I hadn't thought about it that way, but that's not entirely a bad comparison.
Neil is just next level. When I first heard he also did Potter Puppet Pals and The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny I couldn't believe it at first and made me even more amazed at his various talents.

I like when the smash mouth part comes in Mouth Dreams, even with the muting you can still hear Criken yell NO in pure horror to what he was listening to at that moment
The best part is that all these songs sound genuinely amazing, it’s honestly amazing and they inflict emotion.
But they’re also a hilarious combo each time.
I could not describe it better for years of trying than to describe these songs as "inflicting" emotion.
Half that album is pure memes, the other half is pure unironic bangers.

It’s so impressive to me how Neil just injects a random bit of horror into this with Amore.
I think the beauty of Cicierega's work isn't just that it's good or entertaining, but that as soon as you hear these mashup songs and albums your first reaction is to go show someone else and see their reaction to it as well. It's infectious!
I hope someone told him that _Mouth Dreams_ ends on dial-up sounds because the letters with stars in the album art spell out "Nice Modems."

Mouth dreams is one of my albums of the past 3 years, with all that's going on it's been kinda cathartic, and the Criken version is my fav one to listen to, since it's kinda like listening with someone else.
I made my own version of this a while back, with the music edited back in for the muted bits, but I don't have it on my new computer, so thanks for this!

this album is so epic. I feel like neil has influenced me so much, as well as MC chris, and they have no influence or ripple in the common space at all. It makes me sad because they speak to me to much, but no one seems to absorb them like i do.

This is the perfect music to play in a carpool with people you hate.
The most logical reaction to a Mouth Album is equal parts admiration and disgust.
Every track is a new sword of damocles and the lyrical portion of it kicking in is the horse hair snapping.
You don't know what to expect or when to expect it. All you know is that it's hanging over you.
Always love it when the chat is added and they just spam emotes based on the lyrics of the song.

the hilarious thing about the vod mute is that it started playing classical music as if it was a silent film and even the lyrics were practically talking for him
Thank you so much for bringing this experience to me. I remember listening to these albums over time, and loving them more and more, with Mouth Dreams in particular being a favorite that staggered me. Listening to it for the first time, in the vacuum of nothing, and not knowing what to expect, was no lie a spiritual experience for me. And I really, really enjoyed being able to see Criken and chat go through it now, in real-time. So, I appreciate it.

My Mouth (It was my first "favorite" song for about a month. I still really like it.)
Cannibals (Second "favorite", also for about a month.)
Yahoo (it was my third "favorite" for about a week)
Spongerock (Fourth "Favorite" for a few days)
And then from here I listened to the whole album and Aammoorree started sounding really good for about a week
Johnny was always pretty good
And then my favorite song in the entire album. I had to listen to it a few times, but it really grew on me...
And I don't even like the instrument, and now there's 10,000 of them!
If Nightmovin' was longer, it'd top my list. But Ribs is probably the best one for me. It's so god damned creative and has so many different tracks blended and sampled to perfection.

I feel like Neil has really dove into the concept of weaving in unreasonably deep cross-theming in the past couple Mouth albums. In T.I.M.E he evokes very emotional 80s gay positivity in a harsh world; in the Hall Of The Jimmy King he basically outlines the process of an alcoholic's son having a meltdown over the generational trauma inflicted on him.
It just makes ya think, the dude is so fucking creative and it breaks your brain the more you listen to these magnificent audial shitposts
