Hi Peter, As I’m far from being mechanically minded I suggest you join the Jaguar Ireland Facebook group and there’s also a UK & Eire group on the Jaguarforums.com where I go when I need a question answered 🤗
You need to try an X351. These are truly amazing . Mine is the 3.0 d which wafts along in sheer luxury and 50 mpg. £245 road tax, all Aluminium Incredible car which is a keeper. I did look at the 5.0 V8 but they were all thrashed and tatty ⚠️

Wow, great video. I must confess I knew nothing about the Daimler model. It was very advanced for a 2007. I have a Jaguar XF and too be honest it’s an embarrassment compared to when Jaguar / Daimler built proper cars. I also have a Maserati Quattroporte, it’s redeeming feature versus this model is that the privacy blinds in the rear are electric. Apart from that of course it isn’t a patch on this. It should prove to be a great investment for those who appreciate the quality that a heritage model delivers. 👍
Daimler name was already used on previous generations. X308 even had a SUPER V8 name. Great automobile. I can say it as I owned it for long period as my Sunday drive.
@@detonator2112 I agree that they have made some nice cars but like most big car makers they are all on the bland side, apart from the ones you mentioned and some of the big SUVs!

Absolutely stunning car Paul, congrats. Funnily enough I'm looking to buy an XJ for a while now, don't know how I missed this one on Carzone! All the Irish cars seem to have exceptionally high mileage, seriously thinking of bringing one in from accross the water, not sure if that's a good idea or not?
Lucky for me so 😂 I fully back your idea of buying one but might I suggest if you are going to buy one you look to Japan as their cars are rust free and there won’t be much of a difference in import and shipping costs but the car will be so much better 🤗
Stunning car Paul very rare, shame about the headlining being buttoned up you need to get that sorted as devalues the car expensive to sort as either the front or rear screen has to be removed, a member of my family has one, different colour but same car, it’s totally like new and as you would know worth a lot of money the queen had one and believe it’s still in royal family, doesn’t deserve to be driven hard,
@@davemansell9329yes the headlining will be done as soon as I can get the right people sorted to do it 🤗 Then it’ll be fit for Royalty be driven in it 😉
Awesome car, i have a Super v-8 portfolio and it is quite similar. All you are missing is the leaping cat hood ornament, still looks epic without it - could this be because the Daimler does not use the jaguar ornament ? You have true classic, congratulations! Amazing colour as well !
That's a gorgeous looking motor. Looking for an XJ at the moment for my Dad as a long over due update to his S-Type. Love the colour and spec, definitely the supercharged engine is a dream sound and power but think it's going to have to be a 3litre 03/4 as the road tax is 700+ a year for 05 onwards 🤢 never mind the fuel bill 🤪 Great video and an absolute dream car, enjoy miles of smiles 👍
Thank you very much for your comments. I think the combination of colour and supercharged engine plus all the luxury makes it a tough car to beat for the money. The road tax on it is €1,807 but worth it 🤗

Daimler sold a hefty number of total XJ40s. By the time the X350/358 was on sale, only a tiny percentage of cars sold had the Daimler badge onto them. Brand is forgotten now. My dad had a 91 Daimler, 4.0 liter inline six
You’re correct Juan 👍 Only 853 Daimlers were made in the X350/358 so it’s a rare car. Thank for the info and I hope you have fond memories of your father’s 91 Daimler 🙌

Hi Paul - I have the pre-production prototype of the X350 model XJR. It has all the features your car has except the rear picnic tables. It has now covered 138,000 miles and still looks like new and runs like clockwork. What a shame Jaguar (Tata) felt the need to throw away all those years of Jaguar tradition and allow themselves to make 'jelly mold' cars just like everybody else!
I have a 2005 black super 8. Absolutely love her! Not in as fine condition as yours. They really do fly. And handle remarkably well. They need very good quality tyres!! Cheers

The Daimler name was last used on the XJ40, X300 and X308 and the X350 was the last XJ to use the Daimler name and was only available in super V8 version, which is your car, Jaguar dropped all Daimler version from the X351 onwards.
Jaguar used the Daimler brand pretty much constantly from the time the two companies merged until 2009. There was no gap from 1960 until they stopped using the brand in 2009.
The Garnet colour is beautiful. Those Sepang wheels really bring it up to date but the spec’ and refinement generally, is off the scale. I have an XKR so am familiar with the J gate and power plant, but if I wanted a saloon I wouldn’t want to look further than this stunning model.

Beautiful beautiful car. Only issue I saw was the sagging headlining above the rear seat held up with pins. Get that fixed and it's A1. Usual Jaguar fault so not surprised to see it.

A lovely car. I had two different X300's between 1995 and 2015. I have always liked the x350 aswell, and the super V8 is the top prize. If it isn't personal, I would be curious to know what you paid. I think that car would be hard to beat regardless of how much money you spend.

It was an all new chassis and body and the first one made in full aluminium. I’ve never seen any mention of the Granada! Thanks for watching anyway Dicky 😊
No Jaguar or Daimler was ever built on a Granada chassis although the X-Type utilised Mondeo and the S-Type used a US Lincoln chassis. Perhaps some 'expert' spinning you a yarn.😊

Is there anything I should be watching out for, I got stung badly with a 2016 XF that had an engine made of chocolate, just turned into a car shaped paperweight in one go!
I know the roof liner can sag, but mechanically what should I be looking out for?
I'm also in Ireland
Hi Peter,
As I’m far from being mechanically minded I suggest you join the Jaguar Ireland Facebook group and there’s also a UK & Eire group on the Jaguarforums.com where I go when I need a question answered 🤗
And thanks for liking the car 😉👍
Must be one of the best buys now - a gorgeous and beautiful car !! Greetings from Norway.
Amazing video and even better to see a fellow Irish man doing it keep up the good work 🙏
Thanks Evan, it’s good to get positive feedback from a fellow Irishman 🤗
I’m working on doing videos on my other cars soon so standby 😉👍
You need to try an X351.
These are truly amazing .
Mine is the 3.0 d which wafts along in sheer luxury and 50 mpg. £245 road tax, all Aluminium
Incredible car which is a keeper.
I did look at the 5.0 V8 but they were all thrashed and tatty ⚠️
I recall Clarkson getting good mileage in them alright 👍
I have a 2007 Daimler super v8 in black but that colour is lovely ❤❤
Cheers Stephen! Black is lovely too on them 🤗
Stunning looking car. I've been looking at one for a while now
Look no longer, just buy one, you won’t regret it 😉
Beautiful car of nearly another era . Magnificent colour which highlights the elegant silhouette .
Thanks Richard, I agree with you on the colour 🙌
Great car and colour is fantastic.I haven't seen another one in that colour.Spectacular 👍
Thanks Kevin, I appreciate that 👍
I have the original seeking booklet and the car it uses has the exact same exterior and interior as my car. The only difference being the wheels it uses are the standard ones. I’m told it’s the colour used by the Royals so I’m in good company 😉👍
That you so much for your lovely words! I’m quite an admirer of the Quattroporte! I believe it’s exhaust note to be hard to equal 😊👍
Stunning car I had one sold it two years ago . But now got the xj350 miss the Daimler 😢
Thank you Anthony! These cars have grown into their looks over the last few years and get admiring glances everywhere they go 🤗
Absolutely Stuning. Many happy years to you both.
Thank you so much! 😄👍
What a beauty....that colour is simply gorgeous, and the Sepangs are the best ....happy motoring.
Daimler name was already used on previous generations. X308 even had a SUPER V8 name. Great automobile. I can say it as I owned it for long period as my Sunday drive.
Cheers Alex, I’ve come to see that you’re indeed correct 👍
I hope you have great memories of your car 🙌
Probably the most beautiful sedan model ever made. Take this from a Mercedes fanboy.
Thank you sir, kind words indeed 🙌😃
MERCEDES HASN'T MADE A BEAUTIFUL CAR IN THE LAST 20 YEARS !
THIS NEW CRAP CAN'T COMPETE WITH THE 80s & 90s MERCEDES !
@@makoshark69x96 Mercedes have some pretty good newer designs. AMG GT looks amazing and the previous version of CLS Shooting Brake was very cool.
@@makoshark69x96 I think most car makers have lost their way and not only Mercedes, in fairness!
@@detonator2112 I agree that they have made some nice cars but like most big car makers they are all on the bland side, apart from the ones you mentioned and some of the big SUVs!
It is one lovely looking car . I think may favourite Jaguar was the Jaguar XJ C and The Daimler Double six variant of it . They would been launched in the times of the Jaguar XJ 6 and XJ 12 series 2
Thanks very much 👍😊
Yes the Double Six was one of my favourite cars to read about in car magazines back in the day but they come with huge operating costs and I already have a V12 (not a Jag) in my garage which I’ll be doing a video on shortly so stay tuned 🤗
Lovely car in super condition. It was a toss up as to whether I bought one of these or my later 5.0V8 supercharged XJ. I think either way i was a winner.
Couldn't agree more, on both your comments 😄👍
Good luck with car, it must be a monster on the road! 👹
Lucky for me so 😂
I fully back your idea of buying one but might I suggest if you are going to buy one you look to Japan as their cars are rust free and there won’t be much of a difference in import and shipping costs but the car will be so much better 🤗
And thanks for the nice comment too 😉
@@paulgart thanks Paul, I hadn't even thought of that. I wonder are the VRT & associated charges higher for a Japanese vehicle?
It should be exactly the same as the UK & Japan are both ‘third countries’ as far as the EU is concerned. Happy hunting for that big Cat 😺
Just a true beauty... was brought up on these Jags/Daimlers !!
Cheers 🙌
You must have had to sell family member to be able to afford to tax and insure that in the Republic of Ireland. Fair play to you.
Just had to sell one of my kidneys Mark but well worth it 😂😂😂
Incredible beautiful, elegant and classy car. Please look after it!!!!!
Thanks and yes I will 😉👍
Beautiful,,,gotta be one of the best luxury performance cars in the world
And that’s gotta be the best comment ever 😂
Cheers 🙌
Stunning car Paul very rare, shame about the headlining being buttoned up you need to get that sorted as devalues the car expensive to sort as either the front or rear screen has to be removed, a member of my family has one, different colour but same car, it’s totally like new and as you would know worth a lot of money the queen had one and believe it’s still in royal family, doesn’t deserve to be driven hard,
@@davemansell9329yes the headlining will be done as soon as I can get the right people sorted to do it 🤗
Then it’ll be fit for Royalty be driven in it 😉
Perfection on wheels on 4 wheels
Cheers Colin 🙌
If you do ever decide to sell Paul..... I know a nice home for it in Malahide !!!!
Cheers Colm! Hope you can make Cars & Coffee in Dundalk on Sunday week 🤗
Awesome car, i have a Super v-8 portfolio and it is quite similar. All you are missing is the leaping cat hood ornament, still looks epic without it - could this be because the Daimler does not use the jaguar ornament ? You have true classic, congratulations! Amazing colour as well !
Thanks yet again, yes you are correct the Daimler does not use the “Leaper” cat but in any event they were all banned by the EU in 2005!
Never seen that color before on an xj
It’s Garnet and it’s the same colour as appears in the sales booklet that I got with the car but I’ve never seen one like it in person
Stunning! Got a 2005 XJ8 Sovereign 4.2 and that’s another few levels up! So nice 👍👍
The road tax on it is €1,807 but worth it 🤗
Never heard? Noo ! Its my dream car since ı was 15 now ı have 06 s-type executive plus and ım in love, next year or years ı wanna buy this beautiful x350 or x358 and use both, but sad to say its hard to find daimler super v8 in turkey we have 2.7d 3.0 3.5 4.2 options but 4.2 s/c and daimler trim level so low numbers and people dont sell them beautiful car ı personally recommend control rear wheel bearing ıts same part s-type and xj series and they wear so early have a nice day from turkey
Thank you Serhad for that very interesting information! Yes they are a very rare car indeed with most of the cars built having gone to the USA.
This car is currently in the garage having a number of things done including control arms etc .. the work needed to keep older cars on the road never stops 😂
BTW I’ve been to Turkey twice on business but never on holidays so it’s on my list to return as a holiday seeker 😉👍
Beautiful car, hope it gives you many years and miles of pleasure.
What do they cost to maintain and run?
Thanks Jako, I just booked it into the main dealer for an oil service which should be under €500 which isn't too bad! Parts are not that expensive judging from what I've read on the forums!
Cheers@@paulgart I'll look forward to seeing more posts on the car
Simply magnificent 👌...love Daimler...and that colour 😍 is fantastic too ....a real gem.of class and elegance!!❤
Thank you for those lovely comments with which I agree wholeheartedly 😃👍
Thank you Bob for those nice words 🤗
I agree with you as it was the colour that made up my mind to buy it 🙌
@@paulgart an absolute pleasure!
Beautiful, pure understated class 👍
Glad you think so! 🤗
I own a 2001 vanden pla.you right.to me this car is like a rolls royce.when comes to class and luxury.
Thank you for those kind words and look after your Vanden Plas, it’s a special motor 👍
Daimler sold a hefty number of total XJ40s. By the time the X350/358 was on sale, only a tiny percentage of cars sold had the Daimler badge onto them. Brand is forgotten now. My dad had a 91 Daimler, 4.0 liter inline six
You’re correct Juan 👍
Only 853 Daimlers were made in the X350/358 so it’s a rare car. Thank for the info and I hope you have fond memories of your father’s 91 Daimler 🙌
rare as hens teeth those aluminium Daimlers and you have a particularly fine example,
Thank you MrFlyingGuy 🙌
I believe you are correct in what you say and as it’s the only one in Ireland it’s rarer than hens teeth 😁
Beautiful looking snd sounding car ! I owned a jag xj6 4.2 litre straight 6 many years ago ! But dude thats on another level 👌👌👌👌
Thank you very much Joobie for your kind words of praise! I’m very happy with it and I’m just home from having it at the Le Mans 24 hour race and it never missed a beat 😁

Real shame has happened to JLR now, they are ruined but I still love my X351 ❤
I agree 100% Jules! Hopefully what they’re doing will help the values of our cars 🤗
The sun of a pure luxury car is the back seat plenty of real wood and leather and this Daimler has them in spades and that speedometer you can from mph to kph the cherry on top and your Daimler is in excellent condition also they are just a great looking car
Thank you for those kind words Les 🙌😎
Hi Paul - I have the pre-production prototype of the X350 model XJR. It has all the features your car has except the rear picnic tables. It has now covered 138,000 miles and still looks like new and runs like clockwork. What a shame Jaguar (Tata) felt the need to throw away all those years of Jaguar tradition and allow themselves to make 'jelly mold' cars just like everybody else!
I couldn't agree more with you Owen! And thanks for your own story about your XJR, it's very comforting to know it is still looking good after 138k ☺
Nice example. The cat is impressed, too.
Thanks and yes Pepper the cat likes the Big Cat … especially to lie on the bonnet to sun herself 🫣
Sweet car. I can't afford the upkeep.
That is the unfortunate downside alright 😢
I have a 2005 black super 8.
Absolutely love her! Not in as fine condition as yours.
They really do fly. And handle remarkably well. They need very good quality tyres!! Cheers
Thank you Damian for those lovely comments 👍 Is that a Jaguar you have when it’s called a Super 8? I’m still learning so forgive my ignorance 🫣
Luckily the last and only previous owner put brand new Dunlops on her before selling her to me plus he did a total refurb of the wheels too 🤗
No buddy she's a Daimler. Like yours. Early one. Mine is just in lesser condition! But I paid very little for her. I would dearly love to get the final edition one. 2008. Got even more toys including cooled seats....Cheers
What did you pay Paul and what are your plans for her? ( Will you drive her or just store her?)
@@damianfuller74 Ahh that's good, the Daimler is so much rarer that the values should stick for longer than the Jaguar version. Yes the 358 would be nice although here in Ireland cooled seats would not get much use 🌧😄
@@philtucker1224 Hi Phil, I'll drive her as much as I can! In fact, I just arrived back home in it last from Le Mans where I was for the 24-hour race and I put 1,650 km on it and it didn't miss a beat 😄
The Daimler name was last used on the XJ40, X300 and X308 and the X350 was the last XJ to use the Daimler name and was only available in super V8 version, which is your car, Jaguar dropped all Daimler version from the X351 onwards.
Wonderful bit of information there. Thanks for that sir 🫡
And the X358 up to 2009 when last was produced
@@DickyDiver44 Thanks again for that Richard 🙂👍

I’m glad you like them! Where you buy one depends on where you live? Try www.theparking.eu as it covers most European websites selling cars 👍
I’ll be selling this one shortly after I get a few jobs done first 👍
I had 3 jags one Daimler xj40 😊 love Daimler 🎉
It’s my first time buying a Jag and it’s even nicer that it’s the Daimler version 🤗
I see yours even has the adaptive cruise control, very hard to find an XJ with that feature.
Thanks for that piece of information. I’ve owned dozens of cars and it’s the first one to have that feature and I have to say it’s brilliant 🤗
This was the last of the great jaguar Daimlers this one is absolutely beautiful stunning the V8 was far better than the old V12
Thanks Thomas for your high praise of my car 👍
I agree about the V8 and the V12 although the V12 back in the day was a monster of an engine too 😉
Lovely car. Shame it didn't have the wing vents from the Jaguar Super V8.
Thanks for that Lex. It's a Marmite thing those events, some people love them. I think they had them on the (last of the line) X358 models too!
Jaguar used the Daimler brand pretty much constantly from the time the two companies merged until 2009. There was no gap from 1960 until they stopped using the brand in 2009.
As a newbie to Jaguar I’ll bow to your knowledge Peter 🤗
@@paulgart my memory prompted me to Google it!
Haha, the Best... if you look into the Boot.... you have space for your golf clubs or ' your enemies '... brilliant and well done
Thanks and well said 😄👍
The Garnet colour is beautiful. Those Sepang wheels really bring it up to date but the spec’ and refinement generally, is off the scale. I have an XKR so am familiar with the J gate and power plant, but if I wanted a saloon I wouldn’t want to look further than this stunning model.
Beautifull❤🎉🎉
Very interesting and informative video - thank you :-)
You're very welcome John 🤗
Ooh, what an absolute beauty. I just bought the mini version (X-type Sovereign 3.0) but it's not a patch on this.
X type . Nice car ..don't let the pundits knock it. It's a ford Mondeo in drag. Ballshit. It's a ford influence car. Beauty of it is a lot of the running gear is is Mondeo..cheap parts . If you have a job in.motor factor ask for for Mondeo same year .. doesn't show on factors computer but rear wheel bearing is same. Says on box but not on computer in shop .
Thanks very much but the X Type in a Sovereign with a 3 litre engine is a lovely car too 😍
@@colinstickland3130 Thanks Colin - I've made a note of that.
@@colinstickland3130 Well pointed out Colin 👍😙
Beautiful beautiful car. Only issue I saw was the sagging headlining above the rear seat held up with pins. Get that fixed and it's A1. Usual Jaguar fault so not surprised to see it.
Thanks Colin 👍
Yes the headlining is on the list of things to be done but first I have it booked into a specialist in England to fit a smaller pulley and to do a tune to bring it to 475 bhp 🤗
One of the last great beauties.❤

What's the price
I’ll have a selling price for it shortly Gareth! I just need a couple of jobs done first 👍
Shame the headliner sagged - have to get that sorted - then the interior will match that immaculate exterior and leather interior 👏
It’s definitively on the to do list, I think they sagged on most XJ’s so you often see it. Thanks for the advice 👍

A lovely car. I had two different X300's between 1995 and 2015. I have always liked the x350 aswell, and the super V8 is the top prize. If it isn't personal, I would be curious to know what you paid. I think that car would be hard to beat regardless of how much money you spend.

Wow ive had my 1999 BMW E38 7 years its has same interior as this but this is somehowe nicer ,
Funnily enough I had a 1997 735! Back around 2002 and loved it to bits! It was in a Champagne colour scheme and I think that’s what made it fresh looking for years. Enjoy your lovely car Guy 🙌
TIP ! If ever the navigation has problems , don't ask Jaguar to fix it . I had it repaired in Germany at 320 euro , whereas Jaguar would have charged me 3500 euro.
Used to have an S-type 2.7d sport , the navigation is likely to have problems because of the different temperatures in the trunk where it is situated.
Hardly ever see these for sale, but they’re not expensive when one does crop up.
