    I haven't been on skates for 10 years. I bought some and I can skate fine but I didn't realize how rusty I became.

    This explains very well, because I figured out that I wasn’t leaning forward a bit, so now I know to do that when I practice. So you explained the steps in a the best way possible. thank you.

    I only skate once a week due to work, so a video like this is a good refresher for proper posture and stride. Taking it slow and practicing crossing feet too. Thank you. 🙂

      @@SideZwipeThank you but I have more question,I was trying to do it on a path but I lost control and I didn’t know how to use my stoppers as my wheels and keep my balance so I tried it on the grass but then I can’t push off so what would you recommend to practise and develop control?Also how to do you make sure that you don’t trip while sharing but still bend your knees

    • @SideZwipe
      @SideZwipe  25 дней назад +1

      @@Astral_Tiger I would recommend learning to skate in a big open space like a tennis/basketball court as this will help in getting comfortable with how the skating feels and you won’t have to worry about what around you. Focus on the movement of rolling as well not walking this will help you get more control and build up confidence. The Main thing is practice the more you make mistakes the more you learn. I hope this helps

    • @Astral_Tiger
      @Astral_Tiger 21 день назад +1

      @@SideZwipe Thanks so much for the reply but how do you push off.I can balance now partially due to your incredible advice. It feels I’m dragging the skates rather than gliding and my skate keep rolling back and forward rather than in the direction I want to.What would you recommend to fix this?Thank you

    • @SideZwipe
      @SideZwipe  20 дней назад +1

      @@Astral_Tiger Use the outside edge of your skate on the back leg, lean forward with your front leg then push off with you back leg and swap between front and back leg to keep moving forwards and backwards. You can also push off with you stopper to begin with as well

      I was the same after 20 odd years. I was a brilliant skater. I was like a beginner. I hope you perservered. It didn't take me long before I was back to my confident self on wheels. At 51, I'm not doing any fancy tricks, but I love skating for the exercise and the major buzz. Improves balance, strength, and all round fitness. Makes me feel amazing.

    You forgot to mention at the beginning to start with your feet in a v shape. Not parallel

    • @SideZwipe
      @SideZwipe  Год назад +1

      That is subjective to be fair it’s more important that you standing up and balanced if you start with a v shape learning balance will be harder posture is crucial to skating
