Lovely to see the old baler churning out bales so fast at that age. Just goes to show old machinery still has a place on farms and square bales are very handy.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it I get tempted every now and again to get a newer baler but then this one does another year so well and I forget about a newer one. Square bales are where the premium is but getting the hell to lift them is the kicker.
Hay is hard to beat for cash. That crop was too much though I’d always aim for 150 bales an acre or so. I need some storage freed up to store some next year
70 year old tech doing a grand job. 👍🏻

The old baler is going well
the hay crop was unbelievable, at 4 pound a bale short term cash crop it would be hard to beat.

Good wee video 👍 the old baler pumping out the bales there 💪 does look as if the knives on the plunger could do with a sharpen and maybe set 🤔👍
@@bobpaterson1845 probably could do with a sharpen. the wooden bushings are a bit worn aswell you always notice it most when baling straw.
