    I love hearing your children in the background. It takes me back to when I was trying to sew for my son (he's 37 now) and daughter (she's 33). Trying to concentrate while dinosaur noises were occurring at my feet was a combination of my trying not to laugh and trying not to be irritated all at the same time.

    This is one of the funniest RUclips videos I think I have ever watched. Combine (unintended) humor with learning and I think the instruction will stick with you until you can put into practice what you just heard/watched. Thank you so much!

    Love your son talking while you make it a point or find the time to share on your channel. You've just made me understand that the circumstances that life brings shouldn't put a damper but work through it. Thank you for being real. I've subscribed.

    What you can do for a reference is wrap one small thread around the corresponding slot. It's easy to remove and it doesn't interfere with anything else.

    Great video! I have a used Read pleater and while it works, I really struggle with the fabric going all cattywampus and sooner or later the rest of the garment panels start to get munched. I've never used another pleater and so I don't know if the tension in the rollers is correct or if there is something else wrong with it.

    I love your Videos. It gave me a lot of inspiration. Please help me because I like extra rows of pleats for the bishop, but I have a problem pleating so many rows. It is the sleeve that comes on the way and it puckers. Please can you do a video on extra rows of pleating on a bishop.

      hi there, thanks. you can take your smocking up around the sleeve area, and then back down around the front and back areas. ruclips.net/video/6VAFX_Nmoyk/видео.html

    Hi Sarah. Thank you for your wonderful videos😊 ..May I please ask, how long or how many inch’s are the thread that you pull up thru pleater needles, the ones that hang loose. Also the the threads below the pleater needles I am assuming are left attached to their spools and the thread gets pulled from them as needed as fabric is pulled thru pleater? Thanks 😊( sorry if my question is confusing)

    Does it matter which way you roll your fabric onto the dowel and which way you feed it into the pleater?

    • @sarahclassicsewing
      @sarahclassicsewing  3 года назад

      It depends on the pleater... some brands pleat fairly evenly, so it doesnt matter for those while others dont pleat so evenly, in which case, yupp.. you are definitely right. In those cases, you want to feed your fabric through so the longer stitches are on the wrong side of the fabric.

    I just bought a brand new read pleater from tesco. I got it all set up and got a dowel and rolled my fabric onto it. I cut my dowel to 16inches. When I pleated the fabric, it bubbles in some places. What causes that? Is it because I cut my dowel and all the fabric isn’t rolled onto it, only half? Or is it some other user error and how can I get even pleats without bubbles or uneven fabric coming out of the pleater?

    • @sarahclassicsewing
      @sarahclassicsewing  3 года назад

      Are you pulling on the fabric as it feeds through? You should just be guiding it, but not applying much force.

    • @shannonanigans7164
      @shannonanigans7164 3 года назад

      @@sarahclassicsewing no I actually wasn’t touching the fabric and that’s why I was confused… I have tried three times to re-pleat after ironing it out. I managed to pleat enough before it bubbled on me again. Am I feed the fabric the wrong direction? Like the grain going the wrong way so it is stretching on me? Idk. When I bought this I imagined it going so smoothly but I’m some how messing this up 🤦🏻‍♀️😝

      @@shannonanigans7164 what fabric are you using?

    • @shannonanigans7164
      @shannonanigans7164 3 года назад

      @@sarahclassicsewing I believe it is a broadcloth? Just a generic print from hobby lobby if you know what I mean. I did order some imperial batiste and can’t wait to use that but I wanted to try this because I did hand pleat one dress for my baby and wanted to do one for her twin but did not want to hand pleat again so I was trying to finish one project before starting another if you know what I mean.

    Can you indicate me your video for pleating with seams? I use my Pleater for the first time today an I spoiled 6 needles. Horrible. A hot mess. The needles broke my fabric beause is wat a little twisted at the end of the process. A complete disaster. Maybe a too big peace of fabric. It was the whole bishop with angel seamed sleeves included. Have to trough it away😢.

    I agree with a previous comment. There are too many distractions in this video. Children are beautiful but there is way too much distracting background noise for an instructional video. This is particularly annoying for a hard of hearing person.
