14:00 Someone who lived on skates his entire life being able to demonstrate in the most humble and beginner way how to stand up made me hit the subscribe button 👏🤝
Old time skater here... I casually teach friends and kids - and I struggle to clearly communicate concepts that have become instinctive to me... Your video saved me: so clearly do you lay out all the elementary steps - the explicit breakdowns I needed to make my teachings useful... Thank you !
I don't even have Skating shoes and just tried it once for 7 minutes but didn't do well in front of my friends and the whole hall, So RUclips started popping up videos like these to me lol, I can't believe I watched the whole course, Thank U Teacher
As a inline trainer/coach myself I do like this video. Every single step very well explained at low entry level that feels comfortable for beginners. 👍
I was clueless when I began watching your video, I tried everything and practiced along and now I am skating slowly while typing this command on my phone.😢❤😊
you are so incredibly kind for teaching this for free. ❤ it’s clear that you’ve been teaching for a while, this is very comprehensible for any beginner.
The perfect video for my daughter. I usually am very bad at transmitting feeling into words for something I do naturally and this video definitely will help her understand better what I mean. Thanks!
Roller blade noob here! That part about parallel turning by shifting weight to the back was an eye opener! I'm having such a hard time turning and stopping, and I'm hoping to give these all a go soon. Thank you!🎉
Hey Ricardo, great video as always! Your content has consistently helped me improve my inline skating, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you. I'm thrilled to be the first one commenting today! Thanks again.
Wow, great video! Reminds me of my childhood when I learned all this through trial and error. You explain everything perfectly! Wish I had this video back in the day. Awesome job Ricardo as usual!
Many thanks for that awesome video. It is very well explained. I bought my skates yesterday and today, I practiced on the carpet in my basement while watching this video. Now, I do not feel as nervous to go try my roller blades in the park! For a professional, I find that you have the precious talent of vulgarization which allows the beginner to better understand.
This has helped me alot thank you. I'm 35 and just got my 1st skates so I can skate with my son while he bikes. So I was nervous as. Not sure if this helps but the skates I got are black THEM 909S. I'll let you all know when I've grasped the basics and can do it. Never to old to learn knew things.
Hey Ricardo, big thanks from England here. I'm just starting to skate and your advice is really helping me to take my first strides and understand what i need to do.
coming from hockey skating you did a REALLY good job at explaining the fundamentals!! even to the point where I was learning the reasons behind things I inherently knew/picked up from copying the instructor. you're in good hands!!
I skated a ton when I was a kid but I haven’t since. I’m 34 and am trying to get back into it. But I’m still pretty green on the skates so I’m watching videos to get better.
I’ve recently switched from Roller Skates to Inline skates and there were something’s I still didn’t quite understand yet but this video helped a lot thank you!
It looks so fun. I will try again at 40 years old. At 10 years, I was quite easy and have so fun with my quad. I will try to get again this feeling. Regards from France.
Thank you for this video! I want to start with ice hockey but first I’m trying to skate so I can learn the basics before I skip to ice skates and start with ice hockey!
I wish I had watched this video first!! I really hurt my wrist and my pride by falling backwards incorrectly! I love this video! Thank youuuuuuu I can't wait to try again now that I have this info on moving forward!
Understandable! I was at a roller rink and I finally tried off the wall but fell backwards catching myself with my hands because of my natural instinct and sprained my wrist. Ill try again soon though!
I would love to learn im 60 and quite fit. But the reason i have never is lack of a venue. Nowhere is flat and smooth and PRIVATE i am going to wobble and fall and i don't want to be entertaining the local youths or appearing on social media so everyone can laugh at me
Hey, I’m 55 and got my first ones yesterday. First time on roller blades and I went to Hyde Park in London, lots of people. Yes I fell but only 4 times, and some people laughed at me so I just said to them, Hey it’s my first time and I’m doing something new at my age !!! They soon changed their minds and stopped laughing and were encouraging. It was great fun and now I’m itching to get back on the blades, I ache but have so much fun that I don’t care. Hope you got started and are having great fun.
Angela -- maybe if you live in an urban area, there's a shopping mall or an office building that's closed on w.e. not far from you, and you can try to practice in their parking lot? Or sometimes in biiig parking lots, there's a top floor or bottom floor that's not crowded except on special occasions, and you can practice there... you might get kicked out if spotted, but as a more mature citizen, you might leave you alone if you can sweet-talk the watchmen. :-) Good luck -- it's a lotta fun.
as a representative of local youth if i saw a 60 old person rollerblading it would only make me believe you can do sports no matter the age! also as i do it myself in the city, i also see some older people and that’s pretty cool
I've rollerbladed since I was in middle school (32 now) on and off for my whole life but nobody ever actually taught me any of this. I recently got back into it and I was really curious what the trick to it actually is. Great video! And I wanted to say that when you first atarted skating forward, I always think of that motion like you're throwing your weight forward. I have a really hard time stopping, using the brake, and going backwards. I hope to finally master those skills!
Ugh i feel you.. 35 yrs old here. Started roller blading last year but.. Im a mom of two so most of the time we're so busy and i can hardly go out skate like atleast twice a month.. I also regret buying sizes that too big for me.. 😢 But we can do this.. I'm also having a hard time going backwards, then stopping using my heel breaks is really helpful..
Great full-length video! I started during covid with soft boots, and they were, as I realized eventually. literally rotating around my foot as I tried to turn, so I kept falling. The boot "fit" correctly, but with the shape and fit, it just couldn't hold to my foot in a way that felt and supported me learning technique. =)
Where was this guy when I tried skating in 2021 lol! I stopped skating due to getting busy, and lack of places to learn to skate. I found one place at a local park but it was an outdoor roller hockey rink. Surface was rough and full of trash. Not many good places for me to learn to skate in south florida. Nothing spacious with smooth series and with less people.
this is very helpfull for me. thank you so much... may you always be healthy edit: after my skate arrived, i can launch in around 15 minute first time i wear inline skate. i follow up your tutorial. Arigatou gozaimasu, sensei🤣🤣
Great video Mr Lino. I have been a big fan of yours and have learnt a lot watching your videos. Love from India. Would love to have you sometime in India🇮🇳🇮🇳
Wow terima kasih atas videonya. Bulan depan akan balik lagi ke komen ini setelah beli sepatu inline skate. Doakan semoga bisa belajar dan bisa walaupun dari 0.
Ooohh my God!! Wow you save me this morning from losing my teeth 😂. thank you soo much, your are a good teacher with full package. In coming days i have to give you what i have to appreciate, it can be small but just know it's from my heart for thanking you my brother because this was really helpful. Stay blessed 🙏
Hi mr. Lino, so amazed with your vedios.. I'm just having regrets of buying inline skates without much knowledge.. I bought a pair of inline skates frome decathlon /oxelo.. It's soft boots.. I wear 37.5 shoe euro size but since the decathlon doesn't have much of sized that time i bought 41 euro.. It's so big for me, but i tried to wear 3 pairs of socks.. If i just found your vedio before buying the wrong size.. It would have atleast give me much of control... Thank you so much.. I still feel like find them really good to use though..
Thanks so much, Lino! this video really works for beginners, like me! It would let me easily know how to choose skates that fit my level and how to safely learn to skate!
The one thing I will say about a bike helmet vs an aggressive sport helmet.... A bike helmet is only meant for one crash and then needs replaced.. The aggressive helmets are meant to take a hit over and over.
A big thing to remember is that you want to get a skate that is smaller than your shoe size. My first skate was my shoe size and it was too big and affected balance. My new skate now is 2 sizes lower than my shoe size. You want your toes to touch the tip of the boot without scrunching them. For us newbies we aren't used to having something so fitted and think it's too small but it's not. Made my balance way better when I had a proper fitting skate.
I was out of line before this video. Now I’m inline.
Ffs 😂
That’s funny😂😂
Hihihi
lol best comment on this video!
He doesn't rush through the video. He takes his time and goes through everything, even the most basic things. Thank you.

This man's ability to stay perfectly still on skates is astounding. Thanks so much for the video.
As a inline trainer/coach myself I do like this video. Every single step very well explained at low entry level that feels comfortable for beginners. 👍
I am a skating newbie.
Observing yourself, I think that roller skating means wiping your feet on the carpet.
Congratulations for a fine work !!!

Hey Ricardo, great video as always! Your content has consistently helped me improve my inline skating, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you. I'm thrilled to be the first one commenting today! Thanks again.
I was 1sec ahead of you in commenting.
One of the best videos showing how to skate if not the best
Wow, great video! Reminds me of my childhood when I learned all this through trial and error. You explain everything perfectly! Wish I had this video back in the day. Awesome job Ricardo as usual!
lol same, I think an older neighbor kid helped me❤
Learn how to fall is by far the most important lesson that I've learned in this video.
Obrigado tuga!!

thank you sir
Thank you so much for learning us.
Please make a video about how to deal with pressure points and how to properly wash a heat mouldable liner.
