  • Using a pleater machine has saved me hours of hand stitching. What can I say, the stitches on this machine outshine any hand stitching job! It's well worth it!

    Holy cow, that looks incredible. Also like it would have saved my sanity when I was doing the ruffles on a petticoat 😵‍💫

    I think this the simpler version of the pleater that is used to make the pleats in the shoulders of the traditional preaching, choir and judicial robes. I have always wanted to see how those pleats are done. Thank you for sharing!

    This video is so easy to understand! Thank you for sharing!!
    Is it just regular thread? Is there ever an instance where you would use elastic thread like in a shirring top?

    For those of us who don't have a pleater but want this exact look how far apart does each "stitch" end up being in that first tighter section? From the mat scale it looks like maybe its 1/4"?

    Where did you get needles for it? Does yours use the pre or powt 1985 needles?

    I have one just like yours but it is new to me. I’m wondering if it will pleat through seams? It looks like it must have for your beautiful dress, right?

    • @thetailorette
      @thetailorette  3 месяца назад

      Yes it should pleat through seams. However, if the material is heavyweight, I could see you might need to help it along a little. But yes, no issues over the seams in this video 🙂

    I purchased my pleated a couple years ago and it worked perfectly then I put it away. I pulled it out yesterday and it refuses to feed fabric. It will run paper perfectly. What am I doing wrong?

    • @thetailorette
      @thetailorette  5 месяцев назад

      Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that. I'm not quite sure what it could be, but it may be the material you are using. Sometimes the direction of the fabric can have something to do with it.
