I wish you lived where I live, so I could find tapes. That would make my day. I always hope to find something cool, sitting out on trash day, or by a dumpster. I'm always hoping that someone cleans out their garage or attic, and leaves an old reel to reel, cassette recorder, synth, etc.. sitting on the curb. I've gotten rid of things in the past, that I still regret years later. I used to only use software, so I've gotten rid of tape recorders, mixers, keyboards, camcorders, and an old Commodore 64... Due to moving, and being tired of carrying these things from place to place. After I started getting into hardware, and tapes again, it makes my stomach hurt to think about.

How is the eletronics part of it assembled? Just some old tape head connected to output wires?

I can understand how you generate the sound but i wanted to know if you also take advantage of the force generated by the hand as would do a dynamo to amplify it through the jack ? Also, i don't understand how i can work as a standalone recorder ? On which medium by the way, the band tape itself ? Thanks !
