Selo xp rates with Mischief loot rules is the best server that they could release. If they want to throw something new in there put AoC's on dungeon's that you and your group can run once per day where nobody is inside. Would work for what a TLP is in my opinion.
Thanks for the video, every once in awhile I get the itch to play. Then I see something like this and realize, the Everquest I used to love, is dead to me.
I came back to Eq a couple months ago in anticipation of the new TLP server. But I think I'm good, I scratched the EQ itch and probably won't be playing when this unlocks.
So think about this. They would not implement something that does not benefit themselves. Why? It costs money to develop it so they need a return on that money. So whatever they’re reason is it was well thought out and not meant to necessarily benefit the players.
The encounter locking seems to be aimed at preventing Krono farmers from doing what they typically do (selling plvls, mobbing rare spawns to steal kills by out-dpsing). I also think the lack of powerleveling will put more people in the LFG pool. I will definitely play this server, it sounds like it will be more fun for your typical player rather than the hardcore, krono farmer type. Maybe those krono guys will stay on Mischief until the next TLP if this one isn't profitable for them (hopefully!). The bonuses seem small for the most part. I'd also be cool with free trade for all items or even the random loot tables, but this is good overall.
This isn't going to stop RMTers at all and to even think that is mind-blowing. They will just switch from powerleveling to locking up epic mobs, quest mobs, and named mobs. This FTE is going to be miserable for the casual player because now you can grief with any level character, and take over entire zones spawn with just a few players with sow/bard song. I could literally take a level 25 bard into Crushbone, tag every mob and run them around for hours just for fun. This is going to be the biggest griefing hell you've ever seen, EQ pathing is by far the worst in any MMO, and you think that DB just fixed the pathing issue overnight? I wish I had your blinders, so I could be excited about this, but I, unfortunately, live in reality.
The reality I described has happened on every server I've ever played on, so, an actual reality. Also, camping quest mobs, named mobs, and epic mobs already happened in addition to the enchanter power level groups killing huge swaths of mobs from whatever exping zones. The reality you just described is in your head and the only thing that you think will change will be that a bard will run around tagging mobs to grief people. There's 0 profit in running around with a bard in crushbone to grief. There is real monetary profit in selling powerlevels to P2P players. The incentives will be very different for each behavior, and I don't think we'll get what you think we will. Hopefully, the reality you are hypothesizing doesn't happen. I don't think it will. Also, hopefully, whatever locking mechanism is implemented much differently than you imagine. At least the developer is trying to fix some of the real problems with the game, and you also think they're problems because you mentioned them as well. I haven't played since AOCs became a thing, but I bet people hated that idea at first, too. I can't wait.
@@kyjam555 thinking about how people act on Yelinak and playing bard lately, I could totally see people throwing tantrums and loading up a bard locking mobs up.
I think if they change FTE to only named it would be the smartest play. FTE races are fun when it’s for named but eq isn’t designed for it to work on every mob. You need leashing etc like in other mmos with fte lock for everything.
Yikes, "experimental year" aka: "bad idea after bad idea". Have they had such a poor response before to a TLP? This makes previous bad TLP ideas look like sparks.
It feels like the server is missing one big exciting feature to tie it all together. They are giving a lot of small things that are nice to have but no one really asked for. If they made it free trade as well it may be more interesting
The only thing they're trying to solve with FTE is Powerleveling, mostly AOE power leveling. However, what they want is for us to pay to beta-test this idea. People are not realizing how much griefing you're going to be able to do this. Bards are going to be able to lock down entire zones, also, you'll only need a few people to take over an entire zone and keep mobs from respawning. RMT bot armies will only need 1-3 characters now to lock down an entire name camp with any type of character like a ranger with almost instant cast spells, or any type of instant-cast item. This is the most disgusting thing DB could have ever announced and that's why #jokewynd is starting to trend. There was 100s if not 1000s of ideas and none of them was this. You can't tell me for one second that a team of devs collectively agreed this was a good thing. This seems more like upper management or a clueless supervisor from the new company Enoch said: "we need to test this for live servers I don't care what the people want type of situation, and they will have to pay to test it".
Crap server. Should have had mischief loot rules. Also, true box... they never enforce that rule. Why even make the rule if they will never enforce it?
I wanted to get into EQ this year and play newer content. I thought that a tlp might be a good way to go because i can play through the game as it was released and get that experience. Two questions, are people on tlp servers helpful with info to total noobs? Also, should i skip this tlp if I want to have the everquest experience? you dont seem fond of this ruleset. I want to play a server that lasts as well i would like to play just one character not have to reroll on another because it becomes quickly inactive
IDK what TLPs you've been playing on, but the asshole camp stealing/KS behavior finally drove me away from them and onto private servers. The mob lock is going to be great for people still trying to legitimately play on the servers instead of having to play around all the KR farmers.
What you are greatly misunderstanding is that players like myself already know how to use this new mechanic to our favor to make your life even more miserable than it was before. For example, with wizard staff of temperance flux I can instantly tag any mob/named in your camp and steal it from you and you can do nothing to stop me.
At least boxers can't KS a mob through higher damage output. Everyone has a fair shot. I think this also gets rid of the powerleveling that a lot of krono farmers do, which I think is a good idea. It totally distorts the game economy.
@@hotsnakes9118 They'll "KS" it by tagging it first. @Maleix had it right. An instant or near instant clicky effect or spell is going to dominate the rare spawns. The casual player is going to lose out more often than not. I do agree that it will help with the power leveling issue but targeting scripts, instant clickies and agro pets are going to be sitting on every rare worth a damn.
I guess I'm the minority opinion on this TLP because I definitely want to play it lol. I always have played a single account in EQ with my alts on it (true boxing would be a headache to set up for me lol), and FTE sounds amazing for multiple factors: 1. Stop griefers. Yes, it does happen, we can put our tunnel vision blinders on and ignore it, but it 100% still occurs with the amount of degens playing EQ 2. With the assumed halt to power-levelling, I would assume that the result would be more LFG players --> more players in the pool to group with in the day. With the declining EQ player-base, this actually sounds relevant. You are right regarding proximity aggro, or even bard aggro causing FTE - it's a touchy subject that i pray to god DayBreak has figured out prior to this haha. Honestly, my only "con" to this server is the evolving ruleset. Like you said, this doesn't really motivate or incentivize anything for anybody, and EverQuest has gotten quick enough as it is (at least personally).. It doesn't seem to be a positive note for anybody to add these, though it's not "game-breaking" so I don't ultimately care too much. Hopefully Daybreak will review these as I think most people agree it's just not necessary and probably creates a convoluted TLP.
Trash, the allure of the server is that you dont need spend as much time leveling a new character? Who cares after hitting max level? Server bonus gone
i know right? maybe next TLP they start theyll let us start a new toon with a stack of fuzzlecutter formula 5000 and a coupon to give rin distlemor for a free bottle of kalish 😄 would be better than what theyre currently offering
Doesn't address the problems EverQuest has,not going to bring me back,I am someone who refuses to multibox, only point I could see to have this on is a NOBOX NOKRONO server, then I'd totally play there and I'd pay x2 sub fee for that.
These rule sets don’t really seem appropriate for a new TLP launch… not really rule sets even but more so game mechanics. Otherwise this is just another standard tlp with nothing new. Was hoping for another mischief rule set given how popular it was.
locked mobs are griefer's heaven and this is a way to kill pl's they have always been out to kill pling in this game b/c there is peeps who sells chars on websites so this isnt about making the exp better in the game its about killing plers
I think it sounds dope
The loot modifiers will make a nice since there is only eight weeks per expansion
2:15 XP bonus, Live alts, TLP alts
4:56 Encounter Locking
8:29 Powerleveling
10:00 Evolving Bonuses
21:45 Unlock Schedule
You do not need 2 boxes per client in classic lol. There are so many people leveling in every zone getting a group takes minutes.

This server is DOA with these rules.

It only took them 19 years to copy World of Warcraft on the Anti-Killstealing NPC Damage Lock
Didn't EQ2 release with this before wow? 👍
The 'Gain' on your mic is too high and your mic is peaking out. Just FYI
Im with you. Been waiting for new TLP news and this turd is dropped in our laps
they should make a new server and perma lock it at kunark or velious
There is p99 for that
Ew no thanks

Total garbage server. Clearly they are out of touch with what players want.

EQ has a fairly good player base with a few bad eggs, better then most games I have played. As far as how well this server will do, who knows?

plz let these servers die so we can do custom servers
This server is going to be totally dead
