I have a Volvo v40, D2. It only has one HP pump. No pump in the tank. To the problem. something hammered in the car, the sound increases with the engine speed. You can clearly feel the fuel lines shaking violently. Found algae in the tank. Cleaned the tank, the lines and changed the fuel filter. But the sound and shakings are still there. If I disconnect the return hose, the shaking and the sound disappear. Is the whole HP pump broken or what do you think?😀 i can drive the car as usual. No Engine lights or limp home.
Yes, it controls fuel to the rail and injectors essentially so if it's faulty or stuck, you have minimal fuel, or the incorrect volume coming through to the rails and youll have a sluggish throttle response. I'm about to change mine because of this.

Hi.. if this valve is blocked or stuck in a closed position , will it stop the fuel from going to the common rail?
I have fuel coming in the high pressure pump but nothing comes out to the rail
