This show is completely unlike anything I've ever seen. The Departure creates this atmosphere where reality is almost represented as it actually is. Always disjointed, never in your control. Absolute guilt, redemption, love and loss. You can find so many possible metaphors and allegories in every moment. The recurring musical theme seems almost designed to evoke a mental state where you feel emotionally drained, or eternally optimistic. And yeah, that burger looks pretty good right about now.
Justin’s acting is by far, the best I’ve ever seen. Nobody has ever made me feel as much as him, sadness/happiness/guilt, he is so underrated it makes me sick.
Theroux is just incredible… they all are in the snow but this dude! Jesus he KILLS it! Unreal. Love this show but this scene, the unravelling. Matt getting Kyevin (you get it) to truly open up. Wow.
This scene hits me right into the feelings every time i watch it. I can feel Kevin's pain telling Matt what happened after the 14th. Hands down to Justin Theroux
I’ve never cared for Justin Theroux’s acting….in fact gone out of the way to not watch things that he’s in. When I first saw the trailer for The Leftovers I almost ignored it because of him. I’m so incredibly glad that I gave the show a shot anyways. Justin taps into something I’ve never seen before. His performance throughout the series is just masterful. He was born to play Kevin Garvey.
This scene infuriates me so much because of the way Matt eats. It's as if his behaviour is all about what he needs, glutenous... starving for attention... It's such a weird and beautiful scene. But seriously, Matts behaviour in this scene makes me angry and frustrated.
Justin is an amazing actor throughout this series. He can summon so much emotion at the drop of a hat.
This is the guy who played the evil DJ in zoolander. Amazing actor

Great comment, you hit the nail on the head. I've been thinking about starting a Leftovers discord server, would you be interested in joining?
@@wearestillhereI won't mind to join it if there's a server like that.

And to think this is the same man who was the evil dj in zoolander

Off topic, that hamburger looks amazing.

He also plays comedic roles great. You should watch Maniac if you haven't.
This hits hard cuz I’m Kevin 😒
