- James welcomes world-famous magician David Blaine to Westminster in the heart of London, and David asks James to hop in a 6,000-gallon tub for a bit of magic. After performing a card truck underwater while holding his breath, David sends James on a quick errand to fetch a bottle of wine he can enjoy with his cigar -- while he stays underwater waiting.

Whether u like magic or not, DAvid Blaine is an amazing example of continuous creative growth, innovation, limit-pushing, basically becoming a superhuman over like 2 decades. he's gonna be in the history books (or ipads or whatever ) its dope to have lived to experience this shit

The card, the wine, the cigar are nothing for such high level magician; I’m only amazed by how long Blane could hold his breath under water....
I think that’s the point. I bet he could do much harder tricks under water but he had to keep his heart rate extremely low to stay underwater for that long which doesn’t allow for complex maneuvers or tricks
Yeah he can do 17 minutes if he doesn't move, but if he's moving and doing tricks and stuff he could probably still do about 10

Well, big thumbs up to James actually for pulling this off, he went out running, bought wine and glasses, came back running and finally goes in water again. His dedication is pure and genuine. No other host can match dedication like his.

He's an unbelievable performer. His dedication to breaking the very limits of the human body is simply remarkable. I would thoroughly recommend you all watch his TED talk about how he was able to hold his breath for 17 minutes under water - his talking of the hardships and things he had been through in various attempts to push himself to the limit in the name of performance. Add to that the fact he's a brilliant magician in terms of his sleights and the creativity of his routines and you have a man that I have endless amounts of respect and admiration for.

I couldn't breathe when I watched this.
Then I checked the total duration of the clip, it's 8 and half mins. Then I relieved cuz i knew his record was 17 mins. This is nothing for him.
He did his 17:04 with oxygen assistance. This is without assistance. Not doubting him though, he previously did 7:30 while getting out of handcuffs (which wastes energy/oxygen). I would have guessed without handcuffs he could easily do 9+ minutes.
