    The yodel was a tribute dirge to the original singer of this song, who died tragically. The band is the original band that made this song popular, and Dimash doing this in concert revitalized the band's popularity. The piano player wrote this song. Dimash is the definition of a class act.

    • @staskim2331
      @staskim2331 3 года назад +7

      it is not yodel actually. in fact this is traditional kazakh (not only kazakh, but many other turk-language countries in this region) singing.

    Dimash's vocal dexterity is a once in a lifetime experience. Here, he goes from an Arabic type of Ululation (aka as Zaghareet), then somehow reached the Mount Everest of the song before tumbling downward without faltering in a 25 second vocal run without taking a single breath!!!

  • @Melindaroosky

    • @TyraThompsonOfficial
      @TyraThompsonOfficial  4 года назад +9

      I agree that he is using “glottal stop” to make that happen. However the effect that it creates is an insanely fast flipping and fluttering sound. I hope that clarifies what I meant by that. I was just too shook and caught off guard to formulate proper words 😂
      Regardless, thank you for pointing that out! He truly is the best!

    • @krujevo
      @krujevo 4 года назад +4

      @@TyraThompsonOfficial я пишу это тем, кто связан с музыкой. Когда песня только появилась, профессионалы спорили, какую технику он применил. В споре решили, что это "горловое пение", один из его видов.
      I write this to those who are connected with music. When the song first appeared, professionals debated what technique he used. In the dispute, it was decided that this is "throat singing", one of its types.
      Almost everyone knows what "yodel" is, but not everyone knows "throat singing". If they do, it's usually the Eastern type. But throat singing is much more. There are a lot of different sounds. They sing everywhere-in Africa, in Europe, in America, of course in Asia. I'm not sure about Australia =) and the singing is very different. For example, in Russia I have heard the Northern peoples (Chukchi, Yakuts), they sing completely different than in the South. But the same as in Canada =) In General, this is a very broad topic, a whole layer of folk art. I will give you two links, one most similar to what Dimash did, the other Northern singing from the channel dedicated to throat singing.

    The man with the white shirt in the audience who stood up at the end of the performance is Igor Krutoy, the most successful producer in the world. After watching Dimash he came out of retirement to produce songs for him, and even played the piano during some of his future performances. He did the same for Lara Fabian, another legendary singer and one of Dimash's idols. When you see him at the piano, that piano player is worth over $30 Billion.

      Have you ever heard someone and wondered if they have both lungs and gills so they can go forever and still get air somehow? I mean I know it's probably impolite to ask someone if they have both gills and lungs or have an extra oxygen tank feeding them air from somewhere but honestly it makes you wonder sometimes.
      Okay, so technique. Anyone says the technique shown on this was inferior needs professional help, possibly including the white coat with extra long sleeves that tie in the back.
      Stage presence. Just how. The connection he forges to a song and audience exceeds the abilities of pretty much everyone I've ever heard before. The musicians were looking at him like "I know we practised this but DAMN SKIPPY" or thoughts to that effect.
      You had a great reaction Tyra. Thanks. I know it's on your list but "Across Endless Dimensions" from Dimash (from the soundtrack of Creators: The Past) may be another to consider. Being a gentleman I will warn you about that one. It is in English though I find subtitles help. The visuals are stunning. Song wise it's Dimash.

    BTW, the highest note he hit here was an E6, but the highest note he ever hit was a D8 (with vibrato), off the piano keyboard - that's what you call whistle tone.

    I love, LOVE your reactions to Dimash. You're so genuine and are fascinated by the "little" subtleties of his voice and the emotions that they convey I can't help but smile. You pause the videos at the exact same time I would pause them :)

    Be warned, u can never be prepared for a dimash performance. Not only have you not seen everything he is capable of, he hasn’t finished expanding his capabilities. There is no best performance, only preference, he has a world of talent to share with us. I look forward to your next video 😊.

      Never. Expect the unexpected. Every time. You have only touched on 2 of the 12 languages Dimash sings, have not seen him play any instruments and have not seen the true reach of his range, whether low or high ends.... and have not witnessed genres like rnb, jazz, rock, opera...you've only seen drops in a very big bucket of talent. It's a deep rabbit hole to dive down into but it's a beautiful journey ❤ enjoy!!

    Hey Tyra 🙋‍♂️🤗. Thanks for the reaction. You are such a cute being to watch haha. But guess what... yeah... Sinful Passion is great....but you know how we say with Dimash...its not even his best again hahahaha. Let me recommend you few other performances of The D that will knock you down gently 😄. "Ogni Pietra" (FANCAM version, where you will get a closeup on his face all the time and see all techniques. Also this performance is in classical mode covering 4 singing ranges (bariton, tenor, mezzo and high soprano). "Daybreak" vocal diversity there is upscale. Duet "Drunken Concubine+Diva dance" here you will see Dimash's F7 and your brain will run away from you 😆. Enjoy

    Just face it. Dimash, with his soft, gentle voice builds up to a crescendo, and hangs on to it, and then.... Only God knows... When you think it can't be more, he goes on to even higher dimensions...
    He sings this like every woman wants to be made love to. That's all he does.
    Which isn't so little.🤯☺️😇🥰😍
    Any woman disagreeing with me?

    Great reaction to King Dimash,I highly recommend you react to Opera 2 next follow byThe Show Must Go On and Autumn Strong from Gloria Wu channel for English subs,back story on the lyrics and copyright free content,also Daididau and Daybreak from the channel,after you Daybreak from Gloria Wu channel see it again at Bastau Concert. Then see his original songs and performances composed with Igor Krustoy his best performance in my opinion is Olympico aka Ogni Pietra at Arnau concert is an Italian Masterpiece composed by Igor Krustoy specially for Dimash’s unique voice for the European Games.Then see his last performances Your Love,We are One and Across Endless Dimensions.
    Dimash will always 🤯🤯🤯.

    New Sub...loved, loved your reaction! Not to worry, my dear, the Dimash Experience only gets more and more breathtaking. Isn't he ethereal? I have lived in and traveled to many places and loved each country's music but Dimash is a kingdom unto himself. He speaks 7 languages, I believe, and plays as many instruments. Try the Swan Song, I call it.....

    The guy in the white shirt standing at the end is Igor Krutoy is a very famous Russian composer who came out of semi retirement to work with D. He’s since written some masterpieces for D and often accompanies him on the piano. These performances are a must see for you. ♥️😍♥️

    Hello, I’m from Brazil! The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique (traditional cazaq singing). Is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist? Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

    Hey Tyra a big hello from Australia, love your reactions beautiful like you. You need a to have a Doctor in da house, Dimash is a rule upon himself. There's no one like him and at the moment, there won't be anyone else. His vocal ability is insane, his stage presence is commanding. True artistry in telling the story of the song

    Love your reactions! I also suggest you check out “Opera 2” from his Singer 2017 performance. It will blow your mind - well, the part of your mind that hasn’t exploded from listening to his previous performances - but watch the extended one where his father surprises him by showing up. If that doesn’t make you cry, nothing will! Greetings from Florida.

    I love how we can see every emotion on your face: from shock, to awe, to love, to fear, to disgust, back to awe . . . like, AALLLLL the emotions haha. It's how we all feel, especially singers/musically inclined folks, cos you just get more how amazingly technical his performances are. Really enjoying going on this journey with you :-)
