@@texa Sure. But there are still other unexplained factors in it. For example, why did Marques happen to stop dealing cards at the 8th card, which happened to be an 8 of clubs in the first place?
Ok, I think I figured out how Marques did the flipping all the cards up except for one trick. When he was shuffling the deck himself 13:43, pay attention to the way he's putting the cards on top of one another. It looks like the cards are going in multiple different directions, but really there're only two directions, one facing up, one facing down centered around two cards facing back to back. Then when he showed that there were even cards facing back to back 14:06, he flipped the deck facing down and put it on top of the one already facing up, except that the first card in the facing up pile is facing down. Then all cards are facing one direction except for that middle one. But I still don't know how he got that card to be the exact one Tim was thinking about tho.
Yup you're right! Plus you can bend the deck a bit before doing the sloppy shuffle so it's easier to find the cards that are facing back to back. Search "sloppy shuffle", you'll find a ton of tutorials.
It was a forced card when he was flipping through the deck.
