Wishing I was a fly on your wall so I could watch every time you smock and sew. I have learned so much from you. Thank you for all you share. You have beautiful family too.
Hi Sarah! I use DMC 5 for crochet baby Booties, DMC 8 for making Bobbin Lace and for make soles , DMC 12 for Bobbin Lace, smocking, DMC 16 for Bobbin Laces and Brazilian Embroidery. DMC is my favorite threads.
Thank you so much! I agree with the one who said they’d like to be a fly on your wall. It’s been my dream so long to get done what you get done. I just watch videos and watch more and you guessed it...watch more. Wow! Where does on start with so much information.? Than you again fe you’re videos. I’m thankful I found you. You amaze me with all you have going, still have time for sewing/smocking videoing and everything else you do. ( I never did remember the links I was asking about and now I can’t find the video we last chatted in🤦🏻♀️😂😂). Would love step by step tutorial. I’m talking hold my hand tutorials 🤪
The perle cotton I can get up here in Canada is Balls for 8 and 12 and skein for 5. Thanks so much for these videos Sarah! It's really helped me to know the full difference between these fibres.
thanks so much! i've summarized it along with some other fibers/info into this download, sarahclassicsewing.com/collections/pdf-instant-downloads/products/pdf-fiber-information
@@sarahclassicsewing I live in New Zealand, and when I look for them, lots of places seem to sell perle cotton reasonably cheaply, but no-one seems to sell the floche, unless they are sourcing it overseas- someone had it for sale for $45NZD a hank!
Yeah I sell it in braids to help get more colors for less cost. There's two issues with getting floche, it's limited quanities from France, and then it's a huge 10 gram hank. So that'll last most folks for years, so much much to use, making it more costly to buy a hank.
@@sarahclassicsewing It's a great idea. I put some in my cart on your online store and it was $29 shipping. Which is not your fault at all, but I will have to stick to what I can get locally unfortunately. :)
@@Leannchops over $200 usd qualifies for free international shipping, just fyi. No worries either way, just letting you know. Pearl cotton is a great option to smock with too.

one day I want to do live videos in my sewing room, but that'll be once I have more sanity in my life 😂 thanks!

the one thing I don't like about the ball, it's a misery to find the end to get it off the ball
Love that Cafe du Monde can! You like to visit New Orleans?
Thank you so much for such informative videos 🙌🙌
dmc size 8 does come in a ball
Can pearl cotton be used in picture smocking?
Hello Sarah, would you choose perle cotton over floche for smocking? I've only ever used embroidery floss before.
Good question, kinda depends on my mood and the fabric lol. They're both wonderful choices
