+Weldar yeah that's the genius of it right!? It feels kind of satirical in a way - on the surface it's funny, but it's pointing out something much deeper. It's a great example of the power of music to affect mood. I actually think T.I.M.E is kinda a masterpiece.
I'm sort of disappointed you guys didn't notice the sentence mixing in Shit to turn My Way into a song a bout pooping. "This time Imma let it all come out, this time Imma stand up and *shhhhhht*"
Oh wow! That completely went over my head. I still think some of my favourite moments were the sentence mixing in Bustin: -"Sleeping makes me feel good!" -"I ain't 'fraid of no bed." -"FREAKY GHOST BED!"
Hmm, guess my brain messed up there. The Internet corrects me in stating that she had a song called 'Paint It Black', but it was on her 'Be Not Nobody' album. I still stand by Neil's genius status though!
"Bustin" has its own official video by Neil if you haven't seen it yet! Also, if you didn't know, "The Starting Line" has a triple meaning! (1.) It's a lyric that the song samples from "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" ("reluctantly crouched at the starting line...") (2.) *EVERY LYRIC sampled in "The Startling Line" is the "STARTING LINE" (the opening lyric) of the song it's from!!!* (3.) It's the first track (the "starting line") of the album! -Paintspot Infez Wasabi!
I hope you guys recognized the extra instruments neil added during the linkin park/doobie brothers mashup including bass, percussion, synth, just so he could make the first 8 bars of What a Fool Believes sound like a full song lol
I have such vivid memories of the first time I heard so many of these that watching other people react is fucking Great lol, I also yelled "god his voice is SO BAD" in response to ACVC so I feel vindicated now
I really enjoyed the clean editing and your insightful observations about the wild things Neil does and how he really does operate on a different level with music! And your reactions were absolutely priceless and endearing.
Hot fuck, sitting through this with your first experience after so long listening to this album on repeat brought me to tears of joy, great listening to it with you lads' pure enjoyment and analysis of this pop cultural zeitgeist. An absolute pleasure.
It was really late, and I was super jet lagged when I first saw the “Fly Away” video, and I couldn’t figure out whether the whole thing was a fever dream the next day.
If anyone wants to know the weird history of how Neil evolved over time RE: music & the internet, look up "Neil Cicierega, Internet Person - XOXO Festival (2016)". It's Neil himself telling his story for 20 min on stage to an audience. He had a *fascinating* intro to the internet as a kid, plus it's neat to see/hear this person speak IRL.
+⧹.̷.シ.⃥.⧸ When that happens we begin to run into issues, everything from copyright to not being able to hear us talk. We try and have it as loud as possible without impeding.
If you listen closely to the lyrics of Wow Wow you'll realize that Will Smith was having a stroke mid-song
Toebel
Actually its about gay cowboy sex with Loveless
“PEN AND A PAD”
Wow wow is to be honest a really good mashup
"I'm the slickest they is! I'm the slickest they is! I'm the _slickiwickiwickest_ they is!"
T.I.M.E. is a goddamn masterpiece.
AGREED!
You're not wrong, Weldar. That's a great point.
Who knew something so dense, reflective, and complex could stem from the Village People!?

I just realised that Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" was on an album named "Paint It Black", and he mashed it up with "Back In Black". Genius!
+SteltekOne what album is this?
Hmm, guess my brain messed up there. The Internet corrects me in stating that she had a song called 'Paint It Black', but it was on her 'Be Not Nobody' album. I still stand by Neil's genius status though!
An absolute adventure, this whole album was. Gotta give it up to the guy, Neil knocked it out of the park. Nice "insight," fellas. ;)
This album is one of the slickest there is
The slicki-wikki-wikkest there is
Their faces at 10:22 are exactly how I felt when I first heard T.I.M.E.
You could do album reactions to Mouth Sounds & Mouth Silence, too! It don't really matter if it's just reactions, you're pretty entertaining.
+TheHerpOfDerp thanks! Could make Chris listen to them. :P

Wasabi!
That lyric is actually from The Distance by CAKE. “The world is a vampire” is the one from Bullet with Butterfly Wings. =)

You two were a goddamn joy ta watch, i was hoping someone would do something like this
Cheers! All hail Neil.
Awww, no love for 300MB?
+rowanaj We just didn't say anything really that interesting about the song. 😥

ALBUM OF THE FUCKING YEAR
This was a REALLY good video. Thank you for this.
This was so fun to watch some genuine first reactions to hearing the insanity that is that album.
I have such vivid memories of the first time I heard so many of these that watching other people react is fucking Great lol, I also yelled "god his voice is SO BAD" in response to ACVC so I feel vindicated now
Do Spirit Phone-- some interesting songs there!
Absolutely one of the best videos online. Let me relive the magic of hearing these bangers for the first time.
Yeah, this video was about my reaction to Mouth Moods too.
Your laughter and commentary added so much to the experience. I love it.
Most underrated channel I'm subscribed to, you guys are great. :)
+Htimelines ❤
I’ve already listened to the album too many times alone, I’m happy to see it through new eyes

If you're actually interested in all the songs he tried to mash together that didn't work, he has some of his 'outtakes' on his music YT channel.
I watched both this and Fanfare, but never realized you're the same person. My mind is blown.
Any plans to do something similar for Dreams?
Perhaps?
Just found this channel and y'all are rad :D
I think you're rad, Dave.
This was actually very well done! Good on you guys!
:) Thanks, Darren. We always have (way too much) fun doing First Taste.
I'm glad I was able to find this in my browser history... I just couldn't get it to come up when searching RUclips.
NOTHING WRONG WITH CORN
13:19 to be fair no track in Mouth Silence had any Smash Mouth heavy influence, unless you listened closely (especially with Wndrwll)
Listen to the entire album at 1000x speed.
This album's feeling is the same as the emotion that I get from Harrison Ford.
It was really late, and I was super jet lagged when I first saw the “Fly Away” video, and I couldn’t figure out whether the whole thing was a fever dream the next day.

The dude on the right sounds like he's going to cough up a lung every time he laughs
I'm surprised that you guys heard Neil's Fly Away song but not Dear Dinosaur, Smooth, or Bustin before listening to Mouth Moods
5:32 LOL
Somebody is eating some chocolate candy at 2:17. I'm watching you, dudes!
Any plans for listening to Mouth Dreams?
now do the outakes on his like, 3rd youtube channel
Actually I did think Dear Dinosaur was Bon Jovi's Dead or Alive at first, so there is something to that.
It's coming at 4:52.
8:26 that cracks me up
Mouth Dreams now?
4:43 Number 9
don't know if birthmark or smeared milky way
11:31 When your dad cusses inside of the bathroom....
You guys skipped the Harrison Ford part...
Don't you get it? How many he tries to mix and not have it work? NONE!! He's brilliant.
The AC/DC slander is unacceptable.
You should probably make it so the song is more audible, so people can hear exactly what they're reacting to better
