      With the advent of options to watch movies at home and how much an Oscar win increases those profits, They are hamming it up for the cameras and their royalty payments.

    • @robertinoyanzanny275
      @robertinoyanzanny275 4 года назад +3

      @@timkruse9912 Exactly Mr. Kruse, nowadays the Academy allows the winner to practice a political speech during the Oscar acceptance. Meryl Streep, Leonardo DiCaprio and others. They couldn't keep it simple. Like Yul Brynner, his speech was short but enjoyable and memorable, if you made a mistake I will not give it back, of course back then the Oscars were more respectable, the only thing I disagreed about those times were that black actors were seated away from the whites and how can that not hurt, Hally McDaniel won the Oscar for achievement in best supporting acting roll in Gone with the Wind. She was seated away from the white, and how can that not hurt Ms McDaniel feeling. I think the academy is bias, and that you can buy the Oscar. Jack Nicholson donated $1 million to the Academy and that year he won his 3rd Oscar. He said it himself that donating $1m to the academy, winning the Oscar didn't help him promote his golfing tournament. Do you really think you can win two Oscars for playing the same roll, a mentally ill convict in One Flew over the coocko't nest and a mentally ill neighbor in As good as it gets. No, you don't deserve to win two Oscars for playing the same character. Joe Pesci won supporting acting for Goodfellas, yet nominated again for playing a gangster in Casino and The Irishman. I guess one thing I noticed about giving an acceptance speech at the academy is something that appear to be an academy rule. If someday I get nominated either for best screenplay or acting, and if I do win, I will break that rule even if the academy decides to ban me from future ceremonies, and that will be, first of all I will like to thank our mighty God, my lord, my savior.

    Anna Magnani, que teve que aprender o Inglês às pressas para estrelar The Rose Tatoo , cujo texto foi escrito especialmente para ela pelo dileto amigo Tennessee Williams, esteve ausente na cerimônia, mas compareceu, meio tensa, para a apresentação no ano seguinte. O discurso relâmpago de Brynner ficou na História " Espero que vocês não tenham errado porque, eu não vou devolver o prêmio". Ele mereceu porque é um ator vigoroso . e esta personagem grudou nele em toda a sua carreira.
