Hello guys , wow a big driveway this time, i enjoyed to see how you get it Sealcoating, you did a great job , thanks for showing guys, see you next time 😀👍💪👌
Beautiful job as always! When doing the fine cut-in along sidewalks, cobblestone or pavers, which direction do you prefer working from, left to right, right to left, or doesn’t it matter?✌🏻
How much of the seal coating liquid do you use in a week? Is it expensive? Do you mix it yourself? How much can your container on your truck hold? How long does a filled container on the truck last? 2 days? 3? Thanks 👍🏾❤💯
In 5 days well go through about 1,000 gallons. Expensive is a relative term. We do mix it ourselves by adding sand and water. The truck holds 550 gallons. But we never fill to the brim. We can get 2 days of work out of a full truck.
Hi Greg. I am curious how often you replace your brushes with a new one? I know you keep them in a water tank but how long does one last on average? Also, have you used a squeegee before and what have you found the advantage of the brushes are over a squeegee? Thanks.
I guys I’m just toning to get started in this type of work and glad that you asked that question. So the brush box is just a box with water in it correct?
Do you add water to your sealer or additives and or agitate it a lot ? Your sealer consistency look way easier to work with vs how mines comes out the end. Yours flows right out no problem.
Great job, as always, Gregory. I have two questions: 1) What do you guys do when you have to use the bathroom, and you're on a big job; and 2) How do you come up with some of these funny video names? Oops - one more. Is it possible for the clips you use as Stories on Instagram be saved as shorts here on RUclips? I'd love to be able to watch them again after they've left Stories. Thanks for another awesome video.
I use solo cups for the bathroom. Ive gotten pretty good at being inconspicuous during the process. For the pother one I will only do at home, (either before of after work). Frying Dragon is from the movie "Sidekicks" that I was watching while I was editing this. I have all this clips saved on my phone. I'll try and do something with them over the winter. I just had to transfer 4,000 sealing clips to a separate external hard drive. I have so many. 😂
God bless you guys that have to work out in this heat! If the heat up there is anything close to what it’s like here in Texas, I don’t know how you survive. Which brings me to my question, is it ever too hot to use the product? Can you put seal on really hot asphalt? Can the heat actually cause it to dry too quickly?
Great question. Yes, for me it gets too hot after 1pm. We will never work past 1pm. And on extremely hot days, we’re not working past 12pm. In extreme heat, the sealer dries before it can be properly worked into the asphalt and before we can remove the footprint and lines. That’s how it goes for me, anyway. ☀️
I've watched your videos off and on for the last few years. Great content! Its been neat seeing how you've grown! I'm located in IN and just started my sealcoating business. I like to do quality work and would like to know where you buy your supplies...Wire brushes? If you have a video that references this, would you please link it for me under this comment. What is your sand/sealer ratio? What are your thoughts about additives? I use the pave gel from sealmaster. I love the idea of additives in my sealer for a nice quality look and wear! Interested in what additives you might use if any. Looking forward to your reply.🎉
1. Buy buckets at a big box hardware store. 2. Order 55 gallon drums. 3. Make the drive to the next place that seeks it in bulk. 4. Buy a BIG tank and have the sealer delivered to you.
@SEALCOATINGISLIFE do you charge more considering the added heat from the asphalt because in west Texas it is Hell. Probably why I don't see Anyone doing this.
Also, what was the square footage on this driveway and what did you charge the customer? Or…how would you price a 2,500 sqft driveway, no cracks, sealed 3 years ago, can you give a price range per sqft depending on how porous?
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE25 cents bro? Fr? Thats hella cheap tbh not knocking you but you do great work you can charge alot more than that. Here in CA everyone is in the 50-80 cent range sometimes even a dollar depending on the job. I just a sealed a 14,000 sqft parking lot for $13,500. Of course not everyone does some guys go way cheap to steal work from out under other guys. Which sometimes ruins neighborhoods where we had good profiting prices. Your price is your price i know homeowners are penny pinchers sometimes and you gotta do what you gotta do. But your work is clearly worth more than 25 cents a sqft.
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE thats crazy man come to ca for like a week and il show you a couple areas you can bang out 5-6k a day in the bay area people love sealing here theres a few clients i coat twice a year cuz they like the fresh look. And people pay for it here. The guys that always knock on their door and say they can do it “cheaper” get rejected alot here because people understand you get what you pay for. I never worked in other states but you can get paving checks for sealing here. Lmk if you want my contact info we can get together with both of our tanks and do multiple jobs at once and split em. A couple friends and I make more money together than we do lone wolf. Lmk bro your work is great! You’ll love the steelguard oil base sealer we got here too it dries beautiful and blacker longer.
Excellent job! One stupid question: for what purpose is this seal coating? Does it solve any practical problems or is it just for looking good? I mean it looks amazing!!
No sir....Go get a 55 gallon contractors garbage bags and wrap your brushes with it. Of course it's easier to wrap a 3' brush but the bag is big enough to fit the 4'.
Brush boxes are messy...U fill them with water.. u tap brush on what bottom of flat bed...side of tank.. U get build up...they take up room... your sticks are straight up in the air... A wrapped is easily stored and will stay totally soft... I've been doing this since 1987

How thick is the typical layer of sealant

Very thin

You can only do so much with buckets. A long hose can cut your work time in half.

Beautiful job as always! When doing the fine cut-in along sidewalks, cobblestone or pavers, which direction do you prefer working from, left to right, right to left, or doesn’t it matter?✌🏻
I would say that I prefer the edge to be on the left side. But it sometimes depends on the slope of the asphalt.

No worries! Thanks, Jule.
Really ? Do you use water based or Gilsonite? Lmk the product looking to get in the game hopefully
We’re using water-based asphalt emulsion
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE what brand if I may ask ?
@makycaris4672 Neyra
so what happens to all the grass at the edges that got covered in the sealcoating?

It’s faster and cleaner to brush.

How come you prefer the synthetic brush over the tampico brushes?
I think they last longer on the asphalt
how long is the curing time after sealcoating that whole driveway?
48 hours

Western Philly suburbs
How much does it cost per square foot
Around .25

you should consider mounting your brush stick the other possible way to the brush head.
What do you have in the box where you store the brushes to keep them from sticking together?
It’s just water.

When is it to hot to seal coat?
After 1pm here
how much does it cost to put that...lets say i got some 12 ft width by 45 ft long...can you give me an estimate
$250 is the minimum
Question for you guys...Do u know how to store a seal brush without a brush box aka (trough)?
You would have to clean it completely before storing it. It wouldn’t be worth it. If any sealer dries it the brush, you wouldn’t be able to use it.
How do I clean my brush after im done doing my driveway?
if its water based, use water
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE ok thanks.
We keep our in a brush box that’s filled with water
What’s that sealer smell like?
It smells like asphalt
Are you in the Harrisburg area like around there.
Were in southeastern PA
Can you apply this stuff to concrete driveways? Just curious...
This product is for asphalt only.
What should i do if my town doesn’t have a bulk fill supplier for my sealer?
1. Buy buckets at a big box hardware store.
2. Order 55 gallon drums.
3. Make the drive to the next place that seeks it in bulk.
4. Buy a BIG tank and have the sealer delivered to you.
how hot was it?
