Lowering the action and lighter strings was a game changer for me. As much as I love my Gibson J45, I just couldn't progress with the barre chords. Changing to my Fender parlour with super low action and slimmer neck has opened everything up to me. Thanks so much.
You are the best teacher. I have bought both courses on udemy and I get so much help and your teaching way is easy to play. I use guitar to reduce my mental stress and afterwords to do my coding studies from motivations which i get.
Thank you, Henry! I appreciate your "small bites" approach--just sticking with C/F for a few minutes at a time is so easy I'm going to do it now! I've been putting off barre chords for years. Thanks for your fine teaching skills (ex: lowering the action--no one teaches that very important step!), and I loved your magic trick! ;0
All good advice here. It's easier to play a barre chord farther away from the 'nut' so a capo is a good thing at the beginning. There IS a trade off using lighter gauge strings as the 'rich' tones are compromised and the sound a little less pleasing and the high strings sound a bit thin. However, once finger strength is gained and the knowledge of how to barre is acquired you can then changed back to a heavier gauge set... They ARE indeed....MUST LEARN chords!
Hey Henry, I purchased your electric guitar course on Udemy and am looking forward to getting into it one of these days! Life. Oh and hallelujah! Thanks for this video. Just curious, is this free course new info from the Udemy course? Should I access that too? Subbed and looking forward to your course.
