- Happy Halloween, all!
Today I'll be taking you along some of the knitting up of a scarf for a friend. Knitting itself always felt like magic to me; you wave two sticks and some string around and get a garment. But today there's a little something special just for the holiday!
Have a wonderfully spooky, and safe holiday!
I’m working up a Ravenclaw scarf (book version colors) and using this pattern and it’s turning out amazing! I’ll be definitely working up a Gryffindor one next!
Hey there! I really love how the scarf is looking like. Could you maybe show us step by step how you knit it? I am quite a beginner and already bought the yarn.. but i just don't know how you knit in that type of style. I hope you still see this comment ❤
The scarf follows the pattern indicated in the book 'Charmed Knits' by Alison Hansel. Simply put, it is a single rib knit scarf, knitted flat on size 8 needles.
The rows are as follows:
20 of house color
2 of alternate color
4 of house color
2 of alternate
Repeat for 15 'blocks' or until desired length.
If you are referring to style, I knit English (or thrown) style. There are many excellent videos on the method.
Thank you so so much ❤💕
Well made!!
Thank you!
Honestly I love it!
Thanks so much!
Hi! The scarf looks awesome, how did you manage that the sides don’t roll themselves in?
She used the single rib stitch knitting pattern
(K1 then P1,repeat)
She said in the start
What is the name for the color, please?
The yarn used is Lion Brand Wool -Ease in colors black and goldenrod.
How long did it take to knit this scarf in total? I want to knit a hogwarts scarf for a Christmas gift but I’m not sure if it’ll be completed in time
Yeah, i also wanna know, i am still learning how to knit, i totally haven’t tried it but i think this could be a good example..i wanna make a hogwarts scarf for the first time
Do you cut the yarn as you go, or do you just weave it in?
I cut the yarn as I go and will either pause halfway to weave it in with a tapestry needle, or do all weaving in at the end. I happened to wait until the end to do the weaving in of ends at the finish of the scarf body.
