- It is great to have George Mauro from Humble Road back on the channel. In this video he provides a complete walk through tour of his very first build. This 2017 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 170" Extended high top is an exceptional chassis for making an building custom camper vans for enjoying the Van Life. This van has a front futon bed, center refrigerator & wardrobe and a rear long corner kitchen with full shower and toilet on the other side. The Lithium Iron Phosphate battery system with roof top solar and Inverter provide enough power that the van does not need an auxiliary generator.

Humble Road, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for mentioning you build with cardboard first!!!! That is such an amazing idea! I am preparing to build my own home on wheels and was worried about doing it and not being comfortable after it's done, then having to redo it. This just saved me so much worry. Amazing van, I plan on stealing some of your ideas, but I will give credit where it's due :) I like the aluminum better than wood also, seems like it would be stronger and lighter.

This builder put a lot of thought in his build. As he walks you through you can feel his pride and love for his product. he is not just a builder, he is an artist.

A year and a half to produce that cluttered mess of disjointed ideas, the poor lady. The materials and components would of cost her a pretty penny. That old guy calls himself an artist, hes a con-artist.
Yes I totally agree with you!! I've watched his RUclips channel for years now, he does *very impressive and beautiful* work!! The additions he made to his personal Pleasure Way van made it so stunning! I loved the screen door and wood work he did on the side, just gorgeous!

This man is a genius. I'm not even remotely anywhere near making a decision to build a van but I watch his channel with great interest as it is refreshing that he so generously share tips on what and why he is doing whatever it is and his passion is infectious. If I ever want a van built, I would want him to do it but reality is I may never be able to afford him!
Humble Road builder obviously cares about the quality of his work. His attention to detail and innovation is great. Love his concern for the needs of the client. Really impressed with his work ethic.
George is THE MAN! The greatest van builder, bar none! He’s the Einstein of van builds🙌🏽🙌🏽 He should rename his channel “Humble Road On 80/20.”👌🏽 The work done by him and Alex truly are works of art. It would be a dream to have them design my van, when I get it😊

Yes, George took some time this week with me. His show is every Sunday morning.
Wow, he thinks and rethinks his designs and he's willing to update his builds. He pays attention to usage, storage and the buyers needs. I know that people don't like waiting 1 1/2 years for your build but I am sure it is pure quality.
Love this build, the workmanship, the thought process and the passion which goes into the final product. I'm presently living in Trinidad having the sole responsibilty of caring for my parents my dad died exactly 3 yrs ago at 89 and my moms still here with me. My escape has been watching these van builds all hours of the day and night. I dream about the day I'm able to breathe again and travel around this way, its been 12 long challenging yrs and while i would do this all again I am tired need a nice break. Would love for you to do my build in the future!

For a moment I forgot I was watching a van build. Amazing layout. The over hanging cabinets and offset corners really give a perception of more space like he had mentioned.

Got to say I've been a Murphy and Happi Jac fan for a while, but I love that Futon design is so much simpler than those bed systems also seemed much faster than the Happi Jac and has less bed making than the Murphy's.

Very nice setup where the shower is. I have some comment about the fresh water filler hose, I think you need to put a lid cover so that the dust it doesn’t go into the hose. Also the removable door step, I think it’s better to put locking mechanism instead of rubber to hold in place just in case you step on the outer edge and it comes off.

Honestly, if he started a membership for diyers and companies who do builds where he does walkthrough videos as he works w/any updates, q&as with people he connects with during the build etc, everyone who wants to hire him but cant afford him can jave access to the how tos & why and why nots, your expertise is ah-mazing! This can be very profitable as a more passive revenue stream

Finally i saw my dream layout kitchen in the back bed at front (properly made a murphybed) in the same spot and the shower in the back curtain with a hidden drawer toitlet thing awesome!!!!

Wonderful open feeling throughout, a very smart floor plan. I have to admit, I am not a fan of the bathroom at the end, but in this built it worked great because it did not block the view. And the placement of the toilet: Genius! Loved everything about this one Patrick. Thank you for bringing it to us.

I think that type of bed might fit at the back on a lifted floor to allow a bigger garage. I like the bathroom in the front of the van

This van built is such a beaut and remains my george fav. Focus on details, practicality, functionality and comfort under his creativity and care make his vans mobile art. Glad to hear he is adding more muscle to his flock!

Sooo what I got from watching this is... if I can’t afford to have this man build and design my van... I shouldn’t have it. His passion would sell me. Details are important to him and I think that’s important for a small living space where everything needs it’s place. Dope van.
