Hahaha no chance. I've been messing about with those telephone sniffers recently. This video is way better than what I had in mind but. Goddamnit. Real good.
Just wanted to say I've really enjoyed your videos and projects. Because of you and some other youtubers, I've ordered a bunch of ISD1820s and started making some samplers and other fun projects. Keep up the great videos !
I have to mention it again. I love your curiosity and interest in the unusual. It's sooo inspiring! I would like to start again immediately and do something! I have a Contact micro, a small piezo with a clip to attach it to somewhere. Just a lot of fun with the valhalla super massive !! With this EMF detector sniffer thingi you will definitely have a lot of fun! As always, best regards from Kassel! And keep your curiosity!
I was able to make a version of this using an old tapehead wired into a TS cable. It will pick up electromagnetic fields, but the gain is low on it, so I need to find a way to boost that. I ended up using it for drones, but I know it can do much more than that.
I just started experimenting with "found sounds" - sampling sounds from everyday things. I made a drum kit and (idk) kalimba? piano? from a soda can and made a song with it. I've been sampling sounds from my kitchen, from outside... from people. This is an interesting extension: Invisible everyday sounds....
That is so cool, its like the microcosm unfolds into sound. In fact after your video, i did some searching and found some cool stuff, resulting in the idea to make a portable 30 x 30 x 30 cm anechoic chamber. How cool would that be, isolate some nature in it and record its sounds, then use it for whatever.
@@Lonershy yeah man, would also love to see your atmospheric experiments done with this idea. Building one of these should be simple and low cost to make. Basically a thick box with sound scattering acoustic foam. There is a cool video on youtube about "how a sliding snail sounds" and they show this concept in a big anechoic chamber. So small scale is easy. 👍 Would love to see you build one.
I've built handheld/eurorack version of those with coils and op amps according to old project by Jonáš Gruška/LOM label. I need to record some samples though. Your videos are non stopping ispirations.
I used to have one of those, back in the analog phone days. This brings back so many memories. I suppose they quit manufacturing them long ago. Do you know Lonershy? I have noticed that there is no longer a market for the clip on piezo pickups used when digital tuners were much larger than they are now (before the clip on phase). I just bought 10 of them for 20 bucks on E-bay. They are great and can be used to amplify all kinds of things because they just pick up physical vibration (instead of the sniffer's electro magnetic vibrations).
I'd love to play around with that thing, make the samples bank grow and share them. Does anybody know how to make a sample sharing community? Discord, maybe?
@@daneguitarist1 Probably New York style with just about any toppings but I'd be willing to do Chicago style or even white bread with cheese if this meetup could happen 😂
I really like the simplicity of it. I would use it with my crushy with my phone answering machine converted in a lofi sampler a bit like the one you showed how to make. Quite fun. A video about how to make this (if this is possible) would be nice!
This is super cool!!! Would love to win, but if I don't, do you know where to find these in 2021? Would love to mess around with one, your mod looks great too!
this comment is not to enter the give away lottery, someone might need it more ;) I just like to know if there are some schematics out there for this device to built one on my own. it's basicaly an antenna with amplification right?

Fascinating adaptation of the device. It would be an honor to be its caretaker.
YEAH. I see myself sniffing on traffic lights :D
Hi... lol. Creativity level 1000! Your videos are always so inspiring! 👌

yeah, I guess a small amplifier... like the ones in those computer speakers... really handy and easy to scavenge
That's really cool! Any tips on making one of these? I think I have an inductor somewhere...
yeah it is basically an inductor
does it only pick electromagnetic noise, or does it pick sound too? in the video it seems like it does get both
Would love to use this to explore all the hidden sounds around me :)
The Trimmer sounds like the 1986 Transformer transformation sound!!
Qué divertido se ve! Con uno de esos vuelve la época dorada del dubstep jaja. Buen video hermano!
This is a really cool little piece of gear! Would definitely be a great addition to the collection!
