This guy is doing it right. It's these clowns that have intros and dumb theme songs that people don't wanna watch. This guy just got to the point. And whats the point of advertising on RUclips LOL RUclips is global, someone's gonna drive a cross the country to find him? The odds of someone local to him watching this is very low
Worked in the auto industry as a service repair technician/ mechanic for years and I approve this method of tint glue removal. This guy knows what he's doing 👍👍
@@jaynikk758 Yes it does and it did for me when I removed old tint film. Put a decent amount of the solution onto the window surface, wait a minute or two, then scrape it off with a razor carefully.
Came back to say this was the easiest and most straightforward video (straight to the point) and method (simple and effective) that I came across. Got an entire vehicle's tint removed and windows clean in about an hour. Keep up the good work.
This really works! It's simple cheap and cleans as it works. I tried window film adhesive removers from auto parts stores and even went to tint shops who was trying to charge me 600 to remove and reapply. This method only cost me 5 dollars and I was done both windows in less than 10 minutes!
This worked. I had removed what I thought was all the tint and left nothing but glue. When I went a spayed the windows with dishwashing liquid and water, I then found out that the tint must have peeled off a single layer. I went to use a clean razor blade and peel the rest came off really easy while keeping it soaked. Thanks.
I'm a handyman on weekends. Just got a call to remove tint from a Corolla. Glad you made this video. Saved me from using some other method and a lot of cursing. Thx!
This is excellent. I just did this on my driver's window and I used the blade by hand, even though I had a handle. Shuda looked here first. I have to do the pssngr's window tomorrow, so now I'll be a pro. BTW, I had to do this on my 2013 Lexus because I moved to Alberta where you have to pass this insane mechanical inspection to register an out-of-province vehicle. My vehicle passed mechanically but tinted front side windows are not allowed here (didn't know). And, BTW2, a local glass company wanted $300 to do both windows. RUclips to the rescue.
I used the Johnson’s yellow stuff mixed 1:1 with water and had good results in a house window removing film adhesive. Worked best when I wetted a section down, and also wiped the path I was scraping, again, just prior. Gotta keep it covered in the solution for it to lift off readily.
Perfect video. Just removed the front tint on my E46 coupe going to try this tomorrow since it seems like the easiest and most straightforward instructional video for removing the glue.
Looked at dozens of videos and yours is very informative especially about the steps you need to do and what not to do! Thank you!! Worked perfectly!!!! 👏👏👏👏
Awesome video mate, didn't have all the tools so generic shampoo and a wide tile scraper it was. Even with less than ideal tools it only took me 10 minutes even with the window tint being damaged.
You forgot to mention when scrapping the window with a blade, you must use a stainless steel or else you would end up scratching the glass. Nail polish remover works wonders as well.
I just watched 5 videos with dudes struggling to get the glue off and you honestly in my mind made them all look like idiots for even making the dam videos while they didn’t know their dam selves!!! Good stuff bro! Now I gotta go back and let them know that not only did their videos suck but they wasted my time that I would never get back!!! Thank you!!!
I have tried several other things to try and remove the glue and nothing worked, then i find this video and it actually works , it only took me 5 minutes a window for a total of 20 minutes , thanks for the video.
@@mannymoran6186 i just used a 10oz spray bottle with water and about a table spoon of the Johnson&Johnson bady shampoo. Did all four windows on my daughter's car. Sprayed it on and let it soak about 45 seconds and sprayed again and scrapped it with a razor blade and it came right off.
Any tips for the rookie mistake of removing a bunch of scatches on glass as i didnt know about the stainless blades when tinting and also scrapng overspray off .yeah all my glass .not good at all please help
I had to use tape on my window to keep it up due to the regulator being busted and have to wait until 8/4 to get it into the shop now I got all this tape residue on the window really thick to gonna give this method a try and will let ya know
I am facing the challenge of removing tint from my windshield. It is still pretty fresh, only a couple of days old, so i hope the glue doesnt stick very hard. What babyshampoo do you recommend?
Hello how you doing I have tried everything but I have not tried the baby shampoo and water I will try that tomorrow I'm having a hard time and it's the back windows
How can I get the glue off of the inside windshield where the glass is curved, and especially in the deep area on the bottom? A razor blade doesn't lay flat on most of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Chris, I bought an OLD olds, 2001 Alero, and the tinted windows were my 1st "gotta go" endeavor. (I worked for the best tint shop in town for 10 years, ran shop.. didn't tint) I didn't use heat gun, used ammonia & razor blade. Don't know what kind of monster tint this is, but I only achieved 2 clear windows. NOTHING I've tried since has taken the adhesive or the tacky tint shards off. Any suggestions ?? ( I'm too embarrassed to ask my good friend that I worked for ) thanks!!
I was working on the second window in the yard and lots of glue stayed on the window. A neighbour came over and said that rubbing alcohol would work well for this. She went home and got me a spray bottle of hand santizer. Worked like a charm. It softens the glue in seconds and makes scraping it much easier. Now, my car is tint free. Yaaaaayyy!
I wished I saw your video earlier! 3 hours spent wasting time with acetone... lucky I didnt damage the interior. This worked perfect, thankyou for the expert advice and concise video. Running the razor in a diagnol up direction yielded the best results for me, interested to know if the same for others?
even though we all like window tint, once it gets creased or bad, it actually looks worse than No tint at all. Gotta do my 2 front windows tomorrow. actually cant wait to have CLEAN clear windows ,instead of crinkled old Tint.
It’s worse than unsightly, it’s dangerous. You can’t see out of it properly. We’ve got a work car with old tint. Can’t see properly out of the back windshield or the driver’s window. Makes driving it pretty scary, to be honest. I hate it.
@@kathyheyne6030 Update: Mine had not 1 but 2 layers of Tint. I worked at it 3ish hours, got almost all of it, but noticed one are looked clearer, come to find out theres another layer of window tint, this was so dissapointing, so that was another weekend day. Finally got it all off Yes it looks much cleaner & much safer but Tint is nice as long as it isnt too dark or old.
The side windows are cake, it’s the rear that can be a hassle, especially when you have leftover glue between the brake light and glass, it can be difficult to get in there and remove the leftover adhesive.
I like your videos because they get right to it (no long intro or other BS), and they are clear and concise. Very helpful.
Ong great video
Ditto!_✌🏼
I'm assuming u hate Scotty kilmers intro lol
Yes indeed

Does it work for residue that is very old and dried up?

I used Dawn and warm water, it worked awesome too! Thanks for the video
This was gold, previous homeowner left tints on all downstairs sliding doors and windows. Works way better than spraying rubbing alcohol. Thanks! 👊
Nice video. Straight to the point and no waffling - 100% Well done.
Worked perfectly...I used windex or glass cleaner and it worked just fine. Thanks
Dude, you just save me $300 for tent removal, I will definitely pass your video on to others. thank you, Giuseppe

Thanks for the video. This worked perfectly just like you described without using harsh chemicals or heat gun.
How can cleaning be done on the rear window without damaging the resistors?

What is the percentages of water to baby shampoo?

Thanks. But where to get a blade so easily?

Would a plastic scraper blade damage the window or am I good?
