This channel has become a favorite of mine. I immensely enjoyed the parade of cars and historical musings in the Mansions & Motorcars series. But, this video was engrossing for the personal and professional reflections of Mr. Welburn in the context of automotive styling of the era of cars I have always been most fond of.
Thank you for providing this kind of informational and entertaining content, and curating the history of these cars and the people behind them.

Good evening to you both. As expected this was a very interesting topic . As a boy of 10years 1963 ) I drew my ideas on cars of the future to Rover car's and Aston Martin . I had very encouraging replies from both . My parents sent me to Grammer School which unfortunately didn't encourage or approve of this "none academic " subject ! I was the first ever in the family to pass my 11 + which in theory put me in the most exclusive of Englands academia !!! So my parents almost insisted l should attend Grammer School. In my heart l knew that l wanted to follow Mr. Welburns example and to this day 60 years later , have kept all of my ideas , and some of them have stood the test of time ! Oh well ! C'est la vie !! Thank you Donald for kidnapping Mr. Welburn .And thanks to all at Audrain for allowing us the privilege of listening to the great man .

In GM tradition I shall call you Mr. Welburn. This talk absolutely blew my mind! Especially with the modern SUV hight compared to older cars. Thank you so much for sharing this!!! ❤️ 🍾🏁
(And the gentleman with the Corvette question, and great response! ) and the Aztec question! 😅❤️🏁🍾
    Thank you Donald!

Clearly Ed was able to make his childhood dream of designing cars come true and if only Donald might sacrifice his Operatic aspirations he might still make his childhood dream come true … Don’t stop Believ’n🦊

That was enthralling… intriguing, but most of all I am overwhelmingly impressed with the nature and personality of Ed. What a great man.

In my opinion, then the longer, larger, wider cars, the American car becomes a simple sub type of european cars...

Now it's all been reversed with the SUVS, back to utilitarian design no place for style.

C8 nice design, Ed your job was great, but…. The mechanic and the structure are not at the same level of your design.
Sorry about that , but your design it cannot be paired by the engine and performance, your design could be in a Maserati or Lambo even Ferrari, but ….
