Thanks for the interview. I’ve been an Atlantic fan all my life. They are known for being a legendary RnB label, but there seems to be a lot of artists that are missing from the anniversary. Ruth Brown, Solomon Burke and Chuck Willis to name a few.

Thanks for getting Craig in front of us and starting to open up his history, direction and future of Atlantic music. We know he's a vinyl guy and has our best interests. Naturally everyone waited for the Elephant in the room? Doing an in house and audiophile 75th series shows they have the consumer first and foremost, not just crappy digital vinyl records for the dollar! The Atlantic HBO special was outstanding just the quality of those early 70's bands couldn't be matched. Thank you Michael for another outstanding interview of information.

Thank you Michael for another great video. Atlantic has always been my favorite label, and since the 50s when I started collecting 45s, they have led the way. The Drifters, Aretha, CSN, Led Zepp, and all the rest. As far as vinyl "disappearing" in the 90s, I never noticed that. I never stopped spinning and buying LPs and singles. In the 90s, I bought up collections and went to swap meets. And then it 'comes back'. For me, it never left. And I already have it all. And none of the music is compressed, louded, or clipped. Even my early CDs are fine. No "remasters", no clipped crap. Again, thanks Michael.

A documentary on the late and great Tom Dowd has some great interviews with Jerry Wexler and Ahmet Ertegun about Dowd's incredible work during the 60's, early 70's heyday at Atlantic Records.

Great interview Michael. Hopefully you can let us know what the outcome was of some of those concerns you wanted to discuss with Craig off camera. I have heard AP's Selling England, PHil Collins Face Value and Mingus Blues & Roots. They are all the new reference versions on vinyl in my opinion. I have an original German pressing of Selling England (the one with the gatefold cover) and compered it to the AP UHQR45. There was some comparable aspects but the AP sounds unreal. Atlantic should release Les McCann and Bill Harris's Swiss Movement LP. This is one that comes to mind that needs to be released on the UHQR45 format. It sounds great to begin with. Another one I would like to see released on UHQR or premium release on 33RPM, is Jean Luc Ponty's Cosmic Messenger.

Thnks for this Michael. There's something in here perhaps hinted at but not explored... Craig's passion for vinyl is often alluded to here and elsewhere but, aside from Chad's series, the titles Atlantic are putting out themselves on vinyl for their anniversary are digitally-sourced aren't they? An approach that stands in contrast to Rhino for example who at least have put out reasonably priced 33rpm analogue-sourced reissues of acts like Van Halen, Talking Heads, and Aerosmith for example. Excepting the newer records, is it not fair to ask why he would not make the effort to go analogue for the in-house series for such a marquee anniversary?

Perhaps the most poignant statement you made that really resonated with me, from a previous episode, the LP is the only medium that has been illustrated to last over Time. Yet I won't be buying new albums, if they are mastered from digital sources. I stopped buying records in '82. Spent a decade+ in the NAV, flying for a living, and just didn't have the Time to listen or even play my guitar. When I separated, analog as a recording medium was very rare. I liked the tape saturation distortion, via analog.

Besides the implementation of sound Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Psychoacoustics, and curiosity from my coursework in 4 undergrads vs the silly amounts and mysticism the manufacturers impart to snow the uneducated, lay People. I am still a vinyl fan but I stopped buying them because of their bad pressing and mastering quality, especially the so called audiophile pressings, even from this man who became untouchable in the us vinyl industry, . Unfortunately I know a lot of sellers who told me that I am not the only one. They told me that there are more and more people who are even selling their turntables because of this. The reason why I am saying this is because I would like to save vinyl for the future. So please be careful and think proactive. Thank you
