"Get Happy" is a nice track and quite funny but now every time I have a dissociative episode it loops in my head

I became numb to the jokes and just listen to these songs casually now, then you watch normal guys reacting, and you remember "oh yea! this is insane!"
I'm not alone!
First time through is for giggles.
Second time through is to watch a friend's reaction.
Hundredth time through is because you find out this music is insanely easy to work / study too because it just grooves so well and you never have to think about the lyrics.
(And because you have been listening to the album on repeat 😅)

If anyone wants to know the bizarre history of how Neil evolved throughout the years with his music and relationship with the internet, look up "Neil Cicierega, Internet Person - XOXO Festival (2016)". It's Neil himself telling his story for 20 minutes on stage to a festival audience. He had a *fascinating* early introduction to the internet as a kid, plus it's neat to see and hear this actual person speak live.
Oh, that's a good one to watch!

I think of all the Mouth Quadrilogy, this has the least individual stand out songs.... However is the best start to finish listening experience.

Guess I need to run through em all again. There are some great standalones here, so I guess the others just have more.
In my opinion, this album is more for the funny, but there's still some really good songs, like Ribs, Closerflies and Whitehouse. IMO this album is still better than Silence, mainly because there's only 1 song on the album I love (Piss) and there's only 4 songs I like (Goodbye, Space Monkey Mafia, Best, It's), while all the others are eh (and then there's Orgonon Gurlz...)

Oddly enough this video is one of my favorite ways to listen to Mouth Dreams, feels like I maintain a bit more sanity if I've got other people reacting to these songs while I listen to them for the 40th time

The release of mouth dreams was synched dangerously well with me listening to the Spirit Phone album with increased frequency, so I had just assumed it was an older album I'd forgotten the title of until the thumbnail to this reaction video tempted me to click.
I was like "hmm, maybe I'll just watch their reactions to some familiar songs, then click off"

nice!!! I thought there was a little more going on. love that track. On wikipedia, as well as many youtube videos, there are pretty exhaustive and accurate listings of the samples used on each track but I have to see that sample credited for that track so thanks for pointing it out here.

Can confirm Neil's powers come from ADHD. A lot of people with ADHD have "brain radio" that plays eerily vivid yet glitchy song recollections, often looping verses, or only playing background music,.... or sometimes, seamless transitioning between two unrelated songs. If you keep a notepad documenting these events, you get the worlds best mashup ideas. And anyone with the patience to pick up music editing as a hobby will basically be like Neil, but with less of a head start. And of course he adds his own special spin on the concept of a mashup.
