All the patterns look spot on, TBH I've never noticed the extra hole in the injector but not messed with many post 83s! Could some of the silt got into to the injector from cleaning? 👍👍
I’ve no idea. The golf isn’t running quite right . In the previous video you can hear a stutter . Any ideas?? I’ve cleaned the injectors . And new fuel filter . New fuel too it’s kind of better.? But still has a hesitation. While the engine was running I sprayed brake cleaner on the vaccine pipes to see if it would Rev up = vacuum leak but there was non. Still not sure why
Once they flow the same I think I should be ok. The ultra sonic cleaner did clean a lot of dirt out of the injectors . The main reason I was doing this was because there was a miss when the car was running. So I cleaned the injectors . Replaced the fuel filter . New spark plugs and HT leads. I’m sure it all helped but also fresh fuel made the biggest difference
The metal shrouds can be knocked off then can replace the big rubber seals. Usually old seals are so hard they you need to spray soak with silicone before try to remove from engine. Plastic cups?? No at least get plastic bottles !! But grate if have an Ultrasonic Cleaner about.
Should the pump be running when the ign is turned no 1 and 2 injectors are spraying I replaced the 4 injectors with new ones and it’s still the same I dis connected the wire on the front of the engine control unit I doesn’t make any difference the fuel filter was fithlty the first thing I noticed replaced it also
That's not a good spray pattern I'm afraid. If you had a new one to compare to then instead of the individual streams that are visible with yours, you would see a finely atomised cone shape flow. I have seen much worse than that though
I was thinking that too, and retested after making the video . And the pattern was better. I’m wondering was there still dirt in the injectors getting flushed out?
Thank you so much this help, but I do have a question about the conection of the regular after you done testing you disconnect the wired from battery?
Yes put everything back to normal
Thanks

Don’t the injectors have to be back flushed to clean them making them very hard to do so best getting new ones?

I think so
Can the fuel distributor be opened to clean I think there’s dirt in it
Yes but you need special glue to seal it back that is resistant to Petrol
Great video! is this how you basically "tune" CIS?
If the injectors are injecting evenly. Then set co2 in the air box and ideal speed on the back of the manifold

Terrible spray pattern, get new ones and do something about that filthy metering head!
Good idea. I’m currently ordering parts
