The hate for Creed was undeserved. They had some great music.
Agreed. Its not my favorite music, but they are no Nickelback.
@@unusual686 hey I think Nickelback is outstanding too
Agreed, but this is one of the worst songs, and probably one of the songs that brought them hate
@@Followme556 agreed, both Creed and Nickelback got a lot of undeserved hatred
I feel like it's because the vocals verge on parody with how ridiculous they sound when you really listen to them.
"modern music is not supposed to make me cry." This song is 23 years old now.
It's still modern to me, damn it! 😭
It’s still considered modern music. Now Beethoven would be considered a different era.
Fucking hell I feel old
you made me feel so old right now 😭
oh man 23...im getting old
I nearly lost my wife and my first son during the birth. This song was playing through my head. Love Creed but this song has always been the one that hit harder than the rest
I'm glad you didn't lose them. Hope all is well now.
@@lyngusrobb5323 thank you. Yes they're great now. Just makes you great full for what you have. I use to be a really selfish person.
@@slap_A_flamingo We all were brother sadly it takes something like your story for us to snap out of it, I have a similar story that made me a better person.
@@jameslong1644 indeed. Share?
@@slap_A_flamingo Let's just say I almost lost my kids and later my wife because of anger issues due to PTSD that was aggravated by a ex that did everything in her power to make things next to impossible for my family to come together I had gotten remarried and had 2 more sons, at one point I had what I can only say was an out of body experience as I watched myself go nuts over nothing thank God a buddy calmly questioned why I was acting the way I was and pointed out that I was destroying my family and self. I later saw another buddy who happened to be a very successful shrink and after 5 minutes of telling him how I had been acting made me look at myself in the mirror he also told me to go to the VA and get my records which I did and to my surprise the military diagnosed me with PTSD and all the goodies that come with it and I had no idea about it. I was dealing with my family like I was dealing with my squad and as a bonus my hormones' had gotten all screwed up which put me in a high state of anxiety and bad mood 24 hours a day. I was in a tornado of emotional anger 24 hours a day and didn't even know it. To this day 20 something years later it makes me very sad how I acted thankfully my sons were young enough to forgive and forget today all is good.
I love this song! Such passion. I understand completely, Lex. You guys will make great parents, and there is no right way of doing things. I remember putting our son in his bassinet after bringing him home and then looking at my wife and saying what do we do now?
Amen, same here.
I swear when we brought my son home and laid him down I couldn't help but come stare at him every 10 minutes 🤣 man I couldn't believe he was there. He was beautiful. He's almost 2. They grow up so fast 😢
@@calmdownbeavis7039 Absolutely. I can totally relate to this, although my son is now 36.
And every day since...🤘
I remember my daughter being born. She was so little and there I was a bodybuilder holding her. I held her for hours. My wife finally made put her down. She said thanks for the help, but, I was going to spoil her. I have never stopped.
Congratulations to you BOTH. Creed is my guilty pleasure....as an 80s kid, and 80s metal head.....I'm not supposed to like Creed......but I do. Creed got me through a lot of "stuff" in my life in the early 2000s. Creed is uplifting, at least to me. You can hear in Scott's lyrics, that's he's literally battling with himself and pouring his heart out. You can hear in Scott's singing the emotions he feels through these lyrics.
"Not supposed to like them?" Really? How much you want to bet over half of Alter Bridge fans were Creed fans? More than Mayfield 4 fans? Creed was an excellent band, but people like to hate on Stapp, which is stupid.
I just recently start hanging around metal crowds and you're not wrong it's like some were just mentally trained to not like a band like Creed I'm guessing bc of positive beliefs and messages? Like I said I'm new to the scene but seems pretty stupid for anyone to not like Creed.
@@bonecold4387 the worst thing is those people think that their favourite metal is far superior than any other. Like chill. There is no such thing like superiority when it comes to music.
90s its harder than lousy 80s crap
Amen. Same here. but I discovered Creed a lot later in life. Like in 2017...And I am, was a metal head since 2006
"Torn", "My Sacrifice", "My Own Prison", "One Last Breath", "One".. But my favorite is "Pity For A Dime", by Creed
I never see anyone mention "To whom it may concern"
I always liked "One"....this band had a lot to say..and they sounded so good saying it, that the message was lost to the sound...a message that has fallen out of favor, I'm sorry to say...do you follow me Rick?
@@raymo6795 The chorus for One slaps
Pity is their most underrated song.
All great choices
I've always loved this song and strangely forgot about it. Really nice to hear it again! How fitting for this time of your lives.
Lex, buckle up, your emotions will definitely be compared to riding a rollercoaster! Stay buckled...the emotional ride doesn't stop after your baby is born. Congrats you two 💞 You will be lovely parents 💞
You guys are going to be awesome parents your really good people with love in your hearts. Prayers heading your way let God bless you and your new family 🙏
I became a father when this song was out. This song reminds me of my son. He's 22 now.
This made me cry for you guys, so excited and proud for y’all 💖
Same here! Tears of joy for them!
Same-🥲🙂
Same here... so happy for them. 😎
Those firstfewseconds were the heartbeat of his child before it was born.
I would have to say, Creed reminds me of one of those "one hit wonder bands" that come and go . . . but instead they were a "three hit albums wonder band" . . . that came on with a vengence and then left us. Their music was in a genre of their own...spectacular songs, great band and singer. Saw them in concert back in the late 90's . . . . fabulous! This video brought back the nostalgia of that time.
I'm hoping for some new music from Creed! Maybe a "Alterd Creed"🤷♂️
@@Montyhugo Creeltermonti🤣😭
@@calmdownbeavis7039 🤔I got to really think about that one 🥺😉
Creed had three multiple platinum selling albums, two of which got to No. 1 in the US and four singles which made the top 10.
@@jimidave6281 My point exactly . . . what a band!
Approximately 22 years ago when my wife told me we were pregnant with our first child I constantly used to listen to this song doing soul searching, found myself with tears running down my face more often than not; crazy considering you have never met this person just yet, but the love is already limitless.
Couple of days ago we celebrated her 21st birthday, and all I can say is thank you God, it has been a blessing, she continues to light my soul and not only has she made me a happier person, but a much better man.
Having kids is nothing special. Billions have done it. People seem to think having a kid is some sort of miracle LOL Especially when there's several billion of us already and only making more. You dip your wick and that's it. Not rocket science and the earth doesn't need billions more of us when we can't even look after what we've got now.
I love your comment more then anything right now as I am fighting with my inner self and father figure. I only want to be the best but I feel so far from that.
This was written for his first child. Isn't it beautiful?☮️♥️🙏 For your first baby ❤️
What a perfect song for you guys to hear at the perfect time 🥰
Great song. I used to do a lot of karaoke and I added to my list when my sons were being born. People told me they could feel the love through the song. It's definitely a father's ballad.
I know the meaning of this song was about Scott's baby but it had a different meaning for me and I used it for the song that I danced with my younger sister at her wedding. We were a bucket of tears. Creed is AMAZING!!! Saw them live several times. Some people tried to call them Christian Rock but.....Scott was an alcoholic and drug addict for a while. Then he got clean and sober and came back JACKED as hell!!
I’ll never understand why people forget and dismiss Creed. Maybe it’s because back then they were the biggest band in the world and their music got overplayed too much. But there’s a reason for that. Their music comes straight from the heart and it’s damn good. This song is a masterpiece that I didn’t know until I got back into the band, won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song in 2001. Creed is an award-winning band that deserves it. Nothing can touch me like their music and Scott Stapp’s passion bleeds into his voice. Pure magic.
💛
Welcome my son. I loved this song when it came out. I was pregnant with my second son. I cried too lex
She smirks when he says "I'll show you love". She's going to be a great mom.
When I had my baby, we drove home from the hospital to this song. It was powerful and emotional for sure!!
This song never gets old very classic!!!
C‘mon you two… watching reaction videos isn’t supposed to make me cry like this! But I’m so happy for you.🥰
Great love song for a unborn child 🕊️💗
You should react to the guitarist's solo album "TREMONTI"s song "Marching in Time" that he wrote for his daughter when she was born ..... another amazing love letter to his baby girl ❤❤
The hate they receive is so undeserved, Scott had his issues BUT he is bright eyed & bushy tailed, in love w life and music again !!! He puts on one hell of a performance live as well as the other guys now in Alter Bridge w Myles - WE HAVE 4 AMAZING bands/solo artists that began with this nucleus of THIS band... so grateful for them all !!!
Brad, you’re never ready , then you just are. This song was big around the time we were blessed to have twin boys. Def didn’t think I was ready for that but then they’re born and then you are,. Good luck, God Bless
Creed My Sacrifice
Congratulations, on your pregnancy! I cry EVERYTIME I hear this song, and my son is 15 now, lol. Prayers on a safe pregnancy and delivery, God bless your family. 🙏 🧸 🚼🍼 🎉🎊🎈💐
I remember when my son was born. It’s scary and feelings of doubt is there. Just know it’s all completely normal. Your both going to be great parents. Congratulations to the both of you.
You guys are entering the best part of your life enjoy
I remember that feeling when we brought my first daughter home. I was exhausted and she fell asleep on my chest and so did I in my recliner. Now after 4 surgeries for flHCC she seems to be cancer free. And she is so much better than me.
Oh my God, that's both horrifying that her (and you all) had to go through this but also so amazing that she managed to overcome this!
wishing you all the best!
Wife here..Love Love Love this Creed classic ..My FAVORITE of their's by far..Thanks Guys!!
Remember this...The greatest thing a father can do for his children is love their mother.
Lex is beginning to show that wonderful glow. Y'all are ready and will be great parents. It's the most awesome gift that can be given, a new innocent life from y'all. Stay safe and many blessing be upon y'all and the new arrival that's on its way.
Lex ur the strong emotional one,Brad is the wide open one that will close the gap and take care of this family. You two are meant to be and compliment each other with ur life struggles! !! R.D W.
Singer had drug addiction issues.. sadly divorced after several kids.. but that desire to be the father he wanted to be and unconditional love for his new child is perfectly reflected in this song. I hope the best for him.. his song writing skills are amazing.
One of my fav songs of the last 20 years...
I remember my brother getting the CD in 1999 i was in 1st grade. Some music just stays with you forever!
My husband and I had just become new parents when this song was released. I remember how scary it was to be pregnant, standing at the precipitous of parenthood and wondering if I was up to the task. Raising a child is the most challenging and most rewarding thing I have ever done. It taught me patience that I thought I could never have and was the most character building experience of my life. It changes you and makes you a better person. You’re gonna be amazing parents! Enjoy the ride! :)
Creed really gets some unnecessary hate. When you compare what passes for music today in the radio,...these guys were legendary.
4 albums and 3 where top shelf hits. They where damn good.
@@zacharyradford5552 come on! I know I’m a Creed Stan but even Full Circle was phenomenal.. A Thousand Faces should have been one of their biggest songs..
This song came out just a couple months before first kid was born and it wrecks me every time I hear it.
This song reminds me so much of my son, cause it came out right after I found out I was going to be a dad for the first time.
Don't feel bad for crying Lex I cry every time I hear this song at 52 yrs old. As I use to sing it ( badily ) to my kids when they were little. The songs takes me right back there every time I hear it to this day. Another song that makes me cry every time is Rod Stewart's Forever Young
Not only is Creed a Christian band, but this was written by the lead singer for his first child. It always makes me think of my son. ❤️❤️
Creed is not a Christian band..wish they were
They're not a Christi band lol
Nope, Mark is atheist I believe. Scott might personally be Christian. Idk tho.
@@keithberns5 Lol he's a very open christian, My Own Prison is actually a pretty good example if you look at the lyrics
Scott wrote this when he found out he was having a son. He has since written the prequel to this song called Name. You should check it out!!!
There are so many Creed/Scott Stapp songs to check out:
Justify
Slow Suicide

Being a dad will come natural to a good man as yourself. I got custody at birth of my daughter as her mom had issues. I asked the nurse ( very nervously) what do I do now. She said " take her home and love her " she's 15 now and that was that realistic advice.
I’m trying to put myself in your shoes … I can’t imagine doing it alone. I was mortified driving home from the hospital on the Long Island Expressway with my 2-day-old son in the back, even with his mom sitting next to him. Drivers are crazy out there (and I don’t live there anymore). My son, now also age 15, is doing well. Credit for good parenting - though I had lots of help in my case.
@@scottNNJ Thank you and it's sounds like you did a wonderful job yourself. I was built like Marky Mark when she was born, I was 45. About 2 months later I was 138 lbs, I was a wreck but I figured it out. Unfortunately now I have the dad bod but as long as my daughter is safe and happy. P.S. Thank you for the kind words.
Gahhhh!!! Your reactions are not supposed to make US cry!! ❤️👏👏❤️
This song was a huge hit when i found out i was to have a son. I believe this song affects many of us the same. The doubts of first time parenthood and the joy of bringing life into this world.
this song always pulls the heart strings and emotions that are buried deep.
I am an older dude with two grown kids and have heard this tune many many times. Every single time I hear this song my feels come out 110%! I start bawling right at the get go too. I get choked up trying to hold them back. So good. Is anyone really ever ready to have kids but before you know it they are grown up and we get older and wish to have those days back. So cherish the time with your kids right from the start. I know it sounds cliché but it is true. Time starts to fly and before we know it there is the last thing in life that none of us are ever ready for....death.
This song will hit you deep when you find out for the first time you are going to be a father.
song makes me cry.( pathetic i’m a 52 yr old man). But it came out when my daughter was born. Now makes me STILL cry, but not just for my daughter, but for ( because) my grandkids.
😯 Wow.. First time hearing the news.
Congratulations to you both! And to the unborn for their conception into life.. Y'all are blessed, and I hope your experience is filled with lots of joy.
I'm envious. Always aspired to have offspring.
NO ONE is every ready to become a parent until the day that they pick up and hold their baby and then something inside of you changes. It's like the child somehow magically imbues you with the power.
And I say this as the father of 6. I say this as a grand father who has seen that switch get turned on inside of my own children when they held their babies the first time. I've seen it. I've felt it.
You think you've got it together...and then that first cry from your child as they're born. It's both the most exhilarating, terrifying and humbling sound you'll ever here.
This band gets alot of grief but they had a purpose and they delivered the goods when it was needed.
Congrats on the pregnancy. As a father of 9 I can tell you that the worry never actually leaves, but if you actually poor your heart into your kids you will be successful, whatever that looks like in the end. Doing the same for 8 grandkids now.
Creed has some great music. He's the son of a Preacher. His music is just filled with his soul ❤️
Y'all gonna have beautiful babies. Congrats you 2. Life is beautiful!
23 years since this song came out and it still hits me somewhere deep. All the more as I get older, and the insecurities I have about fatherhood just keep getting stronger. When I was younger I was worried that I might not be the best provider, that coming from a poor family meant any child of mine would have to struggle as much if not more than I did if I couldn't figure out something to do with my life that paid well. Time goes by, still haven't found my place as far as any sort of career goes, getting ot that age where any woman I might find who'd be interested in me probably already has kids so there'd be no time for "figuring it out," I'd have to be "on" from day one. And now it's not just the "provider" thing I'm struggling with but having learned my dad had had multiple affairs over the first 30+ years of being married to my mom, and people telling me all my life that I'm just like him, and all the myriad ways my introverted, socially awkward ass can't seem to "connect" with people...it's got me feeling like I'd be doomed to completely screw up any kid who suffered the misfortune of having me as a father figure. So when Scott belts out that line about his only wish, his one demand, is that his kid is nothing like him...that cuts deep. On the one hand I feel like if the kid's not like me I couldn't relate to him/her in any way but if he/she IS like me he'/he is in for a shittastic roller coaster of a life and I don't want that to happen.
Oh, sweet Lex! I know you have always been moved by music, but all the moms here will likely agree on this. Your emotional range will be all over the place throughout your pregnancy. There will be songs, commercials, a kind word from a stranger and a host of other things that will move you like NEVER before! It's really beautiful for us to watch you experience life even more fully. 💕
For our precious Brad & Lex and couch baby-❤️🥺🤗
Reminds me of the exact second my wife told me she was pregnant.....never been so nervous scared and proud in my life.....fast forward 7 years later hes is an absolute doll and such an amazin person and man honestly i couldnt be prouder of that boy......maybe one day you will see this noah and youll know daddy loved you unconditionally ❤❤❤❤❤
This song always brings happy memories, I dedicated it to my son when he was born. 💙

It doesnt change with age. I am almost 58 and I have a 6 month old girl that was planned for. I probably havent heard this song in at least 10 years but I know every word from before. It hit me this time too. My son was probably 8 when this first came out. hes 31 now.
I used to listen to creed all the time with my dad an he went out of his way to explain what this song actually meant cause I was young, we went to a concert together when I was older it was absolutely awesome! When he's gone I'll listen to this an cry forsure

Some songs have the ability to cut straight to your soul the second they begin. This is one of them.
Beautiful song. I'm happy for you two, three.
These 2 were meant for each other fr. Awesome couple!
I don't know why it's a sin to express your faith in your music, but I think he has a great voice and the band rocks.
And hit ya right in the soul is exactly what music is supposed to do, Lex!
Still Love this song and his voice. Creeds music was on popular and radio stations for years. The lead singer had his ups and downs like most people and his music is still just as good and most of it is meaningful lyrics.
At 62 I still remember the feelings of hearing I’m fixing to be a father. This song takes me back every time.
Lex your tender heart makes us all love you. I am glad you and Brad found each other, and are awaiting your first child.
Great song choice, obviously, for your current circumstance.
I had not heard any of their music for quite awhile, but loved them when they were popular and even saw them in concert.

It's amazing how everything is on recording these days. This will be a beautiful moment to look back on with your child when they're a teenager to see their parents as young hopeful loving expecting parents getting emotional about wanting the best for their child. ❤️
I sung this song at karaoke to my little girl when she was 3yrs old, I have no doubt you'll be the parents you need to be with arms wide open! Great song no doubt...

Thank you for finding Creed! I love them! You are Creed People.
Hey guys, I want to congratulate you on the pregnancy. I am so happy for you both and hope all goes well the entire pregnancy and birth. It is natural to feel a little apprehensive. Most everyone I know including myself feels that way with their first child. Parenting skills will come naturally to most people so you two will do fine. I am sure you will have plenty of people in your lives, family and friends that can answer any questions should you have any as you learn along the way but it is such a great experience being a parent as you watch them grow from a baby, to a toddler, to the first day of school, and on and on. Many people get a better understanding of how fast time does fly after becoming parents. Treasure each and everyday and stage of their lives because time does fly. Take a lot of pictures along the way and videos. The greatest gift anyone can ever receive in life is a child and the greatest gift a child can receive in life until they too become a parent one day, is to have been born to great loving parents to teach them how to be a good person and surround them with loving people. You two will do great and I am so happy for you both. I have been a subscriber for awhile and have enjoyed your journey here and feel like I know you both from your videos.
Creed ; " What's this Life for"
This is still my favorite Creed song. It's perfect! Great reaction.
