    Thanks so much! This recipe is exactly what I needed. I was watching your other sprouting video this afternoon. And a couple of times before too.
    And tested sprouting mung beans and tri colored quinoa. The quinoa didn’t really sprout. Just a few. Perhaps I need to buy another brand? The mung beans went very well and my birds liked it too 🥰
    I was planning to go to the Ekostore tonight, to buy some other seeds to sprout. And then bumped into this new video. So I’m going to try out your recipe for my 6 sweet little budgies 🥰🦜💜

    I bought a mixed bag of seeds, lentils off amazon. Just put some in a container and soaked them overnight. Then drained them and put them back in the box with some wet paper towel and 2 days later they started sprouting.

    Very nice. You gave me a great idea in mixing seeds together to make sprouts. Glad you listed and described them; many I had never heard of before or even thought of sprouting. I have been sprouting green lentils, mung beans, green peas (but each separately) and my budgies enjoy them all. Now, I'm going to start mixing things together to give them more variety.

    Im just having troubles latelt with my tiels, they seem to not want anythings else except from seeds... they used to eat everything and im feeling so bad, maybe i did something wrong. I just want them to eat healthy and unfortunatly where I live we dont have avian vets either so I can check up on them, its a struggle. Can you advise what should I do? Thank you 🙏

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  2 года назад +1

      Try reducing the seeds. Remove the seeds before bed and feed only fresh foods in the morning. Change it up on how you present the food and change the ingredients.

    It's like they chop off the sprouts or I'm wrong ? 🤔

  • @Sylvelourie
    @Sylvelourie 2 года назад

    I actually tried using the Easy Sprout to make sprouts for my birds a while back, but I tried 2 or 3 sprouting mixes and the sprouts would smell bad. :( I understand that sprouts should not smell rotten. I definitely was making sure the moisture would drain out, so I'm still not sure what went wrong. I think I need to give it another try, because I really want to give my birds sprouts, but maybe a different method would work for me. I've considered the colander method might be the best way to go, and to sprout in very small amounts so hopefully that will work better.

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  2 года назад

      Try the colander method. I find the sprouts have more air and don't stay to wet to get mold. Rinse 2 or 3 times a day.

    Hi! My birds love your chop recipe but have stopped eating it very much now? What can I do when they stop eating their veggies? Thank you for all the great videos!

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  2 года назад +1

      Hi! Change up the ingredients. Add sprouts. Sprinkle some seed or millet on top of it to entice them to eat it.
      Take out any seeds the night before and feed the chop first thing in the morning as thats when they are hungriest. Hope this helps

    so my breeder friends told me it's best to feed them at an earlier stage, when the seed is just opening up. Is there a study on when it has most nutrients or what kinds ? So sad i can't feed your mix, i have tiny doves and Beans or Lentils are still too big for their beak. But i always enjoy watching your videos anyways

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  2 года назад

      Hi. As soon as they sprout its most nutritious. You can feed this mix by avoiding the beans. The seeds and grains are small for a dove to eat

  • @vstar305
    @vstar305 2 года назад

    This is so convenient as I have just purchased spouting seeds for my budgies but didn’t know how to prepare them! How would you rinse with cider vinegar? And also, do you supplement with dried seed too?

    • @Loveofpets
      @Loveofpets  2 года назад +1

      I have sprinked apple cider vinegar on the sprouts when I am rinsing. I rinse the sprouts and pour vinegar on them while in the strainer and let it soak for a minute or 2 and then rinse.
      You can add a splash of vinegar while doing the first soak. Grapefruit seed extract is also used on sprouts instead of vinegar.
      I feed dry seed as a treat.

      Yes you can however I stopped sprouting chia seeds because they form a gel around them and clog up my colander when rinsing as they are so tiny.
