I don't think a determination has been made yet about another season being given the go-ahead yet. I suppose it depends on the kind of viewership and ratings it gets on Netflix, however, I have also heard that 5 seasons are planned should everything work out. I keep telling everyone I know to watch it so that a solid fanbase is built.

Can we also just talk about how the light "moves" around Marilla as she approaches Anne in the woods? Normally we see that the lighting is stationary in most scenes, but in this one, as the spots of lights "moves" around Marilla, it subconsciously tells the audience that something is changing. Beautiful.
This show was so brilliantly rendered and performed. You find so many clever details in almost every scene. So many symbols, and you can watch over and over again and always find new things. It is really a piece of art.

As someone who grew up with Anne Shirley's story I must say, this is by far the best adaptation of it yet. They manage to create an adorable Anne but don't get side tracked with her character... Anne Shirley is a symbol of everything the sociaty around her despises which is why she has the this story is so effective... because it criticises social norms and challenges them head on, all through an innocent seemingly helpless girl :D
I did not realise the symbolic use of light - your analysis was amazing! But did hear that they made a point only to use either natural or candle light when filming scenes. Matthew was about to go to comfort Anne, but Marilla said that she was the one that needed to go. The other touching moment was when Marilla put her hand around Anne - as if it was something she was very unaccustomed to doing - it showed how hard it was for Marilla to show her emotions but also how hard she was trying.

this was a wonderful analysis! taking this interpretation of light as both certainty and transformation, it adds another layer to the dance scene in episode 5 of season 3, with something both changing for Anne and foreshadowing the certainty she and Gilbert have at the end of the season/series
Anne is a truly complexed character and the entire depiction of her in the show is truly beautiful. The music truly adds more emotional heaviness throughout the show.

Something about this show gives such a vibe to it. It has nostalgia even if I never saw or read Anne of Green gables but I've seen similar ones in Swedish. I've missed shows in this era and setting, A farm in the 1800s it's a shame they dont do as many as they did in the 70s when that was a popular theme in Sweden.
This just reminded me of being in English class when we had to study movies deeply to write about them we had to focus on really small details like this
