    i remember pulling the metering head apart for the first time with no information after my car sat for a few years, quite complicated for a first timer haha. old fuel had stuck the piston in place so air box flap couldnt move it, goes good now.

      Hi! Is there ant video about it? I have an mk2 which was sitting for last 3 years, bet there is no fuel going to fuel lines to injectors. What could be seised or stuck?

    Great video showing us the various ways to increase fuel pressure and quantity going to the injectors. Can all this extra fuel be air- matched simply by adjusted the plunger sitting position?
    Would you be so kind as to list the various ways to increase fueling to the injectors.
    Cheers

    • @GreyGooseRestorations
      @GreyGooseRestorations  3 года назад +1

      Well this is where it gets a bit hard to test unless your on a rolling road, but yes by adjusting the plunger height will allow the AFR to be adjusted to suit a certain car and its modifications.

      @@GreyGooseRestorations what would be most interesting is a comparison of injector mists between factory kjet settings and modified kjet settings. I imagine a notable difference and should add a few power ponies.

    Great video, I recently refurbished mine and found the round filter had gone hard around the edges and would kink when trying to fit the metal clips, they went back on loose. Would you think this could cause any issue. I couldn't find a replacement.

      Which filter do you mean?

    • @adamc568
      @adamc568 2 года назад +1

      @GreyGooseRestorations I'm not sure the correct terminology but its the one that slides over the piston housing, it sits below the 4 circular seals and secured by x2 metal split rings. You said its hard to get hold of in the video...my mk1 golf gti sounds like it's running on 3 cylinders since a refurbished it.

    • @GreyGooseRestorations
      @GreyGooseRestorations  2 года назад +1

      Ah yeah the main gauze type cylinder filter, aslong as it doesn't or hasn't moved and still covers the inlet parts should be fine

    Amazing stuff
    My son and I have just got my old Scirocco 1.8 8v going after 13 years. My son understood all this hence he got it going 😂.
    Two questions
    How much power gain do you feel is to be gained from tweaking the injection system.
    We've got a 4 branch manifold with bespoke exhaust system. Standard air box with panel k and n. Not sure of power but it's quick and responsive . We got 16.5 quarter mile which we were pleased with.
    2. I feel this was so good for the time ,(my Scirocco would get 40+ mpg)
    Do you feel modern systems are that much better /reliable

    • @GreyGooseRestorations
      @GreyGooseRestorations  2 года назад +1

      Thanks, its hard to say how much it would gain but getting things spot on and adding a bit more fuel really makes a difference to how it performs.
      Modern systems are good but a well set up k-jetronic system can be fault free

      Hi, I bought the car recently for restoration as non runner, I fitted brand new fuel pump and filter, engine would not start until I figured out that I need to prime the system first then engine will fire up, runs for a minute or two then stall, when I do open ignition few times to prime I hear the metering head start making noise before I start the engine. The head should not make any noise, is it possible that the head building too much pressure and the fuel return valve is not opening?

    Luckily, thanks to you, I understand how KJet works. I am from France, and I have a Golf 2 Gti 8s EV, I know this car since I am a child, I used to go to school in the back seat.
    Anyway, from one day to another, It now refuse to start. I have spark to the candles, Fuel pompe is kicking on, Fuel comes into to the kjet. But apparently, because the candles are totally dry, fuel don’t go into the engine. A professional came but wasn’t able to start it, And I am not good enough to figure out what is the problem. Do you have any idea to help me ? 🤷‍♂️ I don’t really want to open the kjet.

    i saw your revision of the k jetronic. but you can get even more fuel out of it if you adjust the stroke of the airweigher. original it only has a stroke of 4.8 mm. if you adjust it properly you can even get 6mm. the full length of the slotted hole
