You and your team are putting together a very entertaining definitive guide to Scottish mountain biking. I'm loving every minute of it and look forward to the next one's.
Thank you Joe! It’s really come together nicely and I’m super stoked, it’s been an effort alright but the viewer feedback has been great. One more to go!
Dude, been off the saddle for 15years, since watching your videos youve inspired me to get back on and head for the hills. Starting small at Carron valley tomorrow. Loving the vids and more so the music selects! Nice one man
Rocky, technical and sketchy trails !!! But f.... clouds Super cool dh tracks , awesome And spray time before riding, lol 🤣🤣🤣 Great vidéo man , keep it un 👍👍👍
Fantastic video! Thank you for that! You showed us so many types of riding with different bikes and the whole landscape was just amazing. Also your riding skills are unbelievably good! I am from Salzburg/Austria and used to big mountains but i didnt know that there are beautiful mountains in the UK as well. (:
Hey Scotty you gave me goose bumps when you were reminiscing about your racing days really cool clip i,m a fair bit older same age as tomac and only just rode one of my old dh tracks from way back when and its still the same only the jumps seam smaller but there not look forward to the next one cheers mate from down under .
A friend recommended your videos and wow they are great I've ridden quite a few of the trails you have mentioned as I'm from aberdeenshire but you've given me so many ideas too! and i was there in 2009 and 2010 at the fort william world champs who would of known 10 years later id be watching your vids haha i could tell you were good from the videos but didn't realise you were pro! epic! sorry for the long comment 🙃😂
Ahh cheers Craig, that’s so rad to hear! Since making these I’ve even learnt about so many more trails... Got me thinking for a season 2! Being back at the top of Nevis brings back plenty of amazing memories, here’s hoping the Fort can run next year.
@@ScottyLaughland definitely season 2, maybe do a behind the scenes of how you film an episode? Would also love to see a van check! Yeah I hope so too!
Love your content Scotty. You bring a fresh breeze of mtbing that is second none. You were good on your stint with GMBN but I reckon you’re even better doing it on your own with your own team. Keep up the great work 😎🇦🇺🤙
Another masterpiece of MTBing!......How many more episodes have you got? as i'll have to give up work soon to go everywhere haha......On a slightly different note and renewable energy i noticed a few places have put free electric chargers at the MTB centres (Wolftrax and Glencoe i've noticed so far if like me you don't have land to plant trees but have an electric car haha)
Love these videos. Highly polished, well shot and cut. Scotland is one of my MUST GO places. I'm starting to plan a two-week trip (Aug 2022) but it's not a proper bike trip (unfortunately) so my question is... What would be the 5 best places to ride for a 60 yr old with lots of years on the bike but doesn't do the big jumps and gaps. (Waiting for witty comments on that one) I prefer flow and technical trails but want to experience some of the beautiful wide-open vistas that Scotland has to offer. Oh yeah. I'd probably have to rent wherever I go. Any HELPFUL suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers
I’d suggest getting in touch with eGuide Scotland based in Aboyne. They can help with a hire bike and guiding services. As for my Top 5 it would be, Torridon, The Cairngorms, Ballater, Dunkeld and the Tweed Valley!!
@@ScottyLaughland thank you for getting back to me. I will definitely contact them and check out your top 5. Super helpful. Cheers and may you always keep the rubber side down.
Epic!! Once again epic footage and really nice storytelling! I have a question tho, which bikes are you riding in the series? The Spark and Gambler are distinctive but what about the Ransom/Genius? Cheers!
Thank you! Spark, Ransom and Gambler in this series, I felt the new 22 Spark and Genius blurred a little and wanted to showcase the capabilities of the Spark and so far it’s amazed me... Stoked to hear you’re enjoying the series. One more to go next Thursday!
Good to hear you're motivated to put sustainability front and centre in the vid. Scotland is many things - beautiful, dramatic, even progressive in these days of populist bollocks - but it needs to properly engage with rewilding the Highlands, regenerate its impoverished ecology and get native woodland banking some of the carbon we all are responsible for. Gaun yersel' lad!
The only problem is that just planting trees doesn't actually offset the carbon for years. carbon net zero is scientifically a load of spin to allow companies to continue to pollute the planet. Even if they were to go to carbon negative it still doesn't sort the problem of pumping out tons and tons of CO2 and CH4 into the atmosphere. The bottom line is money, companies don't want to spend it. Scotland currently produces 98% of its electricity by renewable sources but we are still using gas in our homes. Electric cars are still far too expensive and the infrastructure of charging points is piss poor. I'd switch in a heart beat. At the moment PIHV give a short range that most people can actually use (my round trip to school is 14miles a day).
Hi Scotty, great vids and fantastic content👍🏼 I'm in the market for a new backpack. I can't find the one you use & mentioned would you mind letting me know the model name/ number. Cheers Gary
Thanks Gary! Stoked you’ve enjoyed the content and series. I’m running the Thule Rail 12L here. They also do a slightly smaller 8L and a larger 18L. Highly recommend them, they’re light weight and comfy - the ‘pro’ version also has a back plate built in!!
Great series, but I have to say I feel Blue Doon is an insult to the mountain, the upper part, a very intrusive to the nature trail, that doesn't add much of either fun or flow.
Understand your point of view, I think the trail has a place in their network and with time hopefully nature will do it’s thing and take back over some of the damage that has been done to the hillside.
Are you just allowed to ride down moors and hills in Scotland?! Cycling of any sort is not allowed in England on most of the moors outside of bridleways.

What schwalbe tyres are you running on the ransom and the gambler ?
Got a Magic Mary and a Big Betty. Both are Super Downhill Casing and Ultra Soft compound!
I have added the songs of this episode to the Spotify Playlist „Scotty’s Scotland Showcase“
Thanks again David! I’ll need to share the link...
