    I'm a type 1 diabetic and I eat rice, pasta and bread with little to no effect. I do this by converting the the carbohydrate to a complex carb. For rice and pasta I cook whole grain rice and pasta Normally then I chillth3m in the fridge for 24hrs. Then I reheat it which changes the simple carb to a complex carb. For the bread, I eat whole grain breads. I freeze the bread. Then when ready to use it I toast the bread. By converting the carb to a complex carb, it mostly goes to feeding your gut bacteria and a small amount about 50% reduction goes into the bloodstream. This method has been known at least since the 70's. I tested it and it worked. In fact my blood glucose level went down. It worked for me. Wouldn't hurt to give it a try. Do your research. Knowledge is power.

    I was born in Texas, raised in Kansas and potatoes were a huge part of meals. It took me a long time to get over the craving for potatoes but I did. I am almost afraid to eat them again because I love them and stopping would be hard. However I do like lentils and I have red lentils on hand. I might try this. If it doesn't work I could be sending you the potatoes🥔 😛 Prayers for the people in Turkey. 🙏 I hope you didn't have friends or family members in the area.

      It's not disgusting at all! Some of us like to eat the same thing every day or every few days. Carnivore takes away the need to decide and waste time shopping then preparing food. I pretty much ate a cheese sandwich every day for dinner for 50 years because I hate cooking. When I discovered carnivore, meal prep was practically the same as making a cheese sandwich, I felt healthier and more energised, my blood sugar levels returned to normal and I was able to ditch the Metformin and BP pills. Some of us feel the same way about lentils and pulses as you do about carnivore 🤮🤮🤮

      Yes. All starches work the same way. Once the fatty acid chain is changed by freezing or getting the starchy food cold for at least 12 hours in the fridge, it then becomes what's known as "resistant starch!" It's the same with pasta, potatoes, rice, ect. 😉

    (sorry in advance for my english it isn't my language). I would like to have your opinion about basmati rice, is it ok to eat it in moderation, what's the glycemic index ? Also want to say thank you for everything, I hope you realise how many people you're helping here. My doctor doesn't help me at all about my diabete, she doesn't ask me any question on my habits or anything she just want to give me more and more medication, I have 250mg metformin, 120mg gliclazide, 10mg jardiance, 1mg ozempic and she still want to rise it.. I stick around 6-7 mmol in the morning and 7-8 after meals, which is a little miracle for me because I was always at 10-12 even 15 even in the morning, before I found your channel. She told me if it doesn't drop even more I would need insulin injection 4x per day. Seriously? I did a lot of changes in my alimentation and I feel better. Just figured out that I ate too much fructose, pasta, bread, now I have them occasionally, and I eat protein good fats and veggies only, with nutritional yeast and AVC mixed with water before bed. But I don't have any support around me and it's so hard when even my doctor can't be happy with my efforts.. your patients are very lucky, and thank you for sharing us all those tips and knowledge, very appreciated

    It’s totally up to diabetic person to choose between eating some food or not eating them and their lives and health span. My father chose the first one and died in horrible shape. I chose to eliminate many carb and live to see my grandchildren and be able to lift them up. Freedom not always guaranteed happiness or even health.

      Yes, brown has a kind of nutty flavour and takes a bit longer to cook.

    I'm long past 27, and have been diabetic for well over 20 yrs. Will that make a difference how the potatoes affect me?

  • @ArmandE
    @ArmandE Год назад +4

    I don't know about that. I have type 2 diabetes and cut off all starches (potato, rice, bread). I'm much better without them and it was not that difficult: I still cook them for my kids, and never have cravings (although I'm from a heavy rice and bread culture). I eat legumes like lentils and beans, and that's quite yummy.

    Can you eat the lentils alongside the potatoes or rice without mixing them in???

  • @encoreunefois1X

    You can take this method to the next level by substituting all potatoes and rice with cucumbers.
