Hi! Thanks for reaching out. The whole point is that it's not a negative thing. There is nothing at all wrong with naming your bus or vehicle any name at all. We have friends who have names for theirs and it's cool. The whole point in that is that we decided not to name ours because it's a bus and we didn't feel obligated to give it a name would make it a he or she or whatever. That's what we meant when we said we wanted to stay a way from gender, not to push any agenda. Because our bus is a bus and it doesn't have to pick sides, lol.

I would have to disagree. I love all the detail. I guess it may depend where a person is at in life as to what they want to see. The beauty of the longer length is the personal ability to be able to only look at the points that interest you (the miracle of technology) while still having the choice for others to watch the video in its entirety with all the wonderful detail. A shorter video eliminates one of those choices, so to please all his audience he has chosen the correct length.
A Grammy's life I actually like the longer videos, like this one, where I have longer to take in everything, thoroughly, see what they did & the upsides, & the downs, hear the stories , and see the details. If the time they take is longer than the time I have available, I "Save" it to the "Watch Later" option.

The thing I love MOST about videos like this is when they do show where every little thing goes. My main problem with almost all bus tour videos is that they never show in depth where every thing goes! I'm watching tons of bus videos because it's research for my future when I finally build a bus. So it's important for me to see EXACTLY where everyone puts there stuff in order to get information and inspiration for my future build!

"Throw them by the side of the road?" Now I know who the assholes are that do that. Im always picking up crap like seats, consoles and van/RV parts after those morons. Nice job on the build. Rv's major issue is often water damage vs your bus roof which is pretty bullet proof. You'd also survive a tree branch in a storm far better than an RV. Provide plenty of ventilation for your camp stove. I'd avoid starting fluid, if you have a generator let the block heater run for a few hours. If you must use starting fluid you can spray it on a rag and let it suck from the rag. This gives it a more blended stream of vapor/air which helps avoid a strong shot all at one time. I've also used wd40 in a pinch as it's less violent on pistons and rings vs SF. Solar is the only way to go especially when you have so much roof area and capacity to carry batteries. Enjoy your travels.

I know you're building out as you go to adapt to your needs. But when you showed your bathroom /closet area I felt for you sitting with that curtain on your legs just to pee and there is no space to change quickly. I loved the shower curtain idea you used and thought about it and wanted to pass an idea on. You could take 2 small curtain rods or chains cut to the exact size of your closet end to end and instead of the one curtain you could hang a curtain on each rod or chain and whenever you need to use the bathroom or change clothes/ get dressed in the mornings you could unhook opposite sides of each curtain rod or chain and move them parallel to create a little room that is easily accessible and can be put back to look like your current area. All you need is another curtain and either 2 small chains or 2 small curtain rods and 2 screw-in eye hooks 🪝 that would be installed in the ceiling opposite from your closet/bathroom area. This would also give you some extra privacy if you want to close the front of the home off from the rear bedroom as you said you do when running the heater. I hope my comment did not confuse you lol 😆 I also wanted to say that I love the build and color scheme of the interior as well as the exterior!
I really like this conversion. A rolling studio apartment, sans the rent! A clever combination of ideas that make up for any skill limits. The most important things are that you are comfortable, content & living the dream.
Male or female or gender X, this bus still needs a lot of work to make it a great full time living arrangement. It's a good start. Suggestion, check out "Amish" fridge. It runs on LP and/or 12 V. LP at night and 12 V when the sun is bright. They also have a LP/12 V/120 V model.
I actually met you guys at TinyFest at Del Mar Fairgrounds this year. Such a pretty home you have. I'm really close to purchasing a bus and tricking it out as a home/pet grooming salon on wheels! Hope to meet up with you again someday soon.
I bet a good sized DC chest fridge/freezer combo would work much better for your power consumption. I have seen a lot of great applications where they put them on big drawers with slides so they get tucked into the cabinetry when not in use. Dometic is one brand that comes to mind but check out channels like CheapRVLiving where they review a lot of the different models pros/cons. Maybe it would free up enough amp hours to use some wall panel heaters or something so propane heater isn't necessary. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it.

Propane tanks should NEVER be situated inside the RV! Propane is heavier than air, so if a leak occurs, the build-up can explode violently or just kill you from inhalation if not ignited. Your one tank should fit neatly under the floor on a bracket, accessible from underneath, with copper tubing going up through the floor. Very nice job, btw.
Hey- I saw you all in Kansa this week. You were going north on I-35 while I was going south. You passed by in a blur, caught my eye because of this video and as soon as I saw the back of the bus with the two windows, I knew it was you. So cool. I felt like I had seen a celebrity. Lol happy, safe travels.
To me, this ones just kinda poorly laid out. You don’t have a lot of things that one would need and don’t have a place to put them because you’ve got somewhat unnecessary stuff in its place. To each their own I guess.
Beautiful people and a really good job on the bus would love to know how the bus holds out in the winter . I am planning on doing something like this on my own and I am petrified of doing the electrics LOL .
Thank you for checking out the tour! We are more like Snowbirds and try to stay in warm climates. We have a Mr. Buddy heater, which helps a lot when we are in colder climates.
Anyone else notice that most times these "couples" seem to use a picture of the female as the thumbnail for the video? Even when (sometime) it's the male that actually narrates the video. Not saying anything is necessarily wrong with it really but, seems like a lot. Again, not pointing fingers just an observation. I've lived the van life and always thought of a partner to share the experience might b3n nice. It takes a very unique couple true but, extremely unique female to live this life. So of course when I see an apparent female looking like this type of person, I am drawn to check the video out. With titles like: "living on the road" and not always "couple living on the road" Which BTW I like to watch also to see how they deal with relationships in a confined space. I just have to smile. They sold a fully probably furnished home and they’re like a couple of teenagers. Whatever works from friends who donate. They certainly know how to put it to use and are very adaptable. Would love to see it in five years.

Things I REALLY LIKE about what you've done, so far (there's lots, so I'll only list six bunches: #1) Overall Color Scheme - LOVE IT! #2) Vinyl flooring - Perfect choice! #3) The things you've brought from your house, family, & friends are beautifully integrated into all the other things in the schoolie. #4) Solar Panels - BIG YAY! #5) Kitchen/Seating/Dining/Office Area - Beautiful, counter tops & fixtures very attractive, solid quality materials, love the furnishings - the seats especially, design & arrangement very pleasing & efficient. Really REALLY pleased you got some things from Habitat For Humanity! #6) Overall look of interior is bright & airy, neat, spacious, efficient. Love love love all the windows & light and everything you did with the window treatments. Like the stick-on lights for "as-needed" light. Good use of fabrics, textures, structural materials, and art (including your mom's delightful bird house) give a wonderful "home" vibe w/o feeling/looking cluttered. I loved the various colorful coverings on your bed. DON'T LIKE: #1) Pooping in the kitchen That's all.* *I know you guys are in transition, you're doing things every day, reality is what it is, and I totally understand AND honor that you needed to JUST GET OUT THERE! Fortunately, Richard is very good with creative carpentry and making the most of the space available. You guys are going to be fine! 😍🤴🎅🏻 (P.S: I love the little Window Frames on the back exterior! They add such a fun & homey whimsy to the bus's exterior - very friendly feel to them.)

Very nice conversion. As an old woman I would like to pass on a bit of advice, just delete it if you find it offensive. When you post a video here, no matter the topic, you will find that the haters are gonna hate. I have no doubt they have all sorts of reasons for making rude critical comments but it doesn't make it right. As you travel you will encounter all sorts of people and some of them will also be obnoxious, just like some folks on the cruise ship. May I suggest you simply ignore those people. Making a sarcastic comment, something that they will never understand anyway, will simply drain some of your positive energy, so you will give them some power over you . How about ignore the rude folks, the self righteous critical folks, etc and deny them the chance to have any effect on you at all. Those types of comments are irrelevant to your message so perhaps deny them the chance to become part of your conversation. Ignoring them is also good practice for dealing with these same types when they cross your path on the road. Just smile and move on and that will irritate the heck out of them while preserving your inner joy. Anyway, you both have done a good job and the color scheme is so bright and uplifting. Peace on.

Evan Jackson some opinions contain advice or just a differing viewpoint and of course those are part of the conversation and are interesting and of value. The kind of comments I refer to are simply insults or snarky comments and serve no purpose in the conversation other than cause discord. If there is an issue that is serious in nature expressed in the video such as racial insults or a demeaning manner then comments made that express our displeasure of that are in order, but that did not happen in this video about a bus conversion. I have watched videos about WWII and sadly there are comments left by Nazi sympathizers which is an extreme example of the comments I refer to. (Of late, RUclips has been finally responding to the problem by blocking comments for those videos to deny the Nazis of the platform. )

And finally someone answered my question. Thanks so much, I will never be able to pass a physical to get my CDL’s. So I can stop dreaming about converting a old school bus. You said perhaps remove the desk and put in a couch. You could cut the legs off the desk and hinge it to fold down to be the back of the couch. Just needs pillows or a long cushion for comfort. The legs could be reattached as hinged to fold out or you can rig it some other way to stay up when you need it to be a desk. Then you could have both a couch as well as counter space as needed. Does this make sense?

So, you are not done with the bus? I notice that some things are not finished. Also, if you're going to be in cold weather, I would recommend insulating the ceiling since the metal is just a few mill's thick. And lookup off-gassing of the batteries. It can be lethal. Most bus owners have the batteries in outside storage. Compartment. You can enclose the box so there are no gaps. Install a small computer fan on the back of the box so it is blowing to the outside via a vent like the ones used as soffit vents are good enough, but I personally would use a dryer vent and cover the pipe section with screening so rodents can't get int thru the vent. Just my two cents.

Hi! Thanks for reaching out. The whole point is that it's not a negative thing. There is nothing at all wrong with naming your bus or vehicle any name at all. We have friends who have names for theirs and it's cool. The whole point in that is that we decided not to name ours because it's a bus and we didn't feel obligated to give it a name would make it a he or she or whatever. That's what we meant when we said we wanted to stay a way from gender, not to push any agenda. Because our bus is a bus and it doesn't have to pick sides, lol.

I would have to disagree. I love all the detail. I guess it may depend where a person is at in life as to what they want to see. The beauty of the longer length is the personal ability to be able to only look at the points that interest you (the miracle of technology) while still having the choice for others to watch the video in its entirety with all the wonderful detail. A shorter video eliminates one of those choices, so to please all his audience he has chosen the correct length.

My main problem with almost all bus tour videos is that they never show in depth where every thing goes! I'm watching tons of bus videos because it's research for my future when I finally build a bus. So it's important for me to see EXACTLY where everyone puts there stuff in order to get information and inspiration for my future build!

Rv's major issue is often water damage vs your bus roof which is pretty bullet proof. You'd also survive a tree branch in a storm far better than an RV. Provide plenty of ventilation for your camp stove.
I'd avoid starting fluid, if you have a generator let the block heater run for a few hours. If you must use starting fluid you can spray it on a rag and let it suck from the rag. This gives it a more blended stream of vapor/air which helps avoid a strong shot all at one time.
I've also used wd40 in a pinch as it's less violent on pistons and rings vs SF.
Solar is the only way to go especially when you have so much roof area and capacity to carry batteries.

I know you're building out as you go to adapt to your needs. But when you showed your bathroom /closet area I felt for you sitting with that curtain on your legs just to pee and there is no space to change quickly. I loved the shower curtain idea you used and thought about it and wanted to pass an idea on. You could take 2 small curtain rods or chains cut to the exact size of your closet end to end and instead of the one curtain you could hang a curtain on each rod or chain and whenever you need to use the bathroom or change clothes/ get dressed in the mornings you could unhook opposite sides of each curtain rod or chain and move them parallel to create a little room that is easily accessible and can be put back to look like your current area. All you need is another curtain and either 2 small chains or 2 small curtain rods and 2 screw-in eye hooks 🪝 that would be installed in the ceiling opposite from your closet/bathroom area. This would also give you some extra privacy if you want to close the front of the home off from the rear bedroom as you said you do when running the heater. I hope my comment did not confuse you lol 😆

I really like this conversion. A rolling studio apartment, sans the rent! A clever combination of ideas that make up for any skill limits. The most important things are that you are comfortable, content & living the dream.

Male or female or gender X, this bus still needs a lot of work to make it a great full time living arrangement. It's a good start. Suggestion, check out "Amish" fridge. It runs on LP and/or 12 V. LP at night and 12 V when the sun is bright. They also have a LP/12 V/120 V model.

I bet a good sized DC chest fridge/freezer combo would work much better for your power consumption. I have seen a lot of great applications where they put them on big drawers with slides so they get tucked into the cabinetry when not in use. Dometic is one brand that comes to mind but check out channels like CheapRVLiving where they review a lot of the different models pros/cons. Maybe it would free up enough amp hours to use some wall panel heaters or something so propane heater isn't necessary. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it.

At first the gender neutral statement made me roll my eyes but by the end of this video I really liked this couple. I can see that Liz has a good sense of humor/personality, (so does her spouse i forgot his name while typing this lol) I liked how their bus wasn’t top to bottom perfectly organized like some of the other buses seem to showcase. Propane tanks should NEVER be situated inside the RV! Propane is heavier than air, so if a leak occurs, the build-up can explode violently or just kill you from inhalation if not ignited. Your one tank should fit neatly under the floor on a bracket, accessible from underneath, with copper tubing going up through the floor. Very nice job, btw.

Anyone else notice that most times these "couples" seem to use a picture of the female as the thumbnail for the video? Even when (sometime) it's the male that actually narrates the video. Not saying anything is necessarily wrong with it really but, seems like a lot. Again, not pointing fingers just an observation. I've lived the van life and always thought of a partner to share the experience might b3n nice. It takes a very unique couple true but, extremely unique female to live this life. So of course when I see an apparent female looking like this type of person, I am drawn to check the video out. With titles like: "living on the road" and not always "couple living on the road" Which BTW I like to watch also to see how they deal with relationships in a confined space. #1) Overall Color Scheme - LOVE IT! #2) Vinyl flooring - Perfect choice! #3) The things you've brought from your house, family, & friends are beautifully integrated into all the other things in the schoolie. #4) Solar Panels - BIG YAY! #5) Kitchen/Seating/Dining/Office Area - Beautiful, counter tops & fixtures very attractive, solid quality materials, love the furnishings - the seats especially, design & arrangement very pleasing & efficient. Really REALLY pleased you got some things from Habitat For Humanity! #6) Overall look of interior is bright & airy, neat, spacious, efficient. Love love love all the windows & light and everything you did with the window treatments. Like the stick-on lights for "as-needed" light. Good use of fabrics, textures, structural materials, and art (including your mom's delightful bird house) give a wonderful "home" vibe w/o feeling/looking cluttered. I loved the various colorful coverings on your bed.

Very nice conversion. As an old woman I would like to pass on a bit of advice, just delete it if you find it offensive. When you post a video here, no matter the topic, you will find that the haters are gonna hate. I have no doubt they have all sorts of reasons for making rude critical comments but it doesn't make it right. As you travel you will encounter all sorts of people and some of them will also be obnoxious, just like some folks on the cruise ship. May I suggest you simply ignore those people. Making a sarcastic comment, something that they will never understand anyway, will simply drain some of your positive energy, so you will give them some power over you . How about ignore the rude folks, the self righteous critical folks, etc and deny them the chance to have any effect on you at all. Those types of comments are irrelevant to your message so perhaps deny them the chance to become part of your conversation. Ignoring them is also good practice for dealing with these same types when they cross your path on the road. Just smile and move on and that will irritate the heck out of them while preserving your inner joy. Anyway, you both have done a good job and the color scheme is so bright and uplifting. Peace on.

Evan Jackson i agree with you. I feel that if you put your video for the public to view, then you should be open to other points of view without being called names or given a negative comments because a person doesn’t like something that was made or done in their home.
Evan Jackson some opinions contain advice or just a differing viewpoint and of course those are part of the conversation and are interesting and of value. The kind of comments I refer to are simply insults or snarky comments and serve no purpose in the conversation other than cause discord. If there is an issue that is serious in nature expressed in the video such as racial insults or a demeaning manner then comments made that express our displeasure of that are in order, but that did not happen in this video about a bus conversion. I have watched videos about WWII and sadly there are comments left by Nazi sympathizers which is an extreme example of the comments I refer to. (Of late, RUclips has been finally responding to the problem by blocking comments for those videos to deny the Nazis of the platform. )
Liberty Lost I also agree with those types of comments being posted as they add to the conversation, however the ones I refer to are simply nasty or personal insults and they serve no constructive purpose in the conversation other than using the comment platform to create discord and display lack of respect. As far as leaving a negative comment because you do not like something in their home, would you tour a person's home and then tell the owner "I don't like that " in person in reference to a color or bus name or whatever? You probably would not as that does not add to the discussion and is just plain rude. You may think it but you would not say it, the same rules apply when you put something in writing. Just because our names are not revealed does not mean that rules of civility do not apply. If you disagree with something there are ways of commenting that actually add to the conversation, such as offering another opinion about storage solutions or heating options, it just takes a bit of thinking about what bothers you about something to be able to share a concern in a manner that would be helpful, such as sharing a personal experience related to the item in question or asking a question related to a safety concern. Simply put yourself in the imaginary position of talking in person to the video presenter and you would figure out the difference between a helpful comment and one that is just rude. shalom.

And finally someone answered my question. Thanks so much, I will never be able to pass a physical to get my CDL’s. So I can stop dreaming about converting a old school bus. You said perhaps remove the desk and put in a couch. You could cut the legs off the desk and hinge it to fold down to be the back of the couch. Just needs pillows or a long cushion for comfort. The legs could be reattached as hinged to fold out or you can rig it some other way to stay up when you need it to be a desk. Then you could have both a couch as well as counter space as needed. Does this make sense?

In fact, he has a name plate as SAMSON. Mom had what she called an asexual car because she couldn't decide if it was a boy or a girl. After a year or so, she started calling it a he, so a boy it is. If you're triggered by someone deciding to gender or un-gender a vehicle because they LOVE the damn thing, you probably care about gender a lot more than you think libs do. 🤣

first i gotta say right off, i really like Poco! i love the really bright and festive colors. im really into the whole mexican culture thing here lately and the bright fiesta colors the mexicans use. 2. i also really like the white interior and all the windows, it looks really clean and neat and all the windows give an open airy look that i just love

Can I ask about your ceiling ? Did you insulate it and if not do you regret ? Trying to talk myself out of ripping my original ceiling out ..
So, you are not done with the bus? I notice that some things are not finished. Also, if you're going to be in cold weather, I would recommend insulating the ceiling since the metal is just a few mill's thick. And lookup off-gassing of the batteries. It can be lethal. Most bus owners have the batteries in outside storage. Compartment. You can enclose the box so there are no gaps. Install a small computer fan on the back of the box so it is blowing to the outside via a vent like the ones used as soffit vents are good enough, but I personally would use a dryer vent and cover the pipe section with screening so rodents can't get int thru the vent. Just my two cents.
