Really useful tutorial you are the best 🤘🏼 my question is are you satisfied about studio one own vsts (piano, guitars etc.) I wanna buy Studio One sphere so i wonder your thoughts
Good question. There are a lot of great instruments included with Sphere. If you check out some of my livestreams, many are done using only stock instruments. Usually I mention that in the title. So you can listen and decide for yourself. I do use a lot of external instruments, but I've collected them over many years. If you are beginning, you will find a lot of value in the in the included instruments.
I'm in a high school Music Technology class and have to make a 16-measure-long song on Studio One. My teacher gave no instruction, so I have to just dive in headfirst, and this is my first time doing anything like this. I feel so dumb right now, but I can't figure out how to actually record with a software instrument? Like actually *make* and record the sound? Every time I look up "how to record on studio one," I just get results of people doing vocals or recording physical instruments, so maybe I'm just wording it wrong. I can play on the little keyboard that pops up, but nothing gets recorded and becomes part of a track. Is that something you'd be willing to explain (if I even made sense)? I'm a little desperate right now haha
I may know the problem: How are you triggering the keyboad? You can't click on it. You need to use the QWERTY keyboard by pressing "caps lock" after you've selected the track. Then, you can click record and use the keyboard keys to trigger the sound and it will record to the track. Does that make sense?
Hi Max, thanks for your videos 🙏🎶. Would you please let me know what is going on when I have recorded a track say with impact kit then I go to my new track say with maitai and it plays both instruments at same time. What do I do to silence impact as I record the new one? I'm using one midi keyboard. Thanks
Hey Chris, this is because both tracks are 'armed', which means the red recording circle is illuminated and MIDI is being received. Click the circle on one of the tracks to turn it off. Then, click the wrench icon above the tracks list and make sure "instrument input follows selection" is turned on. Then whenever you select a track, it will arm it and the previous track will be unarmed.
@@maxkonyi thank you for responding right away. Yes I know about this. I have the record button disarmed and I checked the wrench to see input follows is selected. Seems odd or am I missing something else. Thank you
@@chrisrussell1318 So with all tracks disarmed, you're still hearing sound? BTW Chris, you should join the Discord if you're so inclined. It's a much better place to get help with this kind of thing. There's a link to it in the description of all my recent videos 🌞
@@maxkonyi Thanks man. I did join discord to do just that. I wanted to get on the last one you did with making 70s music but I just feel somewhat lacking in skills to do the competition. I will definitely be joining you here soon. You just have such a cool thing going and have fueled my inspiration to write more and more. Been a musician many years but pretty new to the DAW and plugins. I've got some cool stuff going. Sometimes just run into roadblocks but am learning this thing! You rock man! Looking forward to meeting you. Peace and blessings my friend 🙏 ❤
After adding 10 instrument tracks, the presence doesn't load the selected instruments anymore. Like if I was limited to the amount of tracks I can create. I have the professional version and I used to be able to use an unlimited amount of tracks. I don't understand.
Can you just show how to play a song on a piano, not a midi interface and record it on studio one. Then how to make it pro quality. Thanks. Short and sweet no added explnations.
@@maxkonyi All I mean is record something to audio tracks from your right and left jacks out of the keyboard. Then enhance it. I record 1 track left and 1 track right. I no longer have a real piano. To heavy for gigs, lol. Thanks.
Thank you, you were very thorough and to the point with your instructions.
Glad it was helpful 🌞
Of course, melodies are always purple :) Great videos!! Even for a punk rock composer!
😂
Yes!

What CPU do you use and do you find it sufficient ? Thanks John
I use an i9 9900k. Definitely sufficient. What you'll need depends on the kind of music you want to make but more powerful is always better 🌞
What about the Audio out?
I'll have to keep messing around, this seems confusing compared to it sharing a slot with the track.
Can you rephrase the question?

I think I figured it out. When I clicked on impact, I just switched it from existing keyboard to new keyboard. Thanks again and blessings 🙏

Hmm. Are you certain you're using the Pro version? There shouldn't be a limit...
@@maxkonyi I figured it out, my AVG anti virus was preventing studio one from accessing my files. But thanks.

Maybe someday! I don't have my piano tuned at the moment, let alone mic'd up. But I'm sure I'll get around to it at some point...
