The Historia and Ymir parallels are so evident in this episode, Isayama’s foreshadowing started since the early seasons! I actually felt so bad for Ymir she suffered so much. Did anyone realise that Eren used the words Historia said to him in the cave scene and said them for Ymir?
Wrong. It was Stockholm Syndrome that Ymir had, falling in love with her kidnapper... It's nothing about the "slavery" instinct or belief but blind love. Mikasa wants Eren's seed for sure. And Isayama failed this part of the writing tbh, he should have given his own creation more time to develop with this idea, instead he wrapped that explanation up with only a few panels in 1 final chapter.....
@@Aditya_Raj0811 sure! So regarding Ymir and Historia’s parallel: Krista and Historia aren't the same, while Historia she started out as her parallel when she was Krista, she quite literally broke free from that and became her antithesis when she embraced herself as Historia and saved Eren. Historia breaking free of her old persona, and by extension, her fate of being like Ymir (a girl that strives to be wanted by everyone) she literally inspires Eren to live for himself in which he uses to inspire Ymir 4 years later, going full circle. Because Ymir was essentially just doing what Frieda was telling Historia to be, a selfless girl that is wanted and loved by everyone, which wasn't truly "selfless". When Historia broke out of that and embraced living for herself, she's literally going against how Ymir acted -Frieda told her to act and that history. Eren & Historia’s words mirrored each other’s. This is why we say that indirectly, Historia was alongside Eren in freeing Ymir. But EREN freed her.
If you think about it, The Attack Titan is probably the little will of Ymir to rebel against King Fritz, but because she's too attached to him (Stockholm Syndrome), she just couldn't do it by herself, that's why she gives the successor of The Attack Titan a will to free her (Eren Jaeger) 2000 years later, hence why The Attack Titan goal is to seek freedom (for her) and never obeying the self-righteous king
@@reapxiety King Fritz may abused her over and over, but he also gave her something she wanted, Maria, Rose, and Shina. She received loved from her daughters, and that's the only thing she ever wanted before Eren told him about what is really meant to be freedom
@@reapxiety Some people really don't mind that, no matter how weird that sounds. Her personality was also explained by Frieda citing the book. She wants to be helpful and everyone to love her.
He's still have faith Eren will do Paradis and Kiyomi plan which is partial rumbling, but NO, Eren was disappointed and want to experience his freedom by flatten the world outside the island
I mean...armin is right, Eren is on their side. The difference is armin wants him to destroy imminent enemies while Eren wants to kill potential ones aswell.
Armin was an advocate for a small scale of the rumbling to wipe out the military of Marley and to defend paradis not a full scale rumbling to kill everyone outside the walls, thats why he was confused when he saw wall Maria been destroyed aswell
If Ymir returning to the ancient king of Eldia seemed incomprehensible, just look at most abuse victims even in today's world. Even if it was a twisted and horrible relationship, it was still the only thing even close to affection that she knew. So even though she could have squashed him like an ant, she kept going back to him because she didn't know or have anything else. It's a tragic, dependent type of " love " that's basically Stockholm Syndrome. It's terrible, but unfortunately accurate.

If anyone’s confused as to why Ymir went back to Fritz instead of killing him, it was a slave mentality and being abused in other ways, used as a breeding tool and a weapon. Fritz had control over her mentally, she was a child who never had a voice in this situation
*Spoiler free Yep it was Ymir this whole time, she was the one who guided and lead Eren there. Waiting for him for 2000 years. Ever since the first episode and manga chapter of attack on titan when Eren woke up from his dream/nightmare sleeping by the tree with mikasa waking him up. Ever since that episode, when Ymir said to Eren ”to you in 2000 years” This is what it lead up to. Goddam Isayama!
@@MaxPower-cm6ie well you will find out in the end of the story. Don’t wanna spoil too much. I’am only saying what i find out when the chapter of the manga released.
@@MaxPower-cm6ie But let me says this atleast. We know and Eren knows, Ymir is the one who has lead him there, she has been waiting 2000 years for someone, for him, Eren. To end this long cycle of suffering. I mean it just confirms Ymir deliberately reached out to Eren ”to you 2000 years from now” at the very beggining of the story with Eren then waking up from a dream. And now finally Eren has found her, ”to you 2000 years ago” or as crunchyroll type it ”from you 2000 years ago. As it is like eren saying to Ymir ”to you 2000 years ago” It is almost like Ymir planned the whole thing, a plan 2000 years in making. which is just brain hurting i know but as said you will find out more when you see the end how it trully is. Unless they change it as there is rumors of alternate ending, that Isayama wanted to change the ending from the manga in the anime.
Zeke: "So if you start the rumbling, what happens to the rest of the world?" Eren: "The foundation has to be built on something. Even our father recognized that." -- Zeke then sees the world in ruin and is standing on a pile of skulls. -- Zeke: "No, Eren! I CAN'T BE A PART OF THIS!" Eren: "Then what can you be a part of?"
Your the reason why I started watching Attack of Titan and I have gotten to the latest episode. This is a crazy show....Thank you for letting me know about it!!!
Ymir goes back cause she has no other options, she’s a slave mentally trapped by her captor even if she had the power to kill him she doesn’t, sad reality but true.
Armin and Mikasa completely underestimated how far Eren was willing to go. He kept them in the dark for so long for a reason, he knew they wouldn’t agree to what he had planned. “Eren is on our side” 😢
Jami if notice in the flashback of yomir the 13 hands the were pointing on her refers to the 13 years of titans lives and the bloody white flower with the 9 leafs refers to the 9 main titans.
Armin was initially under the assumption that Eren would simply use enough Titans to either give Marley a warning or trample on them. He just didn't think that Eren would use everything against the world itself.
Lots of people are confused why Ymir went back - I think it's just that she wasn't just a slave by physical threat, she was a slave mentally, she never had the concept of being free, until the culmination of her eternity of punishment in the paths place and 2000 years in the real world coming back to her through the Attack Titan and Eren. That's why it showed her with eyes for the first time, the first time she understood she had free will.
we debate ymir choices way back when it release it on manga but shes so innocent she didnt know what to do, and she develop her feelings on king fritz so thats that!
Founding Titan Eren's face when he declares that he wants to destroy the world is honestly my new favorite frame of the entire series. It's menacing and serious and just awesome
Fun fact, the scene where Maria Rose and Sheena eat ymir was Shown in the ending of season 2 before it was even in the manga. This chapter came out in 2018 and the season was 2017. So anime onlys knew how she her powers were passed on b4 the manga readers.
The powers never changed the fact that she was never free, that she was a slave. She had nothing, knew nothing but self sacrifice. She was literally betrayed by everyone around her, and she accepted it with no words to give. She doesn't question, she obeys. So even in death, she does the same. 2000 years spent where a moment already feels like an eternity
It’s crazy to me how the author managed to make both opposing side the good guys.Neither of them is an evil villain cause they are assholes. You can sympathize with both sides and it’s almost breaks your heart to see them fighting and killing eachother.
Ymir is a _God for Eldians_ Ymir is a _Devil for Marleyians_ Ymir is a _Slave for King Fritz_ But for my man Eren, Ymir is a Human being who wants freedom.
the reason Armin was saying it like it was a good thing was cuz he thought Eren was just using the rumbling to attack the allied forces in Marley who plan to attack paradise. Armin realized it wasn't a good thing when he realized Eren was unleashing ALL of the wall titans towards the entire world
In the book Historia is reading, the "Devil" Ymir is making a deal with looks like Eren's attack titan face... I wonder if an old attack titan holder wrote that book, since they could see the eventual team up of Ymir and Eren...
So as a reminder, there are 3 main tasks we currently have. 1. For Eren to experience his freedom. 2. To ensure that his friends can live long "To save mikasa and armin..." 3. To free Ymir from slavery, break the curse and to erase this titan's power.
She's been a slave ever since she was a child, she literally doesn't know any way of life except serving others and doing what they say; Eren is the "someone" she was waiting for, which is to say that no one in her ENTIRE life had said "you can choose" except for Eren she felt like she needed PERMISSION to exert her free will, and that's heartbreaking
8:40 Yes. That's why she was considered a slave even in Zeke's eyes when he first came to the paths. I don't exactly know why, maybe because of the War Renouncing Vow, but for some reason even after everything Ymir can't disobey someone with royal blood. And regarding her past, being a slave is the only thing she knew. When you let a caged lion outside he'll come back cause he was never taught how to survive in the wild
The thing about Ymir is that she had been conditioned to never disobey the king. It wasn't that she didn't want to stop him, she literally couldn't. She was basically a dog to him.

And that is the cause of the 13th year curse of ymir of all the titan's shifters
its isayama's fav number
@@cinnay99 time is relative and while she was building the titans she probably spent far more than just 2000 years, probably tens or hundreds of thousands of years if not millions. To drag a water bucket, and put the sand together to build a single titan probably took lifetimes.
She was 13 she died, to my understanding, she was even younger when she turned into a titan
Ymir "made a pact with the Devil of All Earth"
and then she did it again.
Underrated comment
Random Kid: "If we are in Paradise, where is Hell ?"
Eren: "Say no more..."
The speech my name is eren yeager will probably go down as one of the most important scenes in attack on titan, since it holds so much meaning and especially since you can see eren is addressing all subjects of ymir.
"When you create a Devil, don't cry when it comes knocking at your door"
They brought that upon themselves.
And Eren is no monster, nor devil.
He's human. And human's are capable of doing both good and evil for sake of achieving their goals.
The message i personally got from this Manga and Anime.
"A monster is in each and every one of us, we've just haven't been pushed far enough to let it out."
Every human could be geniuenly capable of doing what Eren did, given the right circumstances to do so.
We just subconciously supress that "Monster" inside of us trying to be the best we can, but a day might come it is set free and gets out of our control.
It really gets you thinking.
That's why i love SnK, it taught me a lot.
nah eren is just a simp.....
and a bird
Exactly😢😢
There are far better solutions than wiping out the entire world with the rumbling. Eren is just a "suicidal maniac" like Jean says.
yeah but sadly the real reason why he did everything....
@@nightly4303 nope he is a monster that was created by Marley's hatred they brought this upon themselves, when karl fritz fled to the island marley had the chance to start over but they did genocide, eren just used uno reverse card on em
The reason Armin initially thought that the release of the Wall Titans was a good thing is that he couldn't hear the soundtrack in the background.
My heart can’t take both of these lit episodes on Sunday 😵💫 I can’t tell which one was better
both are wrong
The two episodes count as one according to Wit studio.
aot and demon slayer right?
Fun fact : The guy who has animated the wall falling and the begening of the rumbling at 11: 37 is a french animator, he got paid 140€ for animated 15 sec of the rumbling, he has worked on it during 1 month and 1 week, His name is Dorian Coulon, his name appear at the end of the episode, he did the animation in his bedroom xD. He has also drawn the Colossal Titan who appear at 11:50 in 2D.
The Historia and Ymir parallels are so evident in this episode, Isayama’s foreshadowing started since the early seasons! I actually felt so bad for Ymir she suffered so much. Did anyone realise that Eren used the words Historia said to him in the cave scene and said them for Ymir?
What kind of foreshadowing and words . Explain pls
Wrong. It was Stockholm Syndrome that Ymir had, falling in love with her kidnapper... It's nothing about the "slavery" instinct or belief but blind love. Isayama was trying to parellel the love of Ymir and King Fritz with Mikasa and Eren, the only "slavery" part is that love cages you like Mikasa simps for Eren 24-hour non-stop. Mikasa wants Eren's seed for sure. And Isayama failed this part of the writing tbh, he should have given his own creation more time to develop with this idea, instead he wrapped that explanation up with only a few panels in 1 final chapter.....
@@Waterbug1591 damn copypasta
@@Aditya_Raj0811 sure!
So regarding Ymir and Historia’s parallel:
Krista and Historia aren't the same, while Historia she started out as her parallel when she was Krista, she quite literally broke free from that and became her antithesis when she embraced herself as Historia and saved Eren.
Wish more people knew about this. It’s so important
But how do you get Stockholm Syndrome from being treated poorly -_-
@@reapxiety King Fritz may abused her over and over, but he also gave her something she wanted, Maria, Rose, and Shina.
Don't like how it turned out, but i guess atleast her daughters loved her, pretty great personality too
But why thooooooooo ;-;
Armin said "we won" cause they were literally fighting to help Eren start the rumbling.
Armin : *saw the wall maria disappear*
It was at this moment, Armin knew.. he f'd up
He's still have faith Eren will do Paradis and Kiyomi plan which is partial rumbling, but NO, Eren was disappointed and want to experience his freedom by flatten the world outside the island
I mean...armin is right, Eren is on their side. The difference is armin wants him to destroy imminent enemies while Eren wants to kill potential ones aswell.
The world kept calling paradis island devils so Eren literally took that personal and became a devil.
They worked very hard to force eren to kill them so you can’t feel bad when they asked for it.😂
Michael Jordan: ok. Well imma show you i can do better
The amount of foreshadowing, I need to rewatch the entire series to pick them all.
Honestly you probably won’t be able to, there are so many little things
If anyone’s confused as to why Ymir went back to Fritz instead of killing him, it was a slave mentality and being abused in other ways, used as a breeding tool and a weapon. Fritz had control over her mentally, she was a child who never had a voice in this situation
Stockholm syndrome as well it's truly sad
@@Mimi_1988 I personally don’t see it as Stockholm but it can fall under that in a way to alot of people even though I don’t see as that at all

Yep it was Ymir this whole time, she was the one who guided and lead Eren there.
Waiting for him for 2000 years.
Ever since the first episode and manga chapter of attack on titan when Eren woke up from his dream/nightmare sleeping by the tree with mikasa waking him up.
Ever since that episode, when Ymir said to Eren ”to you in 2000 years”
This is what it lead up to.
Goddam Isayama!
Not gonna spoil but you are half right half wrong.
What do u mean she guided him
@@MaxPower-cm6ie well you will find out in the end of the story.
As it is like eren saying to Ymir ”to you 2000 years ago”
It is almost like Ymir planned the whole thing, a plan 2000 years in making.
which is just brain hurting i know but as said you will find out more when you see the end how it trully is.
Unless they change it as there is rumors of alternate ending, that Isayama wanted to change the ending from the manga in the anime.
crazy how the season 2 ending explained Ymir backstory wonder if ishiyama let them know since then
I'll forever be grateful for the super wholesome "Eren adopts Ymir" fanart that came of this
Look at the Founder Ymir's eyes... So lifeless until Eren told her that she's no slave....
Zeke: "So if you start the rumbling, what happens to the rest of the world?"
Eren: "The foundation has to be built on something. Even our father recognized that."
-- Zeke then sees the world in ruin and is standing on a pile of skulls. --
Zeke: "No, Eren! I CAN'T BE A PART OF THIS!"
Eren: "Then what can you be a part of?"
Your the reason why I started watching Attack of Titan and I have gotten to the latest episode. This is a crazy show....Thank you for letting me know about it!!!
I love AOT bescause we see literally a child yearning to be a hero turn into a villian, the very thing he despised himself.
“Still in that rebellious face huh Eren?!”
Ymir goes back cause she has no other options, she’s a slave mentally trapped by her captor even if she had the power to kill him she doesn’t, sad reality but true.
Cue that old 'Red Hot Chili Peppers' song!
Armin and Mikasa completely underestimated how far Eren was willing to go. He kept them in the dark for so long for a reason, he knew they wouldn’t agree to what he had planned. “Eren is on our side” 😢
*Before*
"Who let the dogs out?!"
The world: Lol
*Now*
"Who let the Titans out?!"
Eren: Me
The World: Oh no!
you should add another verse in the middle:
"Who let the pigs out?"
Slaves: Ymir
The World: Why?
me: oh yes.
As a manga reader of this series, it was so cool seeing the rumbling be animated
Jami if notice in the flashback of yomir the 13 hands the were pointing on her refers to the 13 years of titans lives and the bloody white flower with the 9 leafs refers to the 9 main titans.
RUMBLING BLING BLING BLING (the fact that Jami called Armin A Her is way too :OOO)
your outro discussion music is such a vibe
The rumbling is also Ymir's plan. She's the one who made those titans inside the walls after all.
"Waiting a week for those Attack on Titan episodes.."
Me: flashbacks to waiting a month for every chapter
when eren found out zeke's plan he realized he could never commit genocide......
.....toward his own people
i just realized that moment ymir was walking was that when she was building the walls plus the titan in them if so that's to crazy
eren to zeke : there's no way I would help you in a plan that messed up .
also eren : let's kill everything outside paradise .
That's why it showed her with eyes for the first time, the first time she understood she had free will.
my euphoric feeling, when i was reading all these in the manga with AoT osts in the background playing👌🏼
we debate ymir choices way back when it release it on manga but shes so innocent she didnt know what to do, and she develop her feelings on king fritz so thats that!
Founding Titan Eren's face when he declares that he wants to destroy the world is honestly my new favorite frame of the entire series. It's menacing and serious and just awesome
Thank for your reaction!
Why Yimir chose to remain a slave is a biggest question, that we should try to answer by ourself.
I got strong chills when I saw Ymirs expression... Eren now feels like he's the answer to a silent prayer, told by a small abused girl.
To see the walls finally come down in animation form after years of following the story is just so surreal.
u didn't realize that it was eldia who enslaved ymir
It’s crazy to me how the author managed to make both opposing side the good guys.Neither of them is an evil villain cause they are assholes. You can sympathize with both sides and it’s almost breaks your heart to see them fighting and killing eachother.
Ymir is a _God for Eldians_
Ymir is a _Devil for Marleyians_
Ymir is a _Slave for King Fritz_
But for my man Eren, Ymir is a Human being who wants freedom.
The rumbling had started 😥
This is gonna be insane 0-0
When Eren was holding Ymir I was thinking of the AOT drip memes like Eren was returning what Ymir was deprived of for so long...her legendary *Drip* .
You should (re)watch the End Credits of Season 2 after this. It will blow you away.
Maria... Rose.. Sina... the sealife.. omg Isayama Hajime told us aldready all the story 😵💫
I'll re watch the whole serie soon !
Fritz was the Doflamingo to Ymir's Jaimi.
When you think about it that way "I will give you my seed" doesn't sound so disgusting now does it?
the reason Armin was saying it like it was a good thing was cuz he thought Eren was just using the rumbling to attack the allied forces in Marley who plan to attack paradise. Armin realized it wasn't a good thing when he realized Eren was unleashing ALL of the wall titans towards the entire world
You guys waiting a week…imagine waiting a whole month for just a piece of this episode in the manga lol great reaction!!
I was there.
FACTSSS I’m just now appreciative cuz MAPPA is delivering
In the book Historia is reading, the "Devil" Ymir is making a deal with looks like Eren's attack titan face... I wonder if an old attack titan holder wrote that book, since they could see the eventual team up of Ymir and Eren...
Yoooooooo...the wrinkles of your brain must be incredible!

19:10 yes, its actually happened in Instant. In prev episode zeke explained that in paths it takes long time but in real world its Instant
Boy... take a look on that music when Eren transforms!! AMAZING!!!
The “water” was actually all spinal fluid
I didn't check it myself but some people said that if we go back and watch early episode we could see a few times adult Eren lurking in the background
Eren lived long enough to see himself become the villian
Eren: *got a new bigger form
Ymir creating it: b*tch i trusted you
Yimir's story will never not break my heart. She was a slave to the idea of being loved. Just as Eren is a slave to the idea of freedom
It looks like Eren is in the end doing all that he grew up with like he said
Mikasa: *Eren what have you done* 🥺🥺
Eren: I will use racism to destroy racism 👿👿👿
I've been waiting for your reaction all day long lol
The 3 daughters are the names of the walls btw
Everybody gangsta till eren falls to the mariana trench
I'm sorry but the part when Zeke running towards Eren was too hilarious
So as a reminder, there are 3 main tasks we currently have.
1. For Eren to experience his freedom.
2. To ensure that his friends can live long "To save mikasa and armin..."
3. To free Ymir from slavery, break the curse and to erase this titan's power.
The last task was just fulfilled, was it not?
@@cinnay99 The titan power is still there.
SPOILER
There's 2 step to free Ymir, Eren is already do the first step in this episode
@@ahmadiskandarzulkarnain5833 Well, I'll see that then. Curious
She's been a slave ever since she was a child, she literally doesn't know any way of life except serving others and doing what they say; Eren is the "someone" she was waiting for, which is to say that no one in her ENTIRE life had said "you can choose" except for Eren
she felt like she needed PERMISSION to exert her free will, and that's heartbreaking
They trust too much responsibility on him, no one should get upset when he makes his decisions.
