.

for anyone wanting to try this game out i'd recommend tweaking both the damage numbers slightly in your favor, this game can be exceptionally brutal especially coming from risk of rain 2, and just having +25% damage and -25% damage taken for your first few playthroughs can be a great start to helping you adapt :)

Just in case you play this again: you can shoot much faster with the bandit if you mash the attack button instead of holding it 👍

the bandit run was absolutely gross 2 sacrificial knives and 2 hardlights i would love to have played that run too bad vinny didnt really utilize bandits utility a lot it gives you invisibility and also makes you invincible its very cheesable and i love it

Returns is kind of just the first game with some free DLC polish on top. New stage variants, relics, some new items, some RoR2 items and a few new survivors.

I play zoomed in, the fact you're not seeing more of the map gets less obtrusive when you get more familiar with them. It gives me a much better moment-to-moment control when there's a bunch of enemies around, on top of a great appreciation for the art and animation

Another run would be lovely, I personally find it more visually satisfactory than RoR2 when it comes to seeing just how much damage you do

While I prefer the original RoR to the sequel, I'm pretty sure "RoR2 is better" is a pretty popular opinion.
